In ur hate book... How is he taking credit for it.

That he was called to inaugurate it? Ok, they shouldn't have called lawyer-governor, right?

On the Lagos Court of Arbitration building on Lagos Island, Fashola said that the compelling need to resolve trade disputes locally rather than travelling to London and Paris informed the siting of the centre in the state.

“This is the place for dispute resolution. It is the Lagos Arbitration centre. We could save a lot of money and create employment through this court. We lose a lot of fund to other countries in terms of arbitration. When dispute arises in the country, the preferred place is Paris, France or London, United Kingdom. And there is nothing special there.

“All we need is to create a centre that will have the necessary reputation. We have the personnel because some of the best arbitrators in the continent are Nigerians. We also have the economic for the arbitration because a lot of construction, developmental and Public Private Partnership, ( PPP) projects are ongoing. And dispute from there could be resolved here,” he added.

Fashola said the court would also create jobs for many residents, stating that through the initiative the state government has created a local destination for the sub-region as the court would be the destination for arbitration for West Africa.

“We already have the international recognition for this. All that is left is to complete the project. We have received some arbitration funds also. And the next three weeks, the building will be ready for commissioning. We have at least 11 rooms here,” he said.

Don't mind the bitter, disgruntled, angry and hopeless villager...

The building was built by the LASG and handed over to the court .

Fashola try in building and inviting paparazzi propaganda photographers for this building.

Big question is when will he address the BASICS of modern society such as:

- education for ALL children.
- TAP water.
- primary health centres, adequately equipped & staffed

A governor who only has 2,000 public schools out of 14,000 in the entire state can only be considered a terrible FAILURE.
Abi na wetin be 14% (2,000/14,000) if nor be failure?
If u criticise other state governor the way u criticise Fashola, the country would have been better today...Every time any new edifice is commissioned u always come up with one excuse or the other to discredit him...is either u are talking about how they inflated the price or u are posting a picture of a school...I don't know if u criticise for just the fun of it but do it wisely so it does not come across like u are an Enemy of progress

Since when did FACT become excuse or having fun unwisely huh

If you have counter facts to disprove what I said please share. SIMPLE!

Meanwhile I SHARE factual information that is of interest to me. I do not think that Oluwaseun Osewa has stopped you or anyone else from also sharing information that is of interest to YOU. Or has he huh

A man who scores 14% in just the number of public schools in his state for a critical sector for sustainable progress such as education is the real enemy of progress, not me. angry
I hope that is something you can understand!

Because the article says it was inaugurated by him. It didn't say it was built by him. Besides, it was a private initiative conceived by lawyers, unless you're saying Fashola is no longer a lawyer.

Chief what facts are you spouting. Is the state govt in competition with the private sector. The number of private schools that can be built is limitless, it is a business for the investing public. So the number can add up to be 100,000 or more. By the Same logic you are using, the govt is suppose to be more houses than all the houses built by private citizens. How can that happen when we practice free enterprise and pseudo-capitalism.

Then for your information your equation should have been 2000/16000 which would make 12.5% built by the govt.

Thanks for correcting my equation. Duly noted that Fashola and Thief'nuibu cabal's FAILURE in Lagos state education sector is WORSE than I earlier reported.

Go and find out what % of public schools (compared to private schools) were for ALL children in Lagos state under Awo and Jakande in the 50s and 80s, then come back let's discuss.

I am surprised that you are comparing education of all OUR children with housing shocked
For someone who can calculate properly, this is truly disappointing!
In UK, Canada, USA, Italy etc where our people are running through the desert, ocean to smuggle themselves to do you think the public schools are only 12.5% of the total number of schools huh

Why do we hate OURSELVES so much as black people?

It was actually built by the lagos state government and handed over LCA.

The first International Arbitration Court in West Africa situated on Lagos Island and built by the Lagos State government is ready for commissioning.

Governor Babatunde Fashola gave the hint yesterday during a tour to the site of the project noting that plans have been concluded by his administration to commission the facility for public use.

DETERMINED to complete ongoing projects under its purview on schedules, Office of Works, Lagos state Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has doubled activities to ensure completion of the projects. Currently, schools, hospitals, courts and other public utilities are being rehabilitated while new ones are being constructed where necessary across the state.

Against this background, the Office of Works, being the repository of government’s technical competence in the area of public buildings, has the duty to ensure compliance with standards. The office is the consultant to all ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of government in the area of public buildings. Through this function, the office has helped the government save millions of naira on the cost of construction of public buildings.

Road-constructionAside from construction works, the Office of Works is also responsible for the maintenance of a retinue of government facilities, which include, the Secretariat Complex, Staff Quarters and a number of equipment. These responsibilities Lagosians said, have been discharged creditably well.

Projects also being undertaken by the Office are Ministry of Science and Technology Complex, Multi-Agency Building, Alausa, Multi-Storey Building in Lagos Island, Magistrate Courts located in Ajegunle, Ogba, Epe, Ikeja, Badagry, ongoing one in Igando and Lagos Arbitration Centre. In the education sector, Works department has completed Senate Building, Student Union Arcade, Central Library, Faculty of Management Sciences, and 3-in-1 Lecture Theatre, all at the Lagos State University (LASU) In addition, the Office has embarked on a 3-floor building extension, sited at Harvey road, Health Centre, College of Health Technology, Yaba and renovation of Ayinke House, Ikeja General Hospital.

Egan-Igando Housing is another ongoing project embarked upon by the office. To tackle the security situation across the metropolis, Office of Works has equally completed the Police Officers Wives Association’s (POWA) Secretariat in Lagos, including Police Model Area Command, Ilashe, Police Model Area Command, Elemoro in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area as well as Police Model Area Command, Idimu.

Everyone agrees that education is a basic ingredient for sustainable development.
Jonathan's record in this area is BETTER by far than that of the akotileta prodigal son whose tenancy of Alausa house will expire on 29 May. The record of his godfather, the JagbaJantis of Bourdillon is even WORSE.

Those are the incontrovertible FACTS. If you have any rebttal to this, please fell free to share it.
Thanks.

What incontrovertible facts? Where are your sources to back up your so called facts? You pulled a statement out of your ass, you claim it's a fact, and then ask me to rebttal your so called facts. What the hell is rebttal?

Some of you need help. The just concluded elections have forced a sizeable number of people to cross that line into insanity.

Go and compare the population of Lagos then and now, Did Govt policies then allow the owning of private schools, how many private individuals then had the money to set up schools unlike now where schools are springing up everywhere. Was the middle-class, the engine of growth in many economies as buoyant as it is now.
