These guys, 'bird chest' and all, held off the Nigerian army for more than two years with sticks and stones. Nigeria should continually thank Britain, Egypt and Russia, if not for them there'd be no Nigeria.

It shall never be well with all of you calling these youths Biafran soldiers! How can people fight with ordinary sticks and barefoot? The Biafran soldiers I saw, both on video and pictures, were well-fed gallant men in uniforms trained to use rifles. I'm not even sure where they got this picture from. But if this is a part of Biafra, it must be the local boys during a martial art training section. The purpose was to be able to defend themselves since they couldn't carry guns.
Op, e no go better for u!

Yeah, you are right. I heard that there were a couple of flash conflicts here and there at the early stages of the war. The Onitsha one was definitely one of them. Then the Abagana Ambush which followed as a result of the failure to take Onitsha the first time. But it may interest you to also know that it was after those attack that Gen Murtala was relieved of his command and on the next onslaught, Onitsha fell in under 24 hours.. Then came the formation of the 3 Marine Commando unit and all and that began the end of the war.. From there on, Biafra was taken apart..

10,000 FG troops massacred in four days with wave after wave being poured at the Biafrans is not flash conflict "here and there". it was a bitter battle that Murtala the butcher of asaba lost like the puzzy he was. He had to attack Onitsha from idah, kogi state to get anywhere.

You are reading your history upside down if u describe the war as piece of cake for the FG it was bloody and costly. For instance Owerri which the FG captured was retaken in a bloody battle by the Biafrans and held for almost a year when the war ended. For your info the 3rd marine commandos had limited spread in the conflict.

Lmao @ 10,000. grin

You mean Biafra took down a whole division of the Nigerian army out of thin air, when the number of troops deployed there weren't even up to a brigade (3,000)? grin

Stop indoctrinating yourself with jejune tales and fables. I believe the Nigerian army lost less than 200 soldiers in that theatre. Still a disaster, though.

I put it to you that: I doubt Nigeria lost upto 10,000 soldiers throughout the duration of that war combined. Ditto Biafra and the fictitious 3 million people story. That was a propaganda war. A lot of folks died, but the numbers were exaggerated.

In case you don't/didn't know, apart from Biafra - the rest of the country was peaceful and folks were going about their normal business, as if the country wasn't fighting a war. Apart from aerial bombings by Biafra's European mercenaries, from time to time, in Lagos, Ibadan, and I think Kaduna as well.

Did I kill them ? Cry me a river. You better go and wake Ojuiku up to account for your dead during the war. Yes there was genocide before the war but to a lesser extent even Yorubas were victims of that and your folk played a role in precipitating and provoking it. One with the January 15 coup but even more with the usual insensitive and triumphal behaviour in the days and weeks after that is typical or you lot The main problem of the Eboe in relating to others is you have very bad manners and just talk anyhow. When you speak you have no regard for others feelings
There was no genocide during the war that is nonsense

This pathetic post of yours shows you've lost the argument and lost the plot!

You say 'my folks played a part in precipitating and provoking the genocide before the war'? You see this is exactly what i mean when i say you're evil, full of deceit and full of shi't! Care to tell me where and when Ndigbo gave Nzeogwu (and any other Igbos that took part in the coup) an overwhelming mandate to go out and slaughter people in the name of coup? You wanna sit there and tell me the core muslim north never killed Igbos prior to the Nzeogwu coup and uncivil war, and haven't touched a soul ever since?.....Because this is the implication of your post: that but for the Nzeogwu led coup the core muslim north wouldn't have targeted and killed Igbos up north! The fact that any Yoruba may have been a victim is probably a case of mistaken identity or being in the wrong place at the wrong time because we all know it's Igbos they were actively looking for!

Your evil kind always trot out this lie that Igbos were triumphal and insensitive after the first coup!.....This is another lie you bastards cooked up to justify your wickedness!! Your excuse is that Igbos were targeted up north in their tens of thousands because they were gloating after said first coup! Care to show me independent reports of this happening; and care to explain why even as we speak innocent individuals are still being hacked down up north in their thousands? I suppose they're still angry decades latter that Igbos were 'gloating, insensitive and triumphal' over the first coup!?

You say we have 'bad manners'? Your problem is that your hatred and bigotry is beclouding your judgement and anything Igbos do or say riles you up so much.....that's one of the effects of bad-belle! wink You can end the mental torture with a very strong rope around your neck!

You say there was no genocide during the war? Pray tell, what is the stand of international law regarding mounting a food blockade during war that targets non-combatants so as to get at fighting soldiers?.....Tell me! Also, care to tell me what you call the goings on in Asaba when Murtala Muhammed decided to pay a visit with his bloodthirsty gang?

Half a million soldiers in a police action the country never fought with its might, apart from securing certain axis, no? grin

I doubt that war would have lasted 6 months, if they had taken it seriously - the whole plan was to suffocate Biafra, till they surrender. And the plan changed towards the end.

Anyway, that war was one of the biggest propaganda wars ever. Nothing interesting about it, apart from exaggerated numbers from both sides. And noise making everywhere. All in all, an unnecessary war between a young country and a power-drunk suicidal warlord who ended up eloping like a coward.

Learn ya history cos it has a way of repeating itself.

You are not making any sense at all. Ojukwu is highly revered by the Igbos becuase he did exactly what the his people asked of him. The Igbos told Ojukwu that they were tired of Nigeria and mandated him to give them independence and Ojukwu listend to them and declared Biafra. Wether you like it or not,it is the right of any group of people to pull out of Nigeria any time they want. Ojukwu is by no means a coward. He left when the game was up. It would have been f00lish of Ojukwu to stay back to be slaughtered over a war he had already lost. Yes Igbos don't like Yorubas and Hausas and they know this yet these 2 tribes are against the Igbo man going his way. Why? I'm sure if Igbos declare Biafra tomorrow, these two tribes will come out to fight again. The question is why? Can't they do without Igbos? Yes Igbos supported Jonathan and if he runs again in 2019,Igbos will still support him although [s] I'm sure we will have had Biafra by then.[/s] Igbos have a far more stronger connection to the Ijaws, nothing connects an Igbo man with an Hausa or Yoruba man.
Ojukwu is a coward
Everything he did was for selfish reasons and you gullible foóls believed in him.
Biafra is a dream that will never become reality bcoz, the ss region included in your map is impossible.
Even ss people hate you people.
