Fake ballot papers, result sheets trigger boycott in Abia 0

The gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in some vil­lages in Arochukwu ran into a hitch as voters in many polling units refused to vote on the ground that the ballot papers and the result sheets were fake. However in some centers, while voting was in progress, rumours filtered in that the election has been cancelled, which caused more confusion. In some units some Independent National Elector­al Commission, INEC ad hoc staff were alleged to be collud­ing with Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA agents, said they received instructions not to sign the result sheets. At the centre in Arochukwu Col­lege of Education,( technical), suspected PDP thugs allegedly shot some one.

In Ania ward that has 25 poll­ing units, election didn’t hold, as none of the card readers func­tioned, leading to the Electoral Officer to reschedule the election for Sunday.

In some areas in Uzuakoli, where 500 voters were accred­ited, not more than 150 ballot papers were supplied.

In ward 2 Amaeke ward, Abam, election ended and the corps member escaped with the result sheet. In ward 009 in Oha­for, there was no election because of protests against fake voting materials

At Umusi polling booth in Ig­bere Bende LGA, INEC gave a voters’ register that has only 46 names.

Consequently, over 200 PVC-bearing voters that are not cap­tured in the register were disen­franchised.

The Polling Officer said he was acting according to instruc­tions

The fear of JEGA and GMB is the beginning of wisdom.... Having the whole videos and evidences on ground for challenging any funny result, the REC is faced with 2 options: to compromise, collect small money and get sacked or to announce the real result and retain his/her job

Maybe he/she has heard that GMB will set up a special court to prosecute those involved in election malpractice, and made a U-turn.

I don't believe the results are as close as this but tis better than rigging it upside down

This is just my opinion on this matter. Let the better candidate win.... And from all indications, Alex Otti is really loved by the masses (I don't know their reason, I come dey fear whether na jazz em use)... Truth be told, When Diamond bank was on a continuous loss for 2-3 straight years, Alex otti took over and within a year, the bank recorded a profit, rebranded the whole bank and made Diamond bank what it is today (among the top 7 banks in Naija, capital base and customer base) ... Consequently, he gained investors trust.

Bottom line, if he managed Investors funds well, little is left to conclude that he'll manage tax payers funds well. [/b]
