elampiro:block the routes to others, you say? his assists stats when he won the golden boot were in double digits. RVP scores as many as he assists. each time rooney scores past 25 goals, his assists dry up. ![]() |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 1:11pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
coogar:Opportunist hyna blocking routes. Always in the box scoring from 6 yard regions. Anyone in the 6 yard region will have assists. But when he cant score, the entire team dies. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 1:19pm On Apr 14, 2015*. Modified: 1:38pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
elampiro:RVP 11/12 - 30 goals, 14 assists 12/13 - 26 goals, 15 assists rooney 09/10 - 26 goals, 5 assists 11/12 - 27 goals, 7 assists as you can see, rooney is the hyena. when he scores plenty of goals, he doesn't provide for others. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 1:40pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
coogar:RVP is the hynea because these are inbox issues. Should I bring forward the midfield stats, Rooney will fly higher than RVP like an astronaut jet over an company chopper. Check the number of passes that has to do with build up play. But you can lie. RVP never had these Assist. Check your opta. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 1:43pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
elampiro:opta's way of counting assists are different to the premier league standard. for instance, opta didn't give an assist to falcao when he won that penalty that rooney scored against sunderland.......but premier league counted it for him. |

elampiro:I've been supporting Rooney since the day he became a United. Your problem is you fail to agree he has regressed tremendously; he's currently just ok and nothing more. Problem is when you join the English press to hype him to Ronaldo's level. I've got no issue with any player as long as we keep taking the 3pts. Just tell him, since your are the closest to him here, to work on that his awful 1st touch cos it spoils our play upfront and surrenders the ball to the opponent. #WekeepMarchingOn |

chrisley024:35 touches on sunday - the poorest in his career. even in the games we have been tonked, rooney would normally get 70 touches if he completes 90 mins. you could see the game passed him by apart from the pass to mata which should have been an offside call anyways. i like how this new system benefits the midfielders....na rooney sabi. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 2:03pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
coogar:Mata was offside cos it takes Rooney 10-20 secs to control a pass and his turning took him same amount of time before he then made the pass. smh We should give one Orijin to that linesman. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 2:15pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
chrisley024:you cannot blame rooney he turns at the speed of earth revolution. i was happy the goal counted though. in 12/13, ashley young was denied a valid goal @ the etihad. https://i.minus.com/iRm1zqrmre55q.gif |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 2:15pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
chrisley024:Rooney's record in unsuccessful touch is best among the strikers and wingers, except Ashley Young. It's even better than Rafael's. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 2:22pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
chrisley024:How long did he take Rooney to control a cross from Di Maria and then turned 180 degree to smash it in against Villa. * Rooney controlled and turned well against City. You guys must find excuse. Na today we dey see offside from not properly timed run against a pass or a pass against a run? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 2:38pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
let's talk tactics..... how do we approach the chelsea game? same team or should we tweak? make no mistakes about it, pochettino, rodgers & pellegrini dropped a ball for not addressing our dominant left side - jose mourinho would sort that out. i see him playing 5-5-0 or 4-6-0 zouma would join the midfield containing matic & ramires. hazard & willian would flank them & one of fabregas & oscar would play as false 9. jose would play for a draw. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 3:03pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
Chelsea are a different kettle of fish because they wont try to win. This makes them more dangerous as theyre play for a draw and probably get it or beat us if we get over confident and attack too much. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 3:07pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
MrTA:he's a tactical wizard & he's not ashamed to play for a draw. he would tell his players to be patient, look out & punish us for our mistakes(phil jones love for backpasses), score and lock up the game completely. if we can manage to score first, we would beat chelsea easily. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Nobody: 3:30pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
MrTA:What makes you think Chelsea wont play to win? Take into cognizance that we are playing before our home fans, we are yet to record a home loss and have been held to a draw just thrice this season at home, we are not yet champions, we have Arsenal hot on our heels and manyoo aren't even the best side in England. Why would we want to settle for a draw? Answers on a postcard please. |

coogar:I see no wizardry in what he does - Mourinho. just a damage limitation plan whenever he comes up against a team he believes has a chance to beat him. the game against Liverpool last season was a classic example, for all my joy & jumps @ Liverpool being stopped in their tracks - it was a gory sight. we have seen the same against Man City this season even against 10 men @ home. you can play poorly & win sometimes, but when the prototype is "play poorly & ensure the others do the same" before the ref's kick-off whistle, then there's nothing genius about it. make no mistake, this is not the same thing as setting up a team for counter-attack football. he can import gorillas from South Sudan to play in midfield & defence by the weekend - it won't change a thing. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 4:11pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
SailorXY:the ultimate is the points - how you get there is irrelevant. jose is a masterful tactician - to deny him that would be tantamount to a treasonable felony. sometimes, we should be humble enough to give rivals their credits. mourinho is a genius! you can play poorly & win sometimes, but when the prototype is "play poorly & ensure the others do the same" before the ref's kick-off whistle, then there's nothing genius about it.it's called adaptation! his team is not playing too well. many of his performers are fatigued or injured. united are in red-hot form. it would be foolish of him to go gung-ho against us like he would approach hull or leicester. make no mistake, this is not the same thing as setting up a team for counter-attack football. he can import gorillas from South Sudan to play in midfield & defence by the weekend - it won't change a thing.his main priority is not to get beaten. a loss at this stage might start a rot for them like we have seen with liverpool & city. he has to manage the situation by getting draws against the big teams left for him to play & go gung-ho against the smaller sides. |

@Elamp, Thanks. Works greatly! ;( |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SailorXY: 4:25pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
coogar:what was he adapting to when he played United & City in the first leg & City in the second leg? his was the red-hot form team yet he found a way to stay defensive 60% of the game. this is just his style - look @ Chelsea against Moyes' United @ Old Trafford last season - what was he adapting to? his team only came up to play football @ Stamford Bridge when Moyes has been shown up to be a biitch.he has good management skills, I'm not taking nothing away from him, but he's always in shells against teams perceived to have equal or better strength - we shouldn't expect anything else from him this weekend! |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 4:41pm On Apr 14, 2015 |
SailorXY:united were the defendingchampions then.... they had just destroyed a good swansea side 4-1 on the back of winning the community shield. we were still feared as at the time chelsea came to OT. he did the right thing by not getting trounced. he was away from home to the champions. he has good management skills, I'm not taking nothing away from him, but he's always in shells against teams perceived to have equal or better strength - we shouldn't expect anything else from him this weekend!so what do you expect? go gung-ho against a team that have got better strength? how did we play against barca over 2 legs in 07/08? would you have preferred gung-ho football only to get beat 4-0 in both legs? |

chrisley024:what line up will you opt for? assume Mourinho deploys Zouma & Matic in DM with Ramirez on the right wing, how do you think we can counter that tactically? |

I have a 'ritual' I do recently for days before our games and it has been working perfectly. Coogar has to beg me to commence this difficult ritual ASAP, otherwise Jones back pass meets Hazard...... ![]() |

elampiro:i won't beg you.... ![]() the earlier jones screws up, the better for me. i hope his back pass meets hazard so that van gaal can sell him to real sociedad. |
