And do you know the PDP split because of Jonathan's ambition to contest for a second term. Without that split will the APC have won, no. But that is politics. People vote for all sorts of reasons. It has been my complaint. The average northerner voted GMB because they felt it was the best opportunity at grabbing power back. Why should the average Rivers man apologise for sectional voting. Please if you must have principles apply them across board. What is good elsewhere is good in Rivers. Vice President Sambo lost in his kitchen and people are happy. Amaechi loses in his state and Rivers people are castigated. Why.

In Lagos we saw a Jimi Agbaje torn to shreds in the media for not only opposing the order but soliciting the support of 'foreigners' to plan a 'coup'. He eventually lost and was gracious in defeat.

Rivers people too are saying to Jimi Amaechi, it is unacceptable to stand against the order and connive with 'foreigners'. This is a structural problem. It is bad but what is good in Lagos is good in Rivers. Whenever such negative attitude will change, it must change for all and not just the Rivers man or the east.

amaechi weathered the storm against the following adversaries : Goodluck Jonathan, patience Jonathan, the army, the police, the inec commissioner, nyesom wike, Joseph mbu, Niger delta militants. Let's wait and see what wike will do. It's not by shouting everywhere like a tout because you have the federal government behind you, he won't last a heartbeat.

There was a re-run election in Emohua LG yesterday. PDP trashed APC again. Truth is with or without Federal might, some states are no-go Areas for APC.

If a free and credible election was to be conducted right now, Wike would most likely win. But the point is that wike did not bank of his numbers during the elections. The desperation by some big forces to recapture rivers state did not allow them to depend on numbers. This was evident when buhari trounced him in every poll conducted before the elections including his own ait. Try to rig in South west and North those people for die with those police and inec. I have keenly followed your comments in several posts regarding the contentious Soku Oil Wells. You have always painted GEJ and PGEJ as those behind the re-allocation of Soku Oil Wells to Bayelsa and Rotimi Amaechi as the Saint who is fighting to reclaim these oil wells for Rivers State. I wish to use this medium to correct the falsehood you have been selling to innocent Nairalanders on this vexatious issue. Note the following points regarding the truth of this conflict:

1. I am a Rivers man from Abonnema in Akuku-Toru LGA, the same LGA that the Soku Oil Wells originally belong to. As such, I have no reason to rejoice over the loss of such oil wells since the loss in allocation/ revenue affects my people negatively.
2. This dispute started long before GEJ became President, and so no one in his or her right senses would claim that he gave Rivers Oil wells to Bayelsa State.
3.This dispute was as a result of an error in the boundary delineation between Rivers State and Bayelsa States by the NBC in the 11th edition of the Administration map of Nigeria which erroneously shifted the boundary from the original boundary at Santa Barbara River to San Batholomew River
4. The 11th edition of the Administrative map was prepared in 1999 and published in 2000 by which time Rotimi Amaechi was the Speaker of the RSHA while GEJ was Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State. Could GEJ as Deputy Governor have influenced the error on the map? Your guess is as good as mine.
5. The Rivers State Government petitioned the NBC and on the 3rd of July 2002 got apologies from the NBC and a promise to correct the error in the 12th edition of the Administrative map. That, we are still waiting for.
6.In 2011, Rivers State, now under Amaechi, went to court asking the Supreme Court to declare that the Soku fields are in Rivers State and that all allocations due it be given to Rivers State. On 10th July 2012, the Supreme Court unanimously struck out the case stating that it is in no right to grant the relief/declarations sought by the Plaintiff (Rivers State) until the NBC concludes it's work on the final delineation of the boundary between the two states in the expected 12th edition of the Administrative map of Nigeria.

My Point/Position

I strongly believe and hold that the disputed oilfield belongs to Rivers State but the cause of the dispute is neither GEJ nor PGEJ as you want Nairalanders to believe. This is so because the Genesis of the dispute predates Jonathan's Presidency and only became an issue in the public domain when Amaechi started his opposition politics. He was simply hiding behind that dispute to mask his real reasons for defecting from the PDP.
If Amaechi really loves us (Soku people) and is fighting for us, then I ask: Can he or You show the world one single laudable project he executed in the Oceania area of Akuku-Toru LGA of which Soku belongs? The answer is as good as your guess.

PS.
TheGood Joe, please stop labelling Rivers People as ungrateful to Amaechi. We are not ungrateful. It has not always been like this; We loved him when he was performing!

After your long historical lessons, the facts are,

1. Those Oil Wells belongs to the Rivers People.
2. GEJ unjustly took away the Rivers People's Oil Wells (Despite the Historical despute). The body apologized for the mistake but GEJ signed those wells out of Rivers State.
3. Gov. Amaechi fell out with GEJ because of it.
4. Are you saying GEJ is powerless to correct such injustice?
So, some Rivers people still call Gov. Amaechi a traitor. And, you think they are not ingrates.
5. I can show you projects he did for Rivers State, not just an area. Can you show me one GEJ did for Rivers State. GEJ took your allocation for your area but you guys love him.

They prefer a GEJ who did nothing for them to a Gov. Amaechi who did a lot for them and you say their not ingrates.

ABEG, THOSE RIVERS PEOPLE WHO HATE GOV. AMAECHI FOR NO REASON ARE INGRATES.

You guys always make GEJ look powerless to do the right thing.

Your post has summarised it all.

Back to topic. I ddnt see any manifesto here. The likes of igbinedion, TA orji, alams, babangida aliyu said same things. The manifesto we need is one that will outline in specific terms where we are and where we are headed. For instance in rivers state the health centres have been built, the primary and, model schs to a large extent have been built and equiped, the roads have either been completed or ongoing. Wike should release a workable document outlining his plans. This thing u pple call manifesto is too generic and empty. Trust me nobody can hold him on this. If he renovates one village primary sch he will say i promise to revamp education and i have fulfilled my promise.
