For a 1 year prog you're eligible for a 1year pgwp, for a 2yr prog you're eligible for a 3yr pgwp.

You either take a straight 2year prog, or two 1year progs respectively.

Pgwp - post graduate work permit

Will programs that run for one academic year (8 calendar months) be considered as one calendar year in giving the pgwp?

I'm going for a one year program (3 terms) and plan to obtain a pr status. Will I be qualified for the 3 years pgwp if I go for another course of two terms (8 months) or should I just apply for a one year pgwp immediately after my one year program and use that to apply for pr status?

Ok,

1. There are graduate programs in colleges that run for 2 terms (8 calendar months but one academic year) while some run for 3 terms (10-11 calendar moths). How long will a pgwp be granted for each program?

2. My course at Niagara college runs for 3 terms (september-june), if I go for another program that runs for 2 terms (september-april) immediately after my program at niagara college, will I qualify for the 3 year pgwp?

Like I said earlier, 1 year prog = 1 year pgwp, 2 yrs prog = 3 yrs pgwp.

So u either take 2yrs straight, or two 1year programs ...

I hope this simple explanation answers your question.

Yes I get you.

What I'm trying to clarify is something I saw on the CIC website about giving pgwp of not more than 8 months to programs that last for 8 months. I want to know if the college programs will be classified under 8 months or one year because the program duration stated by the college states one year but the actual duration is 8 months and CIC will issue a pgwp based on the calculation of when you received a notification of completion of studies which will not be up to one year after the start of the program.

Hope you get my question

Well I get you now, if your college regards an eight month prog as a year, then a year it is, esp if its stated on ur loa as 1year certificate

Are u a mathematician? @Confidence Interval... lol. Unfortunately, I work with this very reputable firm that takes ethics very seriously. Apart from that, I am not comfortable submitting any document that is not genuine, bearing in fact that they may call for verification.

I have put up my best, the application cannot be perfect, that is where Grace comes in. Notwithstanding all I am submitting, I rely on God's grace and will 100%.

You are getting it all wrong, since your husband has a company where you work, that is what i was referring to.

According to you, you're his only dependant..so let him state it that way e.g ' Mrs Teana4040 is my only dependant'

SeraSera:

You go for biometrics when you get a message instructing you to do so. This message contains a letter, which you're expected to print out and take with you to the biometrics centre. You do not have to go on the same day. There is a 30 day period from the date your application was submitted within which you should conclude your biometrics. However, it is advisable to do it as soon as possible to avoid possible delays.

@Sera Sera, tnx alot for your prompt response
