As a blogger constantly watching trends and polity in nigeria as a whole it baffles me gej could come out to make such derugatory statement about the credibility of an election in which he was incubent president over, infact if not for the nature of pdp manipulation of results as a ruling party the margin defeat to gmb would have climbed close to 10million or more. At list from numerous collated statistics it gathered that 88% nigerians wanted the incubent president gej to leave and was not happy with his government. This could clearly be seen as investors confidence improved and naira gained against the dollar when the presidential results where released.i want gej to realise that when he won last time other,s lost in the same democratic process so if he lost this time he should humbly hold his peace, he lost because 88% of nigerians lost faith in him.And not because of 2million margin. |

All opinion polls, except 2 fraudulent unverifiable ones, gave GMB victory. Some even predicted 60-40 % win. Maybe you forgot when PDP supporters were bragging that GMB was winning opinion polls while GEJ would win with INEC pronouncement NCOIM: |

The Odds were against Jonathan... Jonathan lost the touch of the masses... In 2011 the masses massively voted Jonathan into power... And what did Jonathan provide for the Masses? he only enriched the oil cabals and party Chieftains... If Buhari fails to perform in 2019 he will be voted Out.. Shikena |

@OP. Nigerians indeed wanted GEJ gone. Anyone saying otherwise is delusional. Much as Nigerians can be 'weird' in comparison to others, we are not entirely hopeless or a total lost cause. The facts is that Jonathan misruled Nigeria horribly and brought misery to millions. It was only natural for the incumbent to lose the election - even accounting for the ethnic and religious bias of some that GEJ benefited from electorally . As you concluded, GEJ would have lost by far more if not for the desperate rigging that took place in the SE and SS. |

Gbawe:Guess there was no ethnic and religious bias from North and no desperate rigging even in the North. Do u know dat SouthEast strictly used card readers more than any other region and u see it as rigging. Ain't u surprised on the low number of voters there, dat alone didn't send a msg to u ? |

At the media chat after postponement of the elections GEJ said "I will definitely win" but after casting his vote on March 28 when asked again about the outcome, he said, "I am hopeful". That was when he knew the game was up. |

blackfase:Indeed they are. Amazing when you consider that these are the same people starved of electricity, decent infrastructure, jobs, adequate healthcare, motorable roads, good security et al that others take for granted worldwide. GEJ did not improve even a single one of Nigeria's most major problems and only enemies of Nigeria's progress would want him to remain in charge. Time to see what Buhari and the APC can do . PDP has been in charge of the centre for 16 years. That is enough. I say good riddance to bad rubbish. |

blackfase:Even Jonathan himself knew he doesn't deserve to win. I never voted for him in 2011, his body language during the Yaradua campaigns gave him away as a reluctant VP material, let alone presidential. He's a president of circumstance, and now the circumstance has changed. |
