You need to be more specific, what about networking would you like to learn/know?

I am actually trying to familiarise myself with cisco router and all that. i have a new work challenge to manage cisco ASA, load balance, NATTING etc, but i am new to cisco so I want to setup a simulation lab to start learning cisco commands and then develop the skills i need n the work. Hope i am clear enough. So i need help not to setup a cisco simulation environment.

That's a lot of concepts to try to master at once. When you say manage Cisco ASA you mean configuring it and stuff right? In regards to load balancing, there are several load balancing protocols. In regards to NAT, you have PAT (port address translation), Dynamic NAT, and static NAT.

These concepts can't be learned overnight (or maybe they can if you are exceptionally good). I suggest learning them one at a time and building up your virtual lab slowly.

I m not planning to master those things over night, i only need you to assist me in setting up the virtual lab while i begin to read up and practice till i get to the point i can grab those skills.

Ok, understood, can you kindly link the topology of your work thus far?

I hv been able to find solution to the problem i had. The cisco ios i used was giving problem so i downloaded another one. i m able to practice cisco commands now following a tutorial on youtube. Thanks. If i have any other issues i ll let u know.

Good work it was mainly for the complete novice though.

Those are examples of Classful addresses, but I was looking for the range of those addresses. Please don't answer and let the novice answer.

Ok how would you like me to teach you VLANs? Each Vlan is its own broadcast domain. So let's say you have a 24 port switch, and you have 4 vlans

Vlan 10 = Management
Vlan 20 = I.T.
Vlan 30 = H.R.
Vlan 40 = Other Workers

on a switch, you would do

vlan 10
name Management
vlan 20
name I.T.
vlan 30
name H.R.
vlan 40
name Other Workers

then to assign Vlans to an interface

interface range FastEthernet 0/1 - 4
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan 10
interface range FastEthernet 0/5 - 9
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan 20
interface range FastEthernet 0/10 - 14
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan 30
interface range FastEthernet 0/15 - 24
switchport mode access
switchport access vlan 40

Those are port numbers on the switch

fa0/1 - 4 means ports fa0/1 - fa0/4
fa0/5 - fa0/9 and fa0/10 - fa0/14 and fa0/15 - fa0/24. You don't need to type in the FastEthernet, you can just put in the port number when specifying the port range.

Why not try Cisco Packet Tracer? It's more straight-forward.

Im interested in learning from the beginning, Where can i start from?
Tho im going to India before the end of the year for CCNA,CCNP,CCIE,ETHICAL HACKING and some other networking related courses but i would still like to learn because i have lost my reading/studying skill

Feel free to ask questions, you can start learning about IP addresses, different IP addressing classes, IP Address Subnetting, and the differentiation between Routers, Switches and Hubs. I also urge you to read about the OSI model.
