The Igbo must consciously set out to put the Yoruba (their hosts in Lagos) at ease by correcting that impression.

He urged different tribes in Lagos to work for the progress of the state.

The royal father urged the president-elect, retired Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to assist Lagos in repairing most of the damaged federal roads in the state.

Akiolu, who spoke in Yoruba language, said that when Buhari came to his palace during the campaign period, he was three hours behind schedule.

He said that Buhari complained of bad roads and he told him that when he becomes the president he should help the state to reconstruct the road.
The Oba said he was sure that God would give him the power to do it.

Akiolu urged the incoming Governor of Lagos, to do what he promised the people.

The prayer was conducted by Imam Mujitabah Giwa, the Alawiye of Lagos and his league of Imams.

Giwa prayed for peaceful coexistence in Lagos and also for political leaders in the country.

Some traditional rulers in Lagos as well as white cap chiefs were present at the prayer session.
Chief Rasak Okoya, Chairman of Eleganza Group was also among some dignitaries present.

Before we despise others sir, let us take a walk in their shoes. If we think deep over this matter, we discover that the cause of it all was Jimi Agbaje. He wanted the power by any means. Even through incredible means. And so he taught he could use any concept for his campaign. Promising he was going to appoint one of the Igbos as a first class chief in Lagos,is a disrespect to the traditional ruler,Oba Akiolu. Another thing is this, the reactions of the Igbos,after Oba Akinolu's speech to me sounded ungrateful and dangerous too. Some of the Igbos will even say, 'Lagos is no man's land'.
Portharcourt is one of the melting pots in Nigeria, shall we then say it's a land of no man? Or Aba.
To me, this matter has gone to quicken the dead sleeping Yorubas to wake from their slumbering. Failure to wake, Lagos may be overtaken by her prominent visitors,the Igbos...

Those companies you mentioned are government's right? And that's the reason Lagos is no man's land right? Because of that Lagos should be controlled by her visitors,the Igbos right?
This issue is not a far-fetched one, I don't know why many of the Ndigbos are not getting it straight...as if companies don't exist in the east. Go to PH or even Owerri, you will see what am saying...though their may be few numbers of companies in the east, but that's not withstanding. You guys have crude oil more than we have in the southwest. I smell inferiority complex in this room.
