CyanogenMod is an aftermarket firmware for a number of cell phones based on the open-source Android operating system. It offers features not found in the official Android based firmwares of vendors.

Yeah , only that cyanogenmod gives you a stock android experience i.e no unnecessary bloats , faster and smoother experience and finally , Cyanogenmod will get your device updated to android's most current OS;as long as your device is among cyanogenmod's supported devices list.
