An office bookkeeper has been sacked after accidentally sending a text calling her boss a “complete di*k.”

Louise Nesbitt was dismissed from her role following the incident.

She claimed she sent the text to her boss by accident – rather than to he intended recipient, her daughter’s boyfriend.

The full text described her boss ‘Rob’ as a “complete di*k,” adding: “we know this already so please try your best not to tell him that regardless of how you feel the need.”

Immediately after realising the mistake, Ms Nesbitt sent a follow up text to her boss apologising and asking him to delete the message.

She wrote: “Rob, please delete without reading. I am so so so sorry. Bleep.”

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Ms Nesbitt intended to send the text in January to her daughter’s boyfriend.

He had been contracted to carry out plumbing work at the office where she worked.

In a third text, she said the message was down to her sense of humour.

Louise added: “That message came across so wrong. Rob … that is not how I feel. My sense of humour is to exaggerate.

“It is so far out of context … please forget it and just go on as normal.”

She has now failed to convince a tribunal that the message was a light-hearted insult.

Ms Nesbitt, who had worked at a mineral exploration company in Perth for six years, lost a claim for unfair dismissal before Australia’s industrial tribunal.

The tribunal ruled that the text was deeply offensive and was ‘far from a light-hearted insult’.

People must be very careful with their fons. This is one of the numerous lessons for key-happy fon users whose fingers have already been glued to their fons in a way that they dont see it as something dat can cause trouble. Last year my female colleague tho junior to me but not in my directorate mistakenly sent a txt message to me in d middle of the nite: "dav, I cant sleep! Am missing THINGS o! U lied to me yur wife is bak! Why? I saw her younger sis n jovialy enquired of her n she let d cat out she was still outa town! Am hot like furnace cave and wet like a dripping sponge! Pls come"
It was a terrible phenomenon. Truth is coincidentally my wife was out of town and came bak a day earlier and my name is david.
That girl usually call me sir, why should she store my name as david to warrant such devastating mistake? Cos she must have other davs in her fon! This issue added fire to our then already rickety matrimony. But all is well now. May God help us all.
Sometimes, people intentionally send amorous txt messages sake of certain ulterior motif and later claim to hav done so by mistake. Presently there is dis lady dat has a crush on me and somtimes will call my line and leave it running without saying a word! I hav talked to her to desist from it but she insist her fon is sometimes wid her4yr old niece who might fiddle wid d fon aimlessly into placing calls unknowingly. I hav had many experience in these things dat itz now like home to me. From d age of 30 to 45, married, fairly comfortable and macho-goodlookin, am told such encounter is bound to frequent yur path by the opposit sex.
