Nuezha:It's quite sad that it's already started in the west. Yorubas who are even offline are now aware of what is going on and reaction of our Oba ll tell you a lot about what is going on behind closed door. Bigotry aside, I have always advised Igbos to try and stop this disrespectful attitude of theirs. If war breaks out today, Igbos and Yorubas ll be killed in thousands but guess what, Igbos would have no choice than to leave for the East. The lasting solution that would be proffered by UN and World powers is separation just like Sudan, Korea and India/Pakistan. Who ll eventually miss out? Igbos of course and that is why I am advising them to desist from disrespecting their hosts everywhere in the country. As an immigrant with British/American passport in US/UK, you can't disrespect them and expect these guys to be quiet despite their civilisation..... |

ElekeNtioba:You are allowed to tell any lie but not this one. Even the Ironsi government had to ban the playing of machine gun shots that the Igbos were playing in Northern markets and barracks. The igbos taunted the Northerners that their dead premier was killed like a Ram. They even made the effort to draw the attention of Northerners to the silly pictures they hung up in their shops. How suicidal can one get? Even during the war, after the air raids by Biafra on Lagos, the Igbos in Lagos still taunted their hosts on how Ojukwu was coming to deal with them. A nairalander once wrote that Yorubas are tolerant and accommodating. An Igbo member replied that "is that a new euphemism for cowardice?" It would seem the North is the punishment you lot have been given by nature. The day Igbos acquire the grace to overlook the opportunity to taunt, the Igbo tribe as we know it would have died. |

lyntiffany:Can't the governments of SS/SE band together and dredge those Onitsha and Ibaka seaports so you lot can quickly relocate back to your region of milk and honey? I mean, like seriously how hard can it be for your governors to raise the money to do that? You all need to press them hard concerning that. |

Alot of childhood friends have been ended by nairaland even before the Oba opened his mouth. Truth is Igbos are preparing to go off and have their own country. 1)However, yorubas are now a minority tribe in a Northern Dominated party. Wat will be your faith now as the SS/SE prepare to exit from Nigeria? 2) Lagos election was never about igbos but igbos was just a rally cry to gain votes of a bigot tribe. Can Ambode out perform Fashola? No! May Tinubu continue to enterprise and enrich himself, whilst u all(yorubas) remain his political thug. May AGBAJE type of yoruba man never cross ur path, just Tinubu Boyz. Amin! |

BuddahMonk:Again, you decided to pick that bolded statement just like majority of Igbos instead of addressing what happened before those reactions from the Northerners. My friend, Northerners have not seen any reason to attack the southerners in the North yet, trust me, if they do, they would attack. Go and ask Jos Indigenes to tell you about their experiences and you know that Hausas/Fulanis have no respect for life. |

handsomenairala:...in South Africa, same behavior. The SAs hate them like .... The former Ghanaian president had to quickly pass a law to contain their excesses in Ghana when they almost overran their indigenous business owners. Their problem is inherent...DNA malfunction or something. Their congregation is somewhat a confraternity. |

It's clear the igbos are feeling persecuted by other Nigerians wherever they find themselves (perhaps it's about time they searched themselves and ask whether maybe they are actually the problem), which begs the question: why can't they fix up their region/land of milk and honey well enough so they won't have to live elsewhere? If they claim and beat their chest about "developing" other lands, isn't charity meant to begin at home? If so their land ought to be the a paradise on earth where other ethnic groups and even foreign nationals would love to live at. I just don't get it. ![]() |

Nuezha:I m just begging them from self destruct cos one day, just one day, d whole world might gather hands to beat them out of this stupidity just like Germany. Guess what, despite what I said about what happened with evidence. They continue to twist the story on behalf of their brothers; some even called me names. |

[quote author=handsomenairala post=32633034]We met and became friends in my first year in Secondary School but prior to this meeting, we had met at extra mural classes organised by Ghananians. We attended one of the best Roman catholic secondary schools in Ondo state and our relationship remained the same ever since we left Secondary school to different tertiary institutions. After so many years in different directions of life, fate led us to each other on that fateful day; we met again at Barbing Salon in London; exchanged pleasantries and phone numbers. And funny enough, we both attend the same Pentecostal Church. However, problems started last week when the issue of Oba Akiolu was being blown out of proportion. I went on my Facebook page only to see his Timeline filled up with myopic views/biased write ups about Yorubas and distorted history. I ignored it but my conscience couldn't. I therefore decided to call his attention to what Arthur Eze said about Yorubas in the presence of Goodluck Jonathan and Obi of Onitsha and the Yoruba quiet response to the repulsive and annoying utterances. I told him that as a pastor-to-be; your Timeline has always been used for Evangelism but all of sudden, it has now been turned to a platform to bash Yorubas. I told him to desist from such habit and i moved on with my life. Unfortunately, he chose not to address or respond to my submission/grievance. He went on his Timeline and bashed me in directly. I read his indirect message on his Timeline, I wanted to talk but I thought there was no need for it and I moved on. To my surprise today, he filled up his Timeline again about how Urhobo, Itshekiri, Ijaws etc should come together against Yorubas and I got upset. I went on his Timeline and narrated the history of Nigeria which turned out to irritate and upset him. We exchanged words and I advised him to delete me off his friends list for life. Sad, isn't it? But life goes on. Thank God I m deleting bigot out of my life. [/quot FAKE WRITE UP KEEP DESTROYING HUMANITY WITH ARTIFICIAL WRITE UPS THAT NEVER HAPPENED ] ![]() |

lyntiffany:There you go again with your delusion of grandeur, trying to feel important as usual. Without igbos Lagos will continue to thrive. During the civil war there were virtually no igbos left in Lagos, skyscrapers kept going up at the CBD, the many industries on oba akran and other places kept working, FDI kept coming in, our cars never lacked spare parts, our bridges were expanding, our doctors, lawyers, accountants and other professionals kept working and thriving. We had more than enough of everything we needed and Lagos thrived. If it happened then, you can bet you all won't be missed the next time around. |

handsomenairala:I think with what u've been spewing here that u and ur friend are both bigoted. You've stereotyped the Igbo again and again yet act self-righteous. Now, here is an Igbo view point for u to chew on: Few people in d army (4 Igbos and a Yoruba) plots a coup which fails, killing some prominent men from other tribes while the plan fails in the east. They fail to kill an Igbo. In your bigoted mind it was right for the whole Igbo to be made to pay for a failed army coup? The Igbo Head of State, Nigeria's number 1 citizen was murdered in the counter coup and that wasn't enough revenge. An entire generation of Igbo army officers is wiped out and it was still not enough. Then the final straw, over 100,000 innocent women, children and men are slaughtered in cold blood in the ensuing pogrom with the government of the day looking the other way while telling the world he could not guarantee Igbo safety. And u are saying they were murdered for the right reason? They were the aggressor? What the original coupists did was evil but why visit d sins of coup plotters on their tribe? Do coup plotters announce in village squares about their intended coups and wait for concurrence from the people before they strike? Why haven't Nigeria visited the entire north with a pogrom for Boko Haram and for the many religious riots and killings of years gone by? Why aren't we killing all the northerners because of Boko Haram? Instead of Nigeria to find ways to heal that wound and pacify a wronged ppl, many were justifying it, till this day. Today, we are back to square one - a deeply wounded, traumatized and divided nation. Remove the bigot in your own eyes before castigating your friend for his. Both of you need help. Serious help. |

DeeMain:I only read the first paragraph of your write up and I ll try to address the point you raised in that very paragraph. I have tried my best to stay away from tribal topic/issues either online or offline as a result of my relationship with Igbos over the years while growing up. Like I said earlier, I attended Roman Catholic School called Don Bosco as a C.A.C raised child and I got admitted into this lovely school as a result of my outstanding performance at the common entrance examination. The school hardly take people from other doctrine of Christianity. Igbos in my neighbourhood were shocked when they found out that I was admitted into the school and I enjoyed every bit of my days in my beloved secondary school. In my class, Igbos are almost 45% if not more than cos it's a Roman Catholic School. Yoruba folks like Christ Apostolic Church in the West while Igbos prefer Roman Catholic Church going by my observation. If you look at my friend list on Facebook, you ll see that 50%;are Igbos as a result of that School I attended. How do you expect me to feel when I see these kids who grew up in the West abusing the same soil that feed them and their parents? Let's put ourselves in others shoes at all time so as to feel the pains of others. If I was raised in the East and ended up abusing this same East to your face regardless what Obi or any politician did, trust me, your body would naturally react as a bonafide Igbo. |

luvmijeje:Perhaps that your friend was right. I am a yoruba but the fact is we are very selfish. We formed alliance with the north to defeat GEJ. I just hope the northerners would replicate same when we need them. |

Moheat:But Yorubas weren't selfish when they ganged-up with the same GEJ in 2011 to defeat Buhari then and gave him the required 25% from the states in the region? And i guess the North didn't support OBJ, a Yoruba earlier. Are you making sense to yourself? |

BuddahMonk:You just read my comment and replied without an iota of understanding. Don't always rely on the history told you by those bitter-cola eating/palmwine drinking grand fathers. Make research on your own. Were there not more Yorubas of Oyo, Kwara and Ogun descent in Kano, Kaduna & Niger prior to the 1954 riot. Did you ever ask your historians why the Igbos were the target.
