elampiro: United played with 10 men for 45 minutes and lost 1-6.you need to take more cod liver oil to help your memory. we were walloped 1-6 cos at no point in that game did united give up on trying to equalise - and that was why city players were taken apart yesterday by sky pundits. they rolled over after mata's goal. they accepted the loss even before the game was over. in the 1-6 loss, as at the 90th minute, the score was 3-1. yet, united kept pouring men forward looking for means to equalise and showing a fighting attitude till the end. they didn't care if more goals were conceded, they just refused to roll over & accept the loss. Your crashing is getting worse the more you try to be clever.but they lost only one game! now that he's back, they have lost about 5 away games in a row. they didn't win any champions league game when toure was in the team. in toure's absence hey beat bayern @ home and killed roma away from home - those were only the 2 games they won in their entire european campaign. they also lost community shield to arsënal with toure in the team. coincidence? * Carrick is the worst in interception for us this season. Save us sermons from 1930. Jones always one of our best in interception since his arrival. This season Jones is still best.carrick is the club's best interceptor in years. the reason is number is low this term was because his presence in the team coincided with most of our wins & we bossed possession in most of those games to the point that there's virtually nothing to intercept. we outpassed city last night & we hugged the bulk of the possession. however, when he's absent, the midfield collapses and we come against lots of pressure from the opponents. i don't just make claims without having my statistical evidence to back my claims. www.nairaland.com/attachments/2306441_image_jpeg9f360c5ab7736510df54c882e9dbf188 the above is carrick's historical stats on interception. i dare you to find any united player who has intercepted as high as 4.4/game in the history of the club. jones(your hero) has 3.5 as his highest in his entire career. khaki isn't leather. I favour varied talent of midfielders even the very slow ones. Why do I like Scholes and Xavi?busquets is the best DM in the world. that you prefer pace & power doesn't make it the ideal way to go about it. this is why busquets is keeping towering players like toure & mascherano away from the DM position. it's about intelligence, not running around like a headless chicken. Carrick will not be relevant today if someone like Fellaini is not in our midfield three. Is Fellaini is taken off and there is no one like do the damage for us in that area, Carrick and Herrera wont be able to cope with the oppositions running riot on us. I wont forget to mention that Valencia offers him a helping hand.was carrick relevant when he destroyed toure at the etihad in 12/13? abi fellaini helped him out then? what about when carrick destroyed ramires at stamford bridge in the same season? cleverley must have been a mascherano type that was helping carrick back then to beat teams with gorillas in their midfield. after cleverley destroyed toure in the 2nd half of the community shield in 2011, i finally came to conclusion that midfield battle is brains over brawns.Players like Hargreaves, Mascherano, Kean, are needed in a team. The problem Madrid has today is that of a proper DM who can stop oppositions.they are not needed! spain didn't have a single player like this in their midfield when they won euro 2008, world cup 2010 & euro 2012. you should watch the final of 2010 world cup and see how busquets kept de jong & van bommel at arm's length or how busquets destroyed schweinsteiger & khedira in the semis. |

elampiro:this is nothing, absolutely nothing. who gives such excuse in public? anyone can as well roll out their team B to start the season & finish strongly with their first 11 pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffftttttttttttttttttttttttttt |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 5:02pm On Apr 13, 2015 |
elampiro:the positions are irrelevant. herrera is scoring from the midfield - smalling is scoring from the defence. why should rooney not score? he passes it to the wing and makes a run into the box to score from crosses. which of his goals did he score from the centre of the pitch? ![]() Herrera is an attacking midfielder. Rooney was a deep lying midfielder without license to move forward considering Young and Fellaini left a vacuum in our midfield. Even Carrick was injured for a while. You dont just know ball sef. Even Mc Nair had to play some matches.what is smalling?? an attacking defender? ![]() Are you counting those matches we played before the transfer window was closed? When the team didnt know its left from its right?if i counted it for van persie then rooney isn't excluded. rooney scored against swansea - that was before the transfer window closed. Meanwhile, Rooney has 6 goals as a centre forward. Then he has scored every time he played the number 10.rooney has scored 4 league goals in 11 games as a centre forward - it's not just good enough for an elite striker. if rooney as a striker was tearing the net when the season first started, he wouldn't have been moved deeper in the midfield. SailorXY:unfortunately, elampawa has no shame. he would look for the most ridiculous excuses when he's ran out of things to say. why are chelsea players not tired? they have the thinnest squad in the league and yet they keep winning. they played in europe, went all the way in carling cup and they have only 15 players they use consistently. |

coogar:It's a shame you have lost this argument woefully. * City played 10 man for 79 mins and lost 2-3, we were begging for the ref to off the game. United played 10 men for 45 mins and lost 1-6. * Toure did not play first leg against Barcelona, so I don't know how you compute your yeye stats. When Toure was away, City won 1/6 period!. He couldn't have recovered from playing 8 matches in 3 weeks under African sun. * You are giving us Carrick interception per game. What does anyone do with that? You arent comparing him with anyone else. Anyway, this season we can see, he doesn't intercept. If you like deceive yourself with 1930 stories. * Busquet will be the worst DM if he were to play for Madrid. Mascherano is the best DM in the world. Although a most valued utility player. Coogar this argument is over. Few weeks ago, Rooney was far ahead of everyone on goals/minute, you did not compare him with RVP. I KNEW YOU WOULD START COMPARING HIM WHEN HE MISTAKENLY FALL SHORT OF RVP. THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN YOU WAYS. IF I DID SAME THING, I WOULD CAUSE AN EARTHQUAKE HERE WITH ARGUMENTS. All these while I knew Rooney had overtaken everyone on goals per minute, yet I did not use it against your RVP as*s lickers. Same way I woundn't say RVP has been our bad luck since. But you are just possessed, carried away with any player that has good looks. Are you an ugly fat man or a gay? I wonder. Bye I need to take a break. |

coogar:Stop all these lies. FRooney has not scored 4 goals as a CF. I listed his matches but you are looking at whoscored data which is not accurate. Rooney has not played 4 matches as a AMC. Although that is were he has wrecked his most damage to oppositions with goals and assists. On stats he is the best there in the league. Coogar, go ahead with your Rooney hate. I am off here. |

elampiro:whoscored data isn't accurate? i never thought i would see the day elampiro would disagree with the holy bible of his football stats. so who should we listen to? you? ![]() you had his 2 goals against sunderland in your list. did falcao not start against sunderland? if falcao was on the pitch, how the hell was rooney the main striker on the night? it's time to sing ayagayagayo for yourself. ![]() Rooney has not played 4 matches as a AMC. Although that is were he has wrecked his most damage to oppositions with goals and assists. On stats he is the best there in the league.he has played 4 matches as an attacking midfielder(centre) and has scored 4 goals there. that stat is irrelevant anyways. it's the CF stats that is getting my goat. ![]() Coogar, go ahead with your Rooney hate. I am off here.i don't hate rooney he's not good enough to lead the line. VP's min/goal is better than rooney's - statistics prove that. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Nobody: 5:33pm On Apr 13, 2015 |
pazienza:Excuse upon Excuse. This was the same thing u pple said when we played Spurs and Liverpool. Now u're using it for City. City might be on a decline but they came into yesterday's game willing to murder us as could be seen in the first 10-15 minutes. But we raised our game after that and we played so well, we made City look bad. So u sef beat Chelsea first. And if u can also beat us at OT for the second time of asking, i'll give ur team the respect it deserves |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Nobody: 6:36pm On Apr 13, 2015 |
coogar:For an out-and-out winger, Valencia is awesome defensively. No matter how fast u are, u simply can't outpace him. And Aguero is faster than Valencia. See how d fans behind the goal cheered him on. l'm confident he can lock down Hazard this weekend. Rafael is a volatile player. He woulda definitely fouled Aguero there |

Since the arrival of new players in September, it's only Newcastle and Liverpool matches Rooney has played as a number 9, that he has not recorded either a goal or/and Assist. Even Newcastle. He forced a goal by his deadly last minute chase. |

elampiro:what has the arrival of new players gotta do with this? are you going to cancel the goal rooney scored against swansea @OT? it was before the arrival of the new players too. where did rooney play when we beat southampton 2-1? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SailorXY: 9:14pm On Apr 13, 2015 |
afrodoc2:fair enough. with four wingers, remember Mata also found a spot on the wings. also if we will sign a new RB, Valencia is also freed up to add competition on the right side. we still have a matter of Januzaj & Lingard to consider. more realistically, di Maria is going no where after only a season. Depay or Reus may also require a season to settle in & we experience a di Maria-sque routine 2.0. I'll personally keep one of RvP or Falcao, buy a Carrick replacement, Rafael & Valencia to keep fighting for the RB except an Alves is willing to join us, sign an Evans replacement(if necessary) add a young forward & return Nani or buy Reus. this CB thing is just dicey cuz of injuries, for me. if @ least 70% of our current CBs can be fit @ every given time, that's all! this will be good enough for next season |

after cleverley destroyed toure in the 2nd half of the community shield in 2011, i finally came to conclusion that midfield battle is brains over brawns.
