Part 1...After scaling thru d aptitude test which thousands of people wrote (my first dragnet test for dat matter), I was invited for an interview and d dress code was business casual.. I wore my best chynos and lucky purple stripped long sleeved Tshirt and headed for lagos from ph A week and 2days after d test. Lodged in a hotel for d night. (ma 2500 jux blow... Mtcheew ) and prepped for d interview.. The next day I was scheduled for 8.30 and got there by 8.45 (no blame me o.. We lose for inside egbin power plant ).luckily d d interview didnt start till past 9 and i was the first to be interviewed....After exchanging pleasantries with some interviewees. One of d hr called... Whos scheduled for 8.30 he said.. I raised ma hand hoping to see a multitude of hands go up with me alas we were only 3 out of like 50 present den. 'I don die' i exclaimed on ma mind. I was called up, and was told to wait by d door......Come in sd a deep voice... I stepped in fully prepped for ma first interview after NYSC and behold I saw a panel of 6 pple in front of me... OMG i said in ma mind and took a deep breath steadily cos ma feet were about to fail me... 6 whole pple and I don die kept ringing in my head......... The interview itself coming soon

Part 2..I wouldnt go into details on dis interview cause i scaled thru.The real wahala was d 2nd stage with the board of directors ectors. Although d first stage interview was very technical, d interviewers were friendly and i got ma rythm on time to impress dem. After d interview i went to sign out and saw d list of job seekers coming in d 3days.. About 600pple..Jesus naso pple find job reach? Ma mind immediately went to all d negative aspects of d interview.. And ma 100% confidence was shaken to like 70%.I travelled bk to ph and continued normal daily schedule (clash of clans, pinging and nairalanding).until a week later wen i got a success mail and an invitation for an interview to see d board of directors... Dis tym i wasnt on d first day.. Nyc i said.. I ll get some good info...but sadly all d info i got didnt prepare me for wat i faced dat fateful day.... Loading......

Part 3... We were given a form to fill some details about what we studied and wat we plan studying to be submitted with a passport in ppt.format..(all dat kind protocol dey tire me eh) .Filled d form and submitted, went thru ma cv again using american standard(Terrible mistake). And readied ma suit.. I even bought a new designers tie and plain blue T-shirt... I gats nail dis thing I said... I took off to lag again...This tym the interview was at lekki so i slept in ma uncles place. The nxt morning. I dressed up smartly feeling fly and ontop of the world. Boarded a bus from sattellite town to mile 2 to ajah to lekki to the venue. On getting dere, I met some peeps dere already seated and waiting as the interview had already started(I was scheduled for 11 am so i wasnt late). I signed in and looked at d list.. 49 pple today. Dey were about 60 d first day(not sure) and as i later found out,we totalled 189. In d four days. After checking in with d receptionist, (a middle aged woman and a fone young bobo.... I aint gay but d dude had nyc looks). I sd down and started conversing with other guys trying to get more info as a sharp guy.. We previously thought it will be jux hr questions but found out to our dismay dose mean dudes were dishing out crazy tech questions. When it was like 5persons to ma turn, I heard laughter coming out from the interview room and mins later a dude came out smiling as d dudes b4 him were.. How was it we asked in unism.. Cool he said. Dey jux asked me how old i was and some other shit. Any texh questions i asked, jix one he said.. No p i said. Tnks for d info. I come dey revise for ma head all d turbines wey I don jack.. Suddenly a dude walked in and asked for d hr.. He was dressed in blue jeans and a shirt with what seemed like boots to me. I thought he waa an engr in d field dat came for official visit. Next yhing I know he comes and sits down besyd me with a file in his hands.. I look round and see guys and lafies sharply dressed looking at him with a confused face. So I broke d ice and asked him with a smile on my face.... Bro ur here for d interview right??. Yes he says... U hv to go and check in with d receptionist and submit ur documents i said.As he moves to do dat, One funny evil dude asks me... Didnt he get d mail that say we should be corporately dressed?? Ur evil I answer him... We later got to find out that hes from the north.. (none of ma biz)..Back to d matter at hand... When it was now like two people b4 me. The faces I started seeing coming out stopped smiling ooo.. I asked d first one ....Bro how was it.....Fine he said but the look on his face told me something else.. The next dude no even look ma corner.. The last dude b4 me came oit mins later.. How far i asked... Mehhnnnnnnn... It was bloody he said... I could feel tension oozing out of the lady after me... I laughed out loud.. At least no b only me dey feel the heat... As i was about to enter, a pretty fair woman said to me.... Excuse me dear, could u please wait outside for sometime, we would like to take our lunch b4 we continue....
Bombblast na em i hear for ma ear... The lady after me said.. Its a gud thing nah, at least dey probably wont be so hostile.. Maybe cos dey were hungry dats why dey dealt with dose dudes... Ma heart really agreed with her cause it wantes to.. But my head was telling me from experience that one of the worst times to enter an interview room is immediately after lunch(Trust me on dis one.happened to me in an interview b4 ma youth service)....After dey had deir lunch... I was called in. I stood trying to shake the hunger pangs to meet a well fed lady and 3 men all d while asking God to take charge... Whether he did or not, u all will decide in d last part..... But i still give him glory.....

Final Part (will write down as much as i remember but it was worse, Trust me)... so i walk in and sitdown after exchanging pleasantries and asking where i was from by four straight faced individuals looking at me. one of them looks at ma cv and his straight face changes to a little frown. the following encounter ensues between me and them.

interviewer 1 (the evil genuis) (i will be using int later as short form):so you read Materials and Metallurgical engineering, Of wat use is it to the power sector?

me: (OMG.. what a 1st question...well..): I blab up and down about my course being the bedrock of engineering, that studying metmat gives me the knowledge to master in any engineering and having practical mech and ee experience gained during my IT.

Int2.(the evil accountant): Firstly, lemme ask u dis.. Mech and metmat, which is under which

me: (knowing where hes going, i sheepishly answer mech)

int2: then why will you tell me that you have knowledge of all engineering cause of your course when its under mechanical.
(I kept mute knowing arguing with cholerics like that will make matters worse)

me: Sir i also hv experience that some mech engineers dint have during ma 6months IT

int2: you cant tell me 6months experience can be compared to 5 years of schooling.

me: But sir, we learn basically the same thing till 3rd year b4 we specialize

int 2: But u dont learn the same thing till final year

me: No sir

int2: den its not the same thing..you cant tell me you know what a mechanical or ee engr knows

me: (I shout YEPA!!! in my mind, take a deep breath and begin) well sir the electricity is first generated in the boiler or using gas..

int2. (he cuts me short) explain hoe power is generated using steam turbine..

me. (i smile say i don hammer) well sir water is heated in boilers which poroduces steam which impacts on the turbines that drives generators bla bla bla.. i wanted to enter gas powered and he cuts me short.

int2: ok ok ok jux continue

me: (damn dis guy don cut ma flows).. well sir d voltage is stepped up to b4 it travels thru the line where it is stepped down before it reaches the consumer)

int1: What is the voltage stepped up to.

me:240 volts I answer reluctantly (its actually 415, i failed it)
int3: (smiles, knowing i failed it.) What is a 3 phase single phase system?

me: Having no idea, I start blabbing up and down and the dude keeps smiling at me and ma stupidity .

he asks one more question and i have no idea and he keeps quiet..(he has proved his point)

As i walk out, i know am finished.. a dude asks me how was it. its ok i replied (BIG LIE!!! says my brain). another asks me how was it.. I wait for ma new frnds to finish and we go home together. @ weeks later i get a heart rendering regret mail telling me I should check deir oil and gas sector later in d year. They never recruited. Well good job SAHARA POWER!! you strengthened my heart to other regrets I ll get. All paled in comparism to yours. well av been way over you guys since and I got my 24k

Tenaris tore me in bits in June 2013, from about a hundred or more participants whom made it through their SHL online tests invited for the Assessment Day to about 16 participants who made it to the group session and then a final 8 persons scheduled to be interviewed with the analysts I made it through the same day. I got interviewed and after some weeks, received a congratulatory mail with an invite for the next stage whenever it was eventually scheduled. The next stage entails meeting with the line managers, so it must have meant I had passed the assessment day as the mail narrated but the very disturbing part was I was never scheduled for the second stage interview regardless of a prior communication that actually kept hopes alive, till this point I haven't received any. That really consumed useful time

Mine was with a telecommunications company as a customer Care agent.

Passed the initial test via phone and was invited for a CBT test late last year. I travelled down to Lagos from the north to write it. I actually felt I did very well.

But till today, no regret mail and no invite, so painful.

I love this thread. People would be able to learn alot going into interviews. I also didnt put my age on my cv but will be doing that now. It cld one of d reasons I dnt get invites sometimes.

My experience was so pathetic,I gate crashed d test of this company (....) at Onitsha,which was almost at d end of my youth service.. I was so fortunate to pass d test, we also did an interview DAT same day. it was my first interview and test...I have been praying for favour from God for a dream job before d completion of my Nysc.
The interviewer inquired about my Nysc status,and I confessed to him that I wld be rounding off in some few weeks,I was told It was not a big deal DAT am still good to go.
2 weeks later,I was scheduled for another interview at their head office in Ibadan,it caught me unaware with just a 2day notice,I had to rush down to d mainmarket in Onitsha to get some new outfits for d interview...
I also called some of my colleagues DAT we did d first stage interview 2geda,...3 out 8 of dm got d mail..........!!!

We all met at d toll gate linking delta to Onitsha,just to get a cheaper bus to Ibadan (All transporters like God is good and others cost die and alawee alert Neva enta). we boarded a sienna bus at a cheaper rate to Ibadan..
it was really an interesting trip...we cracked jokes,had fun fun fun......wen we got to Benin,d Human resource manager called us individually to inquire about our movement and attendance.......
on getting to Ib,I had 2 make some calls for a place to scot till d next day...we all slept in Ui hostel...

We woke up early,took our bath and departed to challenge,from challenge we took a bike to d companies head office along d industrial planning way.
On getting dre,I was so amazed with their gigantic building ,it was a big company recognised abroad.....
We registered and proceeded to d interview room,we were first told to fill a form which indicates d state u coming from..our names were called one after d other....
