moneyallowed:Firefight wasn't as good as Steelheart, but the premise of the story in general "superheroes as the bad guys" was very cool. |

"Yes. You see, Sadeas, you make it too easy. An uneducated, half-brained serving boy with a hangover could make mock of you. I am left with no need to exert myself, and your very nature makes mockery of my mockery. And so it is that through sheer stupidity you make me look incompetent.” You just gotta love Wit. Recently finished Stormlight Archives: The Way of Kings. Fantasy writers are not human at all; bringing all those kingdoms, religions, lineages, animals, languages, objects etc out of one's head and weaving all so seamleesly into one story is no mean feat. Not read much Fantasy before but Stormlight Archives is storming awesome. |

Rereading Ravens Shadow by Anthony Ryan, nearly finished. That is a fantasy novel that turns most fantasy cliches on its head with a lot of unpredictable new twists. Will go for another read of Stormlight after this cause that story is just that awesome |

SIRcumalot:They are plenty my brother. If i tell you i still haven't read Wheel of Time, Shannara, Inheritance cycle or Night Angel you wouldn't believe me. Can't remember the reason, i think it's his upbringing cos his mother didn't get the chance to teach him and the Order didn't encourage it. If i'm not mistaken Dahrena's teaching him some letters in book two. Tower lord was great but i prefer Blood song |
| Re: What Are You Reading Right Now And What Page Are You? by sage1000: 10:27pm On May 11, 2015 |
The order doesn't teach reading and his mother tried but it is implied he has some form of dyslexia so she couldn't before she died. yeah I preferred Blood song too, it took me a second read to truly appreciate Tower lord, still hate reva and dahraena though. The layers of plans of Janus is epic, he purposely set up d war to fail etc. I'm sure book 3 will have more of his plans revealed. No other book does plot twists that doesn't end in d main char dying lyk raven shadow. just finished reading The little prince by Antoine de saint exupery. The most touching book I've read this year. A book written to kids for adults to read. The lessons there are profound and I can see why its a classic |

sage1000:i don't think janus planned to fail at all he just cut his losses and then claim the territories he already occupied when he couldn't defeat the empire i maybe wrong so please explain your reason. i have a lot of problems with the book but fenris arc was painful, he was my favorite character |

I missed it the first time but when Janus was talking with Lyrna in d flashback dat he told her to save Vaelin and not Malchius. (another surprise, book 1 led us to believe it was part of Janus plan all along) she said that his plan ended in utter defeat and he replied along d lines that d plan was for d invasion to fail so dat her and vaelin would rebuild d realm. Another was wen she was talking with the shield, he said Janus glorious plan was a failure, her mental thought was that was the point. frentis storyline was boring and I skipped most of it d first tym but a second read made it worth it, it was a great standalone story but d fact it didn't follow d main story esp at d beginning hurt it. It revealed a lot of gems, master grealin as aspect of the 7th order and d love story was better. |
