I don't agree with most of you. It is better to cut a deal and let her stay in the country. At least a lot of the money stays here, and the ones outside will be brought in. It will not be good for GMB if people start running out. And in any case, how many will have to run out. There's a Hausa saying (Gaba tafi baya), which GMB himself acknowledges will be a guiding principle in this regard. When translated, it amounts to something like: There are more days ahead than what has passed.
What deal? We did not vote for him to start cutting deals. She should refund every dime that does not belong to him with interest. She is free to stay, but where is another matter.

I think General Abdulsalami has been unsung. People have hailed the act of PGEJ, but nobody talks about the background role Abdulsalami played in that whole process. For me, he deserves even more commendation - he is the real hero!

Diezani knows how instrumental he is, so she has gone for him to help broker her soft-handling wit GMB. I hope the General does not accede to this Grand Thief. It is precisely because of dealing with people like her that Nigerians voted GMB.
The fear of PGMB is d beginning of wisdom....diezani if u like visit president Obama the rot of GMB will surely fall on u nd iwela. No juju ft stop am

thanks for the correction, unlike me to make such a flaw, ngozi is a woman of integrity! You can disagree with her economic policies or claim those polices have wasted money but you can't accuse her of theft, which is something the APC has never and will never do despite all the hot air they throw around, and that is why she remains calm and resolute whole other scramble in reaction to the change in government. And lastly, I do not engage in childish and mindless name calling..

While Ngo baby might not get accused of graft , she would be muddied by the revelations, as Finance minister she is well aware of all on-goings and I doubt the world bank would be accepting her with open harms.

She'll probably make a good snitch and whistle-blower

Personally, I think those women failed because Jonathan is weak, dull, corrupt and unprincipled. Because I always wondered why Iweala performed excellently under Obasanjo but performed woefully under Jonathan.

Lol. There is absolutely nothing sexist about saying women shouldn't be given a free hand (without proper guidance by men) to control very sensitive positions, which require emotional calmness.

Hillary Clinton was an epic failure as the US secretary of state, and will go down as the worst ever in US history. The only reason why Angela Merkel is decent is because she's part of a coalition government and while she's the face of it, she doesn't run the show. Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the German manufacturing industry pull the plugs behind the scene when it comes to how Germany deals with foreign policy/affairs - while other folks run the show within Germany.

Letting women control certain positions is a recipe for disaster.

Buddy, the president has the constitutional powers to forgive wrongs if it can serve the interest of peace. Already Baba has said he won't touch past leaders. Is that not in the interest of peace, reconciliation and healing? If you know the case between Tinubu and Buba Marwa, I think, you will know what I am talking about. Tinubu started to get his focus back (as Lg State governor) when he stopped digging his predecessor's back.

Not surprised since most naija women are facially challenged - and they always tend to get obese whenever they're comfortable, or have money.

Anyway, apart from GEJ, how many people in his government smashed that? grin

They all need to start coughing out the funds they looted.

Everyone looking for soft landing but I doubt if this woman would get one because she's the greatest thief in GEJ's cabinet.

He also has the political sense to know that any attempt to retain the status quo of 'all your sins are forgiven, go and sin no more' would alienate him from his supporters. She has no right to willfully take what does not belong to her,and expect to be patted on her back for job well done. He does not need to devote his time to these corruption cases, a new EFCC would do it

This unarguably is a sexist remark... Since independent men had always been in the so called sensitive position, what have you done with the emotional calmness........ You have destroyed this country with your emotional calmness! I believe we need more women to checkmate the high level of testosterone running amok along the corridors of power.

Gosh! I can't believe I'm arguing along this line. Shymex don't quote me again.

hmm, you think say IMF na Aso Rock, or oyinbo countries no dey take corruption matter serious? If u think IMF would receive her with "open arms" while she's facing corruption charges in Nigeria, you must be leaving in lalaland. Pray she doesnt get indicted for any corruption here in Nigeria, else that would be the end of her career any where else in the world. Period!

If I were to say, don't put a woman in the ring with Floyd Mayweather - I'm sure you wouldn't call it "sexist", would you? Well, not everything is sexist, the truth is just bitter sometimes.

When it comes to critical decision making that involves grave consequences, especially ones that can make or mar anything, you can't let women take charge, without adequate supervision by men.

The same excuses you're giving now, were put forward when Hillary Clinton was selected to become US Secretary of State, and how a woman would make the world more peaceful. However, she ended messing everything up with her undiplomatic ways and useless Arab spring that destroyed decent countries - hence she was thrown out of there, before destroying everything. grin

There's a reason that despite the fact that there are more women on this planet - men run the show everywhere, especially governments. Even out here in the UK - apart from Theresa May, there's no woman in the government with a very sensitive portfolio. Ditto US - though they have a few female figure-heads there, who are controlled by certain men via a doctrine. grin

Life isn't perfect, Sis - and don't get emotional now. tongue

she is aware of all the going on's? As she now omnipotent and omnipresent? This is the same woman who raised alarm over the isolationist economic tendencies of the NNPC, ministry of petroleum and other oil agencies...whatever your hate for her or the witch hunt the buhari administration will carry out on her, she will emerge flawless and forge ahead with her impressive career internationally, she did it in 2006 under obasanjo and she'll do it again.

No. Allison-Madueke, like GEJ, is innately corrupt and unprincipled by nature. Okonjo Iweala may not be corrupt but she is certainly unprincipled, a lair and complicit in the fiscally irresponsible and profligate leadership of Nigeria that Jonathan got away with. I really don't know if you are trying to tell us that women cannot be criminal-minded and unprincipled without a man, Jonathan this case, being responsible for their conduct. I hope this is not what you are saying .

iI like the part where u admitted PDP was 'out-rigged'. The set of southern people GEJ kept close to himself felt the way to get their own oil block booty was to go after the nations' cash reserves.
There is a big difference between oil blocks shared out during military era and oil proceeds in a democratic dispensation.

Shymex have you ever wonder why there are check and balances generally in government? It's because governance in general is very critical to be left in the hands of few without supervision.... Also the constitution recognised absolute power corrupt . Have you ever wondered why the President have so much advisers on so many issues? Because he's not expected to know all but must have sufficient knowledge before taken any decision.

That's why I see the bolded as a personal insult when even the men in government are not expected to make decision single handedly.
