Buhari wins in Kano as Kwankwaso floors Lado for senate By Hisham Habib,special correspondent Kano The All Progressive Congress presidential flagbearer General Muhammadu Buhari has won the saturday s election in Kano.

Addressing newsmen in the early hours of Monday Inec s chief collation officer Professor Muhammad Hamisu said out of the total 2,128,367 votes casted General Buhari got 1,903,999 while President Goodluck garnered 215,779.

The incumbent Kano state governor Engineer Rabiu Kwankwaso defeated serving senator Bashir Garba Lado in the contest for Kano central senatorial seat. Professor Aminu Sulaiman who announced the result from the 15 local governments said Kwankwaso scored 758, 392 votes to beat Lado who scored 205,819.

Activities in the city remain low as citizens awaited the final result of the presidential election on Monday as businesses were in a half door mood .

I feel very sorry for the Northern PDP candidates contesting Senate and House of Reps. If the governorship elections were held today...almost all PDP governorship aspirants in the North would have lost to APC. That's what we call the "Buhari Factor"!

It happens.....that is the nature of politics...some candidates suffer the perceived sins of the party...out of no faults of theirs.

Meanwhile in the EAST.....APGA is just learning the lesson that AD learnt in 2003.....NEVER TELL YOUR SUPPORTERS TO VOTE PDP IN PRESIDENTIAL AND YOUR PARTY CANDIDATES IN OTHER ELECTIVE POST....PDP will always capitalize on it and ensure all their candidates are keyed in.

When I saw this result like 20 minutes ago via The Nation newspaper, I was like "am I seeing double?"
Not until now, I would not have believed it.

NOTE: In 2011, ACN and CNPP shared the major votes in that state but now PDP were not able to get up to 25%.

I still maintain that whoever eventually wins this presidential election, so be it in Jesus name. Amen!

I and jarus were right afterall; we predicted after the crowd that turned out for gej when he went there to campaign that gej can't make up to 15% in kano, and that has happened. Gej got 10% in kano.
I told someone that if gej gets up to 15-25% in kano , I shall deactivate my account.
