coogar: elampiro:Even using your logic, you are not helping yourself. You claimed he played 22 minutes upfront against Sunderland and he scored. This is even better than scoring 2 goals in 90 minutes. Let's end this. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 11:28am On Apr 14, 2015 |
^^^ Rooney was subbed out on 86th minute. Then Rooney scored a goal in 18 minutes on his return as a striker this year. ![]() Finito! |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 11:34am On Apr 14, 2015 |
elampiro:sunderland is not the average measure of strength in the premier league. remember, rooney had done nothing till the 67th minute when falcao won that penalty & brown got sent off. rooney played upfront for 22 mins but it was against 10-men it's a disaster that he didn't get a hatrick after falcao left. the initial argument was if rooney could have matched aguero/costa if he had been playing as a striker throughout the season & the answer is no. he was the poorest player on the pitch on sunday against man city. in a game we dominated for most parts, rooney recorded the lowest number of touches in his man utd career. give it up, rooney is piss-poor in the striking role. it's not everyday he would play against a 10-man sunderland at old trafford. against the big sides, rooney is useless.

Go and sleep, you have been checkmated. If Rooney had continued playing the number 9 after the QPR game, he would be on 25 goals already. If we prorate his time in the number even at this run-in Rush back to striking role, Rooney is doing very great. I am not even adding assist. |

What about touches again. Go and check RVP, COSTA and co, they have recorded lower touches even in games they scored. Rooney was well involved that was what matter. Even 2012/13 I am sure you will have many RVP lower number of touches. Na wao! Coogar sef! Wetin u see for Rooney side? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 11:44am On Apr 14, 2015 |
elampiro:buhahahaha after providing about 20 different sports sites including FAPL's official site that says rooney played in the hole, you are still talking about checkmate? ![]() elampiro:the touches explain how much little influence rooney has as a striker in big games. the game passed him by at anfield & it passed him by on sunday. we had the bulk of the possession and we outpassed city & yet, rooney recorded his lowest number of touches in his 13-year football career in the PL. ![]() |

two brothers at it again |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 11:57am On Apr 14, 2015 |
coogar:Rooney has destroyed all big clubs in EPL. He has scored most goals against City. He has destroyed them with bicycle kicks, headers etc.He scored a vital goal for an important first leg away lone goal win at Stamford Bridge in only UCL fixture there. This season he has scored against Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham. In one of our recent matches, Rooney's goal was wrongly cancelled. I think that was against Spurs when he rounded the keeper. Against Arsenal his was wrongly called offside once and in another occasion, Di MARIA wasted his good see through pass. Enough said for now. I have already checkmated twice. Have a good day. ![]() |

elampiro:I just dug up his posts to let him see how he talks from the two sides of his mouth, without rooney, united would be doomed. Spot on elamps, my other acct was blocked |

nyabinghi:Coogar is a case, I swear. I have never seen where one is so persistent in bringing only negative things to run someone down. Nothing this guy has not brought forward to use to negative-mark Rooney for about three years I have been here. I remember that goal Ilisted above against Fulham. The game was deadlock at 89th minute and Rooney scored a most intelligent goal from a solo effort in a tight run-in of 2012/13. Yet we get told Rooney just blast the ball he doesnt place it. My guy. Take care. I want to log out for a long time. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 12:04pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
elampiro:and why does the golden boot award continue to evade him? destroyers of big clubs usually have something to show for it at the end of the season. This season he has scored against Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham. In one of our recent matches, Rooney's goal was wrongly cancelled. I think that was against Spurs when he rounded the keeper.he didn't play as a striker when he scored these goals. mata has scored against liverpool 3 times & scored against city on sunday. should we play him as a lead striker then? |

Story story, story!!!!! Coogar, enjoy you fantasy football of Man United team/squad without Rooney. Everyone else who shares your dreams can keep aligning with you every time. As for me, you can never tortoise me. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 12:12pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
elampiro:but those things are not manufactured from a baboon's arsë.....they are facts. do you have any evidence that proves rooney didn't record his career lowest number of touches on sunday? ![]() I remember that goal Ilisted above against Fulham. The game was deadlock at 89th minute and Rooney scored a most intelligent goal from a solo effort in a tight run-in of 2012/13. Yet we get told Rooney just blast the ball he doesnt place it.RVP saved us more than rooney did in 12/13. had RVP joined city that season, city would have won the title again. there's hardly any away ground RVP didn't score that season. he scored at white hart lane, emirates, etihad, anfield & stamford bridge......he was the difference between us & man city that year My guy. Take care. I want to log out for a long time.goodnight, elampawa. may the gods of your ancestors be with you as you log out. ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 12:17pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
elampiro:of course, we need rooney's energy - but we need it more on the bench. he's not pulling trees as a striker & he's useless in the hole. carrick & herrera would lock the midfield down till blind goes back.so you see, rooney isn't an expert in any role in the squad. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:22pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
Without RVP we did better in 2011/2012. If Scholes had played the whole of 2011/12, we would have won the league by March ending. With Scholes around in 2012/13, Chicha /& Welbeck would have delivered the goals in front of Rooney. They were better equipped than they were in 2011/12. * 2011/12 without Van Persie, Man United 89 points/ 89 goals scored/ 33 GA/ GD +56 * 2012/13 with Van Persie, Manchester United 89 pts/ 86 GF/ 43 GA/ 43 +GD Man City lost form towards the end of 2012/13 season and that made it easy for us. RVP added no value what so ever. We would still have won it. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:27pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
coogar:Stop quoting me. Your opinion is only good for your fantasy. Rooney is our best striker at the moment. Chikena! Goals, Assists and Chances created are the best. His overall build up play and balance on the ball is best for us. It's easy to praise Herrera and co when we have won 6/6. The last time we won 7/7 or in the 10 match unbeaten run, Rooney was in our midfield playing in front of three defenders. We had two hyenas losing possessions in the attack as they get bullied off the ball. We didnt have Fellaini, Carrick and Young fit all though that period. YET WE WON 7/7. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 12:30pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
elampiro:we did better yet we won nothing. ![]() With Scholes around in 2012/13, Chicha /& Welbeck would have delivered the goals in front of Rooney. They were better equipped than they were in 2011/12.and yet we were dumped out of UCL at the group stage? we even got caned in europa by bilbao. so much for being well-equipped. * 2011/12 without Van Persie, Man United 89 points/ 89 goals scored/ 33 GA/ GD +56united won the league with 4 games to go in 2012/13 and then started throwing games away as the players couldn't be arsëd anymore. lost to city, chelsea @ OT....drew west brom 5-5. we finished 11 points ahead of our closest rivals. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:33pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
Let Herrera, Carrick and Mata play in the midfield in 3-5-2 formation and let's see if they wont be slaughtered. Not to mention playing with McNair as one of the three. Or having Januzaj, falling falling Falcao, posssion losing Di Maria in the team too. When Herrera, Carrick and Mata played against Wayanma, they got devoured for lunch. Ukwu! |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:36pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
coogar:You need to take some logic lessons. If Scholes were around or without too many injuries in 2011/12, we wont even play Europa. We would have won the league in March. City fighting spirit would have died in January. Not to mention SAF goofings in dropping Rooney against Blackburn. He underrated Wigan and Newcastle and dropped Scholes in one or both games. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 12:40pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
elampiro:buhahahaha - won in march my foot! have you ever heard of a team winning the PL with 8 games to go? you talk rubbish for an old man. RVP was the difference abeg & that was why rooney went to fergie to cry. he couldn't stomach the fact that he had little influence in the victory. see what mancini said.....

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:42pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
Mancini didnt know what he was saying. He was trying to blame the board for his failure when he knew sack was inevitable. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SailorXY: 12:42pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
elampiro:you have seen that Rooney is not a midfielder, neither was LvG right in his persistence with 3-5-2 formation. end of stories. the next time you see Rooney's name on this board, you should soji nu & life will still go on as usually bros. your monthly income will not be deducted ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:46pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
SailorXY:Rooney has been a great midfielder under SAF before Herrera and co and so shall it be for ever. Rooney in midfield we won successive matches with 3-5-2. With 4-4-2, Rooney will destroy teams in the midfield. Like he destroyed Villa, Stoke etc in the past. I cant imagine how free Rooney will be to annihilate opponents when there are Valencia, Young, Fellaini out there, plus Jones and Smalling giving him a high defence line. mehn...... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 12:52pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
elampiro:so why did rooney cry to fergie? the first time he threw his toy outta the pram, it was because he felt we weren't signing enough quality players. fergie signed the best player in the league - he scored his first hatrick for us on matchday 3 in a difficult away game at southampton & his goals got us the title. his goals gave us the win @ liverpool, chelsea & city. had RVP joined city that season, they woulda won the title. he was the difference. rooney was reduced to a bench warmer & i fear ruudie is right by saying maybe putting rooney on the bench again like fergie did is the only way we can ever win the title again. |

coogar:RVP is just an opportunist. We were positioned to win the 2012/13 title after Scholes had returned to help us from day 1. Our injuries too were far better. RVP that couldnt win with Fabregas, Song, Nasri, Walcott, Ashanvi, all supporting him. He left and Arsenal resurrected. |

coogar:Arsenal would have won the league with Rooney's over team play. Not one who wants to score all the goals and block the routes to others. |
