It's always good to be humble and ask questions about a group of people. Circumcision was practiced in parts of Africa,Middle east and some parts of the new world.
In East Africa and Southern Africa,tribes like Kikuyi,massai and Xhosa practiced circumcision. But in these areas it was only done after infancy as a rite of passage to adult hood. In Northern Africa,Egyptians were probably the first to perform on young men not babies. It was just done for the purpose of cleanilness.
In the middle east,phonecians and related cannanite groups also practiced it. The founding father of hebrews,Abraham was asked to perform it on his kids. In West Africa,a number of ethnic groups practiced it. In Igboland, infants where circumcised 8 days after birth. It has a deep religious and cultural connotation just like the ancient hebrews o not jew.

Fine. That's why most of my references come from African historians and scientists. Nobody is claming jew here. Are we content to hear that subsaharan African Negroids (a prejorative term) did not make any impart in World history. What is out true origins?
