Tell me about French mercenaries on Biafra side.

While you're at it, do not forget Rolf steiner as well.

yes I know about them. The French gave us ancient weapons that abandoned during WW1. It is on record the official riffle for the Biafran soldier was the Bolt Action Riffle!

Steiner even turned out to be a sort of problem for Ojukwu.

truefact:
Yorubas are visionless. Awolowo never believed in anything that's why he died like nothing. He is coward. He has no choice of his. Zik bring him to nigeria, Gowon kept him in Nigeria even to this days.

Yorubas fight for your own country. ..Nigeria is not a country. ..

It is Yoruba cowardice and timidity that make them want Igbos to remain in Nigeria. Igbos give those cowards a kind of protection and cover from their masters up north. That is why if igbos secede now, yorubas will secede from their Hausa masters.

Yorubas fight for your country. Nigeria is a mere geographical expression. .didn't your hero said that? You lot are lazy cowards with no vision. Your only vision is ND oil

Your hero committed suicide. Your hero is coward who never fight for your freedom. Your hero had no choice of his, remember Zik made him accept nigeria and Gowon made him stay in Nigeria. Your hero believed nothing and die like nothing. ..WHAT A BIG SHAME
Ojukwu is the worst war General ever ....he abandoned his people at the hour of need . How does a General desert his own army ? Great Generals either win a war or die in the war but the pseudo -General Ojukwu voted with his feet !

Did you read the write up at all? The Biafran soldiers thought that Ore was heavily enforced that is why they did not move beyond that bridge, if they had know that just 129 soldiers were there they would have easily overrun them and head straight for Lagos which was the target.

I laugh hard at the bold part, go and read about Major Okafor and how he completely destroyed Nigerian army second division during the war. We had a lot going against us then that is why we lost the war. If we had just a quarter of the weapons you guys had the outcome would have been different.

Which war did adekunle fight? He was busy shooting women & children within the outskirts of Biafra while the man went forward under Etuk. Do you know that Biafran forces destroyed one-third of adekunle's 3rd marine commando even before he could start operation OAU?

Obasanjo himself took a shot in the arse at some point when he had to flee battle.

You're the real mumu. Isn't deception part of military tactics. Why then did the foolish biafran soldiers fall for the trick, got defeated and retreated if not that it was skillfully planned and executed.

Military strength isn't always about numbers and brute strength or weapons. You need brilliant commanders and soldiers to execute a perfect plan. Goto the Bible and read up on Gideon and his 300 men

Ok I get your logic.

Whenever similar circumstances involving both sides are pointed out, for you it is justifiable for Biafra and should never be faulted but on the Nigerian side justification is a no-no.

This trait seems general amongst people from the East though.

Ojukwu boasted to Awolowo that he had the greatest fighting force in Africa ...and that the war must go on ; he had no strategists or tactics and he felt wars are win by self adulation & chest beating alone ...the rest as they say is history !

Bro, if such feat isn't from the Biafran side then it deserves to be lampooned and choked.

You've tried to help him/them reason with this, just watch out for his/their response.

Key points in your post such as deception, military tactics, why biafran soldiers fell for the trick etc will either fly over his head or his ego will blind him to it.

I get your point but the truth is that Ojukwu would have been a fool to have allowed himself fall into the hands of enemy soldiers. Look at the humiliation Gadafi suffered when he was captured.

If there is no way of escape and a General hands over himself to the enemy then I will call him a big coward because at that point, he is expected to either commit suicide or die in battle by taking bullets on the chest and not the back.

Ojukwu did the right thing by escaping to Abidjan.

You are not getting my point. I am not saying that Biafran forces were not stopped at Ore, I have even admitted that our troops fell for the deception because if they had crossed that bridge they would have killed those 179 soldiers there.

Besides, we know that Banjo withdrew and handed over miles of captured grounds to Nigerian forces for reasons best known to him.

^^^Did Ojukwu 'drop bombs on Lagos'? I'd like to see a link to any book excerpts supporting this claim!

The American, Hank A. Wharton, was the main arms dealer remaining for
Biafra after Christian von Oppenheim, the Spain-based arms dealer of
German origin, was shot down on 8 October 1968, when he flew to bomb
Lagos. The first bomb, a 50-pound ordnance, dropped on the southwest side
of State House in Marina did not explode. The second hit the Barclays Bank
building (40 Marina, Lagos) and extensive damage was done to the Canadian
Chancery in that same building. The third bomb was dropped in the vicinity
of Niger House at the intersection between Broad Street and Marina.
According to US defence attaché’s report, the plane then flew to Apapa
dropping a bottled gas bomb on Harbour Road, missing the large fuel tanks
in the area which were its primary targets. It was when the plane circled
to return to Lagos Island that anti-aircraft batteries from the Naval
Dockyard, Apapa, were launched at it. Still hurtling in the air as it
passed over Ikoyi, the plane was hit by artillery from Dodan Barracks.
Oppenheim and his three crew members hit the ground in southwest Ikoyi as
a ball of fire. That left Wharton as Biafra’s sole arms dealer.

War is not won by mouth or muscle,

What brain power and tactics from well thought out strategy can achieve will take muscle a longer time.

So the biafra solders made a retreat not knowing the men at ore are less than 200.

History is about to repeat itself again.

This time, there will be nothing like no victor no vanquished. It's winner take all.

After reading this story, i've found out that the Northerners are the real cowards and greedy people. The war was fought and won by the Yorubas, but the Northerners hijacked everything and neglected the true heros.

How come we never heard of those names or see them excelling in the country which they fought so gallantly to defend? This is what every Southerner/Yoruba should be worried about, but it's a shame nobody is talking about this.

The whole truth will come out eventually...I grew up in the army and use to spend hours in the officers mess with my father...u will shake ur head when u hear some stories... An officer once said all will come to light someday...it is already happening...this life!!!

Yeah, the war was being planned in lagos which just happens to be in yorubaland BUT by northerners, your so-called enemy. It was the northerners who were slaughtering your people in the north which made you start going back to your new but short-lived nation-biafra. we had our own grouse with the northerners too and were dealing with it our own way, taking full cognisance of the reality on the ground. However ojukwu deemed it necessary to fight his enemy on yorubaland.

Oh, so biafran's push towards lagos wasn't an attack on the yorubas but ojukwu just wanted to capture the city........like he did the Mid-west region and impose his rule on them? Like we were going to fall for that lame excuse.

Ojukwu's enemy was the north but he needed to capture other regions first before finally developing the liver to confront his main enemy shocked You ought to listen to what you write sometimes and maybe then you will realise how d.aft it actually is. You need to fight your enemy on another man's land!!!

@ Bolded.............yeah right but then it only took 176 yoruba infantary men to stop the great(sic!) Biafran Liberation Front in his tracks at Ore!!!

176 Yoruba soldiers? if this is true... then I agree with you.. Biafrans are the biggest cowards for retreating from a band of cowards with rifles...

but if you are not being honest that the 176 soldiers were Yorubas... then you are ot only a coward trying to shamefully promote yourself to the ranks of brave men like Biafran boys.. but a liar as well trying to lie herself to bravery lol... nice try.

How I wish your family can read what you wrote here.

So Nigerians living in other parts of Nigeria apart from their state of origin is war to you.

So Nigerians being successful, living a purposeful life, contributing to their society of abode is winning an imaginary war to you.

So which war are the Yorubas with businesses in the south east fighting.

Is it war you are also fighting in Abuja where your people like Yorubas have made second home.

So to you, the fact that you come to south west, hustle, set up a business, pay taxes, abide by law is winning an imaginary war to you.

Plus have you ever met a Yoruba asking for war or the disintegration of Nigeria. your foolish clanninsh online trolls are the war mongers on the forum, just like you have massob drumming the beat of war that will never come. just like your retarded elders are busy begging Buhari for inclusion in his government while on the other hand, another set of jobless mofos are shouting Biafra.

you condition is pathetic

declare your Biafra and let us breath, but if you think an Igbo man like tony elumelu who is well cherish citizen of Nigeria for instances is fighting an imaginary war for you by having business in Lagos and south west, my friend you are delutional, your condition is worse than the mad men you see walking the streets. yours is worse off.

War is not a new trade to Yoruba, ask the fulani about the Osogbo war and Jalumi war.

Ask Ojukwu about Benjamin Adekunle, Iluyomade, Alabi Isama and the sage awolowo.

The fact of this discourse is that your "gallant and courageous" Biafran Liberation Front-touted by your hollow chest-beating warlord as "the greatest army in black africa" was stopped at ore by a hurriedly assembled group of infantary men led by a yoruba man. How you choose to deal with this fact is of no consequence to me.
