The truth of the matter was that, the DSS gave him a list of officers to choose from as his personal Detail, Buhari insisted that he will continue with Mani, who has been with him since 2011. The DSS, said Mani was one rank below the DSS required rank to be posted as the detail of a president.

Buhari replied that, he doesn't mind his rank, and that they should allow him despite his rank, the DSS in their normal EYE SERVICE promoted Mani to the next rank to pleased the General.

How do I know all this, don't worry

Manni given accelerated promotion? This is what the north has been doing in nigeria since independence. where there no senior officers of northern extract in the dss? was gej cso a southerner?

Like the current head of Army from the south that was given bolt light accelerated promotion after retiring more than 50 most senior officers just to serve GEJ, mind you badeh is course 25 and the man in question is course 24. Besides, they are is what they call promotion based on recommendation which is normal and sometimes if u have done a very good job the service may decide to motivate you with promotion as a means of appreciation.

A new chief security officer (CSO) was appointed for the president-elect as part of security arrangement ahead of his swearing in on May 29.
An operative of the Department of Security Service (DSS), Abdulrahman Dauda Mani is the new security chief of the president-elect.

Mani’s appointment was announced by the director general of the DSS Ita Ekpenyong last week when he paid a courtesy call to Buhari.

Mani’s appointment also came with accelerated promotion by the secret service.

Mani was deployed by the DSS as a security detail to Buhari in 2011 weeks before he launched his campaign that year.

Daily Trust learned that security has been beefed up around the president-elect a day after he was presented with a certificate of return by INEC.

You dont deserve to be replied cos you seem to have no understanding of the subject. I will try so you may come to light.

This is no political appointment, its a detail. In this case, every president must choose his CSO from the rank in DSS. Buhari picked his CSO from a rank lower than recommended by DSS and DSS must do as commanded by the awaiting commander in chief. No one can impose on the president even he is not yet sworn in.

Dont forget he chose his current CSO as an ex president to continue as CSO of a pesident elect and subsequently Presisdient. The CSO is definately qualified but does not posses the rank.

What makes you think he is incompetent. I feel buhari should have a say in the head of his security detail. Mani was with him since 2011 when he was just a presidential aspirant so now he has gotten the presidency he should throw him aside.

Don't think so. I would do the same. I rather someone I know than someone I don't know to secure me.

Minimah is course 25 while badeh is course 24 Ihejirika is also course 24, he was retired to give way for course 25 to emerge but yet badeh is still there, militarily badeh is minimah senior on a normal day such is not suppose to happen, badeh was suppose to be Retired with his mate but that didn't happen at all what we have now is local arrangement consisting of course 25 and course 24 in the same place, that's GEJ arrangement for you
