Before the arrival of new players, we were shyte. RVP did not score in that period too.
you like shifting arguments....

you said rooney has scored 6 goals when he's played as CF. you fraudulently counted the 2 goals he scored against sunderland @OT, he wasn't a CF that night, he played as an AM behind falcao.

so deduct 2 from 6 and you would have the 4 goals whoscored put correctly in the graphics. in a nutshell, rooney has 4 league goals in 11 apps as the CF. good enough to lead us? hell no.

That's an HD. You wont get it better. The only flaw is the Arab commentary. You will see the highlights from several angles.

If he played AM that night, then Rooney has more than four goals as an AM. It means he also has played less than 11 matches. I am not even considering the number of times he was pushed backward to midfield after starting as a striker.

stop making your argument, dude!

you said if rooney had been playing as CF all season, he would have had the same numbers as aguero, costa, kane, etc.

i disagreed & i said rooney isn't as good as that elite group. i said rooney has only 4 league goals in 11 games in the CF position. what has that gotta do with AM position?

Rooney is better than those guys as a CF.

Those guys were told they would be centre fowards and they were prepared for it. Yet they also have their dry period.

Rooney was used as a second striker in a 3-5-2. Then he would be dropped to midfield when Falcao is introduced. Rooney has 5 goals since he has played as a lone striker, plus the FA Cup. Despite being dropped to midfield in second half of games, this record is better than those strikers you mentioned.

Now using your argument, Roonehy's 1 goal+ per match from the number 10 is the best in the EPL. This therefore means all such number 10s like Silva, Fellaini are inferior to Rooney in the hole.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 10:25pm On Apr 13, 2015
Coogar, when Rooney scored the second goal vs Sunderland, was he still plying behind Falcao?

Infact, that day I actually thought Rooney was Falcao's partner.

falcao doesn't get introduced until the 60th/70th minute? what had rooney achieved until falcao comes on board?

Now using your argument, Roonehy's 1 goal+ per match from the number 10 is the best in the EPL. This therefore means all such number 10s like Silva, Fellaini are inferior to Rooney in the hole.
hahahaha......
that would be true if rooney doesn't have to take awoof penalties to pad up the stats. as an AM, it's not so much about the goals scored, but the goals created or key passes created.

rooney falls flat in the face when you consider that. cheesy

falcao won the penalty, rooney scored the pen. falcao went off for fellaini, rooney became the CF & he got the second goal.

Michael Carrick was again absolutely outstanding at the base of the Manchester United midfield. He won 100% of his tackles, completed 92% of his passes and made fourinterceptions. The perfect performance in terms of a midfield pivot and a defensive screen for his back four.

Confirmed Rooney played as a striker vs Sunderland- TELEGRAPH, GOAL.COM, BBC AND DAILY MAIL.

That was what happened that day, although he dropped deep sometimes into pocket spaces to try create chances.

...............................................

* There was more. Here was Wayne Rooney scoring the two goals as he played as a striker – the role he wants to fill and which Van Gaal has resisted using him in for much of this campaign as he strives to find his best permutations.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/premier-league/11442002/Manchester-United-2-Sunderland-0-match-report-Red-card-farce-at-Old-Trafford-as-referee-Roger-East-sends-off-wrong-man.html

*The wingers, Ashley Young and Angel Di Maria, were playing as wide as they could and there were two recognised strikers, in Wayne Rooney and RadameL- Dialy mail.

From the above, Rooney scored two as a striker. So Rooney has 6 goals as a striker. Dont mention penalty because RVP scores penalty and you don't discount them.

Rooney played as a pair striker with Falcao. That was what I saw and that is what BBC, Goal.com, Telegraph and Daily mail reported.

Rooney has 6 goals as a striker.

Since the new Man United, Rooney has 5 EPL goals, 3 Assists in 8 matches as a striker.

He didn't even complete some of the matches in the striking role.

Same way OPTA saw Ozil playing in the hole against Bayern Munich whereas he actually played in the wing. grin grin

They also saw Kagawa in the hole whereas Januzaj was used in the hole when Kagawa was sent wide.

Countless time within 3 weeks I proved OPTA wrong four times.

rooney played in the hole against sunderland - we haven't played a 2-striker formation since RVP got injured.

in a nutshell, rooney is hopeless as a CF.

When RVP was injured, Rooney was sent forward to replace him. So we played two strikers. I saw it with my eyes. Post match reports by several media houses reported it same way I saw it. Fast forward a month later, Coogar decided to believe in pre-match charts and graphs. grin
fair enough. with four wingers, remember Mata also found a spot on the wings. also if we will sign a new RB, Valencia is also freed up to add competition on the right side. we still have a matter of Januzaj & Lingard to consider.

more realistically, di Maria is going no where after only a season. Depay or Reus may also require a season to settle in & we experience a di Maria-sque routine 2.0.4

I'll personally keep one of RvP or Falcao, buy a Carrick replacement, Rafael & Valencia to keep fighting for the RB except an Alves is willing to join us, sign an Evans replacement(if necessary) add a young forward & return Nani or buy Reus.

this CB thing is just dicey cuz of injuries, for me. if @ least 70% of our current CBs can be fit @ every given time, that's all!

this will be good enough for next season[/quote
]

There is ZERO utility in keeping falcao...or RVP for that matter. We have to ensure we improve our forward play and these 2 geriatric men wont help us going forward.
U have a point regarding mata but no way is valencia going to ever compete for winger position again.....God forbid bad thing.
We need a younger faster CF to move to the next level next season , make no mistake about it. If not it will be another "nearly" season

We have experimented how these things work. You yourself said we should not rely on whoscored formation chart after an argument.

During the Ozil, Kagawa etc argument, I followed the way these things work. I stated them here. I was on whoscored from 1st minute till the end of several matches across weeks, and I saw how the scores automatically adjusted. The initial raw format is gotten from OPTA.

You are the one running out of excuses, relying on graphs and charts we already agreed were not to be relied on for match formations.

Coolie-guy Tortoise, no matter the cunning you employ here, it wont work. grin

you can rely on them after the game. when opta & whoscored agree on a formation, it's always the truth. yes, there are few times when the managers make a last minute switch after giving the press association a different list - however, rooney played in the hole against sunderland.

you have reiterated my point.
they might get it wrong before or during the game, they don't get it wrong after the game. the graphics i provided is after the game so why do you still doubt it?

you no wan gree rooney is useless as a CF? grin

They have gotten it wrong after a game countless times. This is not even disputable.

You are now sounding ridiculous sef.

BBC, goal.com, telegraph, daily mail that makes post match report cannot all be wrong against whoscored and opta which uses pre-match format to run their show. OPTA doesn't change it's format, whoscored sometimes adjust after 5 minutes of play and they do get it wrong several times.

why do you feel the need to lie when you have been swallowed by a superior argument? will it kill you if you accept rooney is inferior to kane, aguero & costa?

All I know is that Rooney has 6 goals as a striker, you are making a case for RVP to start against Chelsea. It wont happen Coolie-guy Tortoise.

what do you think of a lower profile but experienced CF like Benteke?

I'm more concerned about experience through the middle, it helps coordination. we can see the effect of it with Carrick in midfield & non-effect in central defence.

benteke is a 3rd-tier striker.
we need an elite striker - young, pacy, good finisher, etc. we should throw £30m at lacazette. he's the striker with the biggest potential out there. lewandowski would be a steal too.
