For how long will all this continue? Which way for the South? Look at the last presidential election results and you will observe that Just Kano & Katsina states made Buhari win the election. embarassed
Is it really their fault in these sharings? The south and southeast gave the APC limited options. Save for the southwest every other elected members into legislature in the APC are from the 3 northern zones and maybe Edo state. A senate majority leader has to be an experienced senator. When GEJ won elections in 2011 every zone was ably represented in the house in both parties.

Lol,
Most Yorubas that call themselves sophisticated do not even understand that the 36 states political structure with a whooping 19 states in the north with only 17 in the south is what has made the south of Nigeria near colony of the north of Nigeria.
cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool

Any how, Yoruba does not care if Nigeria becomes a sharia Islamic Republic.

A system or structure that continuously, consistently upholds, supports or appoints undesirables or leaves us with Hobson's choice or between the rock and a hard place or the devil and the deep sea is quite frankly undesirable.

This is the reason I don't vote. Nigeria cannot progress with the burden of a constitution and structure that does this to its people time and again. Pity.

Now even Bukola Saraki 'the Corrupt' is looking peachy all of a sudden for Senate Head Honcho.

There has to be a way to balance things in this country such that we do not continue to bear the dead weight of the North just because of their numbers, we are not the ones asking them to marry four wives and for a man to have 20 children. undecided

We must develop a system where the northern population would not matter much especially as regards sharing of our resources.

Enough is enough. angry

We need to fully restructure this country so that we can move forward.

And yet you are proud to come from a country of close to 200million people.
About the only reason why we are still regarded/respected in the world.

With the way things are going it is looking like Nigeria belongs to the North especially now that they were able to seize power from Jonathan this year as they boasted earlier.

Imagine planning to install another Hausa/fulani as Senate majority leader to work with Buhari also from the core north.

The sharing is fair enough.

The only answer to this is for the SS and SE to work with the SW. Before people rain curses grin, they should know the following:

1. Without working with the SW, the SS in particular is doomed to receiving just crumbs from Northern Presidents

2. The hatred some Southern people have for the SW is misplaced and totally unjustified. What exactly has the SW ever done against the SS?

3. I live in Lagos, and even in the SW state where my sister is (not Lagos), all the radio or TV stations have SS and Igbos presenters, some even reading Yoruba news! Their civil service nko? Yorubas are very tolerant and will accommodate & propagate our long term political interest far better than a core Northerner. But people just don't want to accept it becos of some tale their uncles told them about Awolowo during the war.

So, Awolowo of 1970 = SW of 2015?

We need to approach issues with our head rather than our heart.

LET US ENGAGE WITH THE SW or face eternal political slavery.

The north is not dull!
Kwara is a Yoruba state.
Kogi is a semi Yoruba state.
This brings the northern states to 19-2 (17).
Other middle belt states express an independence of political thought.
President Jonathan lost because the SW & middle belt that supported him in 2011 were disappointed by his dismal performance and wanted him out.
The core north alone could not deliver the presidency to Buhari in 2011.
Re: Yerima Tipped To Be The Next Senate Majority Leader by Nobody: 12:52pm On May 04, 2015
These people don't know what the north is about. We will all see it.. Tinubu thinks he is smart but by the time the north is done with him and snatch apc control from him he will learn what Awo learnt standing on a mole hill that he could not see standing on a mountain.

What do you mean by they did not sow?

The entire SS and South East should be left out of the government? Because they didn't sow?
They should have voted against their own?
Just wondering your own school of thought,
Do you know that more than 70% of the money Nigerian state gets is mainly from these regions?

One wonders what they did not sow.

Oh Yes, we are getting there; with the harbinger of sharia criminal laws in Nigeria as Nigeria's Senate leader; Nigeria a sharia Islamic country is a question of time.

In 2000, the 12 northern states adopted sharia criminal laws that include stoning women to death for adultery, cutting hands of petty thieves, marriage of under-aged girls.

In 2001, in Kaduna, Buhari charged Muslims to ensure that sharia criminal laws are employed in all over Nigeria.

Shortly after, Boko Haram emerged and its earliest reasons which it gave and which it has repeated is that it is fighting for a country friendly with sharia criminal laws.

After 6 years of fighting by BH, Buhari won election to become president; after three earlier loses.

Once Buhari winning the election became imminent, Boko Haram started to fold shops. Sambisa forest became easily accessible without any one sabotaging Nigeria Army.
And we were all warned....

Some say its not possible to islamise Nigeria...

Is it still not possible??
