Go and study ur english text book and dictionary for the interview. Just to ask u one question, how many interviewer hav u seen dat use grammar to ask u question in an interview? They all use simple english dat even a primary school student will understand or terms relating to ur field of study.
My humble advice to those in the technical field
1, If u have any technical experience, pls go and research more about it
2, If u don't have any experience, ensure dat ur school project reflect on ur CV and prepare to defend it again, dat show u are also technically incline. Instead of studying english now, study technical terms relating to ur field.

Dis is where I rest my case about english or no english, grammar or no grammar Thank u all

No one is saying you shouldn't be able to defend your cv. And the word 'chosed' for instance, isn't big grammar (as you chose to describe it). These are basic things. But please, by all means do what whatever makes you sleep at night.

I rest my case.

It's 'yes'.

Going by all these SPELLINGS, WORDS & SENTENCES Corrections I think it's kukuma better for us to change this thread's topic to "CORRECT ENGLISH ENGINEERING FOR NNPC INTERVIEW" What do u all think? @least we will have the idea of what we're actually discussing here.

:-I wonder why some peeps believe they can just waltz in here and tell us what we should be discussing. Why must we discuss what you want? People should ease up a lil abeg. Must you be serious all the time. So its when someone writes "tell me about yourself that you'll prepare for that in an interview? People spend more time in their offices these days and as such, your office should be lively and fun, filled with sacarstic people and also people with a great sense of humor. Without these characteristics, a person's life can be so uptight and sad.
There is a reason for the "unfollow button" USE IT, since na only u carry the whole problem for this world. undecided undecided

Hello house,While i believe it is important for applicants to be sound in both spoken and written English .I will suggest we don't make such a big deal of people's mistake here, most esp. when they fail to acknowledge such errors. Going by the cohorts this forum parades, basic communication skills would hardly be the game changer, lets face it, we are all graduates who have crossed the first line drawn by the cooperation,we can't be that poor in grammar to turn off the panel. Now back to the interview thingy . I know I got some responses when I asked earlier , but please permit me to ask again. Did anyone here attend the the Saturday 21st March interview in lagos? If yes kindly feed us with details on what to expect

With the results of the presidential election released so far, there is a high probability that any of the 2 major candidates may be declared winner today. My question, if GMB eventually wins, will it affect this recruitment either by postponement till his government settles down or outright cancellation knowing that NNPC is a major player in our economy? Happy New Week All!

The recruitment has NOTHING to do with change in governance. The recruitment process is on hold ONLY because of security reasons during the election period.

Ask yourself this question. If you were Buhari or Jonathan, wetin concern you with new intakes in NNPC? THINK BIG!

"I finished work in the exams. My best section was the verbal reasoning". "Many mail on the way" "More texts will be sent" etc.

Some of the things you hear and read from people. We have put it to the test on this thread and we have seen all such pseudo-bravado fall like a pack of cards.

Excerpts from what QED1 said:

1. Oil and Gas doesn't necessarily require English (emphasis mine)

2. Even if you don't need it for the job...WORK ON YOURSELF.

Yet 4 people endorsed the post of the other guy who would rather settle for mediocrity.

How Good is Deziani's English? Dr. Dawha's? Bernard Otti's? Other GED's? Are you more technical than they are? Yet they added good grammar to their technical-skills and you would rather settle for just the latter. You are planning well indeed.

Maturity includes (but isn't limited to) being able to use your tongue to count your teeth.

The result of this election would have everything to do with this recruitment. Well as i see things, Buhari is winning, therefore, i don't expect any mail as regards the recruitment anytime soon. Not trying to be pessimistic, just being realistic.

This is my personal opinion. Please no quarrels or abuses.

Cheers.

Of course you are correct. The result of this election has everything to do with this election. If Buhari wins, which is likely, bye bye to this recruitment. NNPC is the most important national corporation in Nigeria. That's usually the first place of interest. All activities are first suspended. The impact of the coming tsunami will be massive. Change agents will be coming with so much vengeance. This is 'oyel money'

Hope you are good.

NNPC had been under the radar following allegation of financial impropriety under the current minister. So, the incoming administration will want to audit the Corporation past & future activities. Whether the audit will affect this recruitment process positively is a question for debate!!!

My most humble opinion/submission.

Don't be surprised if u get a text from PCL next week for the interviews. Buhari coming on board simply means more faith in the process not the disruption of the process.

I believe that the current management of NNPC would want to hurry up with the recruitment process before the new govt begins to change things.
