People keep saying succes was desperate but udinese is no desperation jhur its a great club and as 4 me its not his fault if he comes late jare he juxt has to be on the plane to new zealand this is not d time to teach discipline issues he is better than eze, pyagbara, saleh and others. Manu shudnt make d mistake keshi made for dropping sunday mba in d wc due to lateness cuz with d absence of mba we didnt have a quality bench
he was better than Awoniyi too, but who's better now? Ehn, nobody said it's his fault, but if you worked hard for a position and lost it to some other dude with a fancier CV, you won't be smiling, will you? Have you considered those other boys that train twice a day for this? We're not even saying he'll come before 15th, we're talking like 28th, days to our first game. And you say we should forget discipline? Na una be the problems with naija. Na small small e dey start. Soon everyone will think they can do and undo, then the team will become shitty. Remember Mikel, Odemwingie, Uche, Emenike. It all started from idolizing an in-form player

lol...well, I used to think that. No longer. Awoniyi has grown in leaps and bounds. His confidence is very high. Isaac's confidence isnt as great.

Well..here,i disagree.

Isaac's (somewhat)misfortune with his scoring duties isnot predicated upon his confidence but on the team setup.

It is one of the worst teams in Spain to be a striker as you will definitely be starved of service from the midfielders who are an absolute shitfest!

A beautiful case in study are the Granada careers of our two other proven strikers in the mould of Ikechukwu Uche and Odion Ighalo.

Odion struggled for goals in Granada like Kilode! Fast-forward to present day..he's an absolute goal scoring machine @the moment.

Ikechukwu Uche nko?.. his goals return in Granada should be the worst he's ever had in his professional footballing career while we all know him as a footballer who constantly scores in double digits, season after season.

Besides, both have reached totally different heights as footballers. Awoniyi can only boast of playing in the U20 African final while Success plays in the best football league in Europe and has played against the Messi and Ronaldo..the two best footballers in the world.

toh, let him forfeit the WC and go and join Udinese's first team while his mates get offers from Madrid and Arsenal after the tournament. If Success makes the team to the detriment of some other dedicated fellow who's been sweating it since AYC Qualifiers, Manu's integrity will be in question. You can't serve 2 masters, club has preceded country this time and there will be consequences. Manu is not Keshi, there are no sacred cows

Madam..,

Success will definitely make U20 team barring any injuries as there is NO Naija 20 striker (yes!..including iheanacho) that is as good as he is!
And Two..
Whether you play qualifiers or not, a star player is a star player if its assured that he will give the team the extra "Oomph" to succeed and he will also be given preferential treatment over you if you not make the cut!

End of story.

Again, you lots need to consider that the confidence of a player scoring in almost every game will be higher than someone who has been starved of service.

No one is arguing against the quality of Isaac. We all saw it. What folks are saying is that he should not expect to walk into the team just a few days to the kickoff.

What is NFF even doing? This tournament is on the FIFA calendar and the rule states that players for such assignments should be released latest 2 weeks to the tournament kickoff. Why is the NFF not enforcing this rule?

For those saying we do not have a bench without Success, that's a big lie. Bulbwa can play as a striker. Ezeh can. Iheanacho can. Wasiu Jimoh has been impressing in camp. Pyaghara is an excellent goal scorer as seen in the local league, he just needs to understand the team more. So, we have 5 strikers apart from Taiwo and some say we dont have a capable bench.

With all said, I hope Success turns up and even with that, I dont see him displacing Taiwo especially in the first games in the tournament.

Man City Star Delayed Camp Arrival Due To Visa Hitch

Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho is currently being held back from the Flying Eagles camp as he is yet to secure a visa to travel to the camp in Germany.

SL10.ng gathered the 18-year-old has submitted his passport to the German embassy in the United Kingdom but he is yet to get a reply.

His case is made more curious and serious as England is not a member of the European Union meaning he can't travel across the continent with his UK permit.

However an answer if he will be granted a visa to hook up with his colleagues will be known by today but the team already has a plan B in case he doesn't get a visa.

The plan will be for him to hook up with his colleagues in New Zealand since the crew are satisfied with his form and fitness for Manchester City EDS in their last four games.

Iheanacho has scored three times in his last four games for Manchester City youth teams including the winner against FC Porto in the final of the International Premier league cup.

Sokari Dazzling In Flying Eagles Camp

Enyimba International midfielder Kingsley Bobby Sokari is currently using his performances to push for a spot in Nigeria squad for the World Youth Championship.

SL10.ng has gathered that the 19-year-old has so far impressed the coaches with his clever play in the middle and has move up a notch ahead of other midfielders.

"Sokari is doing extremely well in camp. From day one his performances have been consistent. We are all impressed with his attitude as well," A team source told SL10.ng

His fine form is bad news for Abdullahi Alfa with both players presently battling for same spot which represents the vacuum created by Obinna Nwobodo's injury-enforced absence.

"The fact that Nwobodo is not here with us due to injury has thrown up an interesting battle between Sokari and Alfa, and Alfa isn't doing too bad but at the moment Sokari is better."

While both players are enhancing their chances same cannot be said of Dolphins Christian Pyagbara as he has failed to hit the heights that lead to his call up to the team.

Another who needs to improve on his game if he is to be at the World cup is Ace Academy skipper, Abdul Ganiyu Saheed, as his inconsistent displays have moved Bashir Monsur ahead of him in the pecking order.

Mehn...this guy does not know Bulbwa o. He was one of the stars of the U-17 team before being dropped during the MRI tests. He's always being a first team player.

Let's make a quick comparison, buddy: Both Bulbwa and Success were first team players in the U-17. One goes ahead and signs in Europe where he's had a shitty season full of even shittier stats. Another stays with the team blending and gelling with the team the more and did not just continue to be a regular, he scored a breaktaking goal, the most beautiful goal I've ever seen any Nigerian player score in the Green-White-Green jersey. A goal whose technicality so baffled John Fashanu that he's patronising the NFF to lobby FIFA to consider it for the PUSKAS award. The goal won a tournament.

As a coach, who will you play given a choice between the two players?

Brother,

Sucess is our best and our most talented U20 striker..handsdown!

That he's @ udinese is testament to his immense talent. And please.. Success has scored a somewhat similar Volley (though not as supreme as Bulbwa's I must Admit) for Naija during our demolition of Mexico in the first Match, shortly before he copped the injury that ruled him out of the tourney itself and made ihenacho and Awoniyi the golden boys that they are today. (he he he!!!)

Besides..bulbwa, for all his merits (rolls eyes) isn't as talented as Alhassan.

Ndidi arrives to boost Flying Eagles in Germany

The Flying Eagles training camp in Nurnberg, Germany, bubbled on Monday morning with the arrival of Genk central defender Wilfred Ndidi.

Ndidi arrived the team’s Novina Hotel after a six-hour road trip with his foster father in Belgium on the steering wheels.

“This is the one player we have been waiting for,” said an excited skipper Musa Muhammed.

“’Dogo’ is not just a teammate, he is a friend, and the whole squad are happy he has joined us.

“Personally, his joining the team means I can go upfront from my right fullback position without any hesitation because I know he will cover for me.

“But he now has to go through the hard work we have been subjected to since we arrived in Germany.”

Ndidi, 18, himself said he is delighted to reunite with the team after his Belgian club Genk blocked him from the recent African Youth Championship in Senegal.

On Saturday, he played the full 90 minutes as Genk won 3-2 at Zulte-Waregem. He played the first half as a left back and the second half as a right back.

He gave away a dozen pair of brand-new boots and Genk jerseys to the team.

The forthcoming U20 World Cup in New Zealand will be his second after he also featured at the 2013 tournament in Turkey.

“We reached the second round two years ago and now we want to be U20 world champions in New Zealand,” he said.

“The confidence in the team is very high. Now we will fight and win together.”

Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City, England), Isaac Success (Granada, Spain) and Moses Simon (Gent, Belgium) are the other Europe-based players expected to join the Flying Eagles.

thegoodjoe, every media outlet seem to be saying that Guardiola is gonna be the next Man City coach. Do you think the EDS lads, which Iheanacho is a part of, have a chance with him?

Guardiola joining Manchester City will favor Nacho because the whole program of the ETIHAD Campus is to follow the same blueprint of the La Masia academy of Barcelona FC.

Note Guardiola started his footballing career as a youngster of Barcelona. Guardiola's coaching career began at the Barcelona academy.

He will favor Nacho because much money pumped into the campus is to produce home grown stars. Iheanacho is the most promising player of the Etihad Campus. Fielding Nacho with the main side of Man City will show the academy process is working.

And he's even in the second division filled with shitty teams. That excuse won't hold water. The likes of Bulbwa, Ezeh and even Jimoh can and will replace him. Totally wrong. No doubt, Success is a talent. A great striker but there is more to succeeding than fielding star players.

Hard work and training together is a critical part of success. If Isaac will join the team few days to the tournament, he can never make the team.

The strategical planning and technical requirement for the team will go on without the National Youth coaching crew working and judging Success capability.

He might be a star player but Success presence will hinder the developmental work of the coaching crew.

which La Liga? Bros, second division no follow for La Liga o. I asked 'when last' he scored. Even Man City fans know their EDS is weak, they complain all the time cuz they're still in the early stages of formation. Which cup did they win a week ago? If it's the IPL that they won by Kelechi's lone goal, then that was 4 days ago. Prior to that, they played against Chelsea's Youth team in a game Kelechi was once again, the only scorer. The Man City EDS is weak when compared historically to the likes of FC Porto, Ajax, PSV, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia,Bayern Munich, Dortmund, Arsenal, Man United etc because these clubs have history of producing World Class Superstars.

Man City EDS is just kicking off but the strength of the process can not be denied. Stars are coming out. Remember Yeboah who was the AYC best player. Karim Rekik is a regular at PSV, Marcos Lopes broke into Lille team.

Our EDS beat Bayern's youth team 6-0. It is a work in progress and the program will be judged in few years when stars break out from the team.

The only rays of hope are Kelechi, Brandon Barker, Lopes, Angus Gunn and Glendon. Dude, I follow them too, so I'm not pulling shiitt out my asss here

which La Liga? Bros, second division no follow for La Liga o. I asked 'when last' he scored. Even Man City fans know their EDS is weak, they complain all the time cuz they're still in the early stages of formation. Which cup did they win a week ago? If it's the IPL that they won by Kelechi's lone goal, then that was 4 days ago. Prior to that, they played against Chelsea's Youth team in a game Kelechi was once again, the only scorer. They lost that game too. Bros, that team is average at best, that is testament to what the fans say. No be say na me talk am. Once again, if Success doesn't make the team NOTHING will happen. If those boys are meant to win the World Cup, they will, with or without him. Afterall they packed all the big guns in Mikel's set and dem still no win am

Er Safarigirl...
I didn't understand your first line..

Areyou saying that Isaac success doesnt/hasnt played laliga footie or that he doesn't have a good scoringrecord for his B team or that there isn't a 2nd division in Spain or what exactly?

Meanwhile..that chelsea team that Kelechi played against is the best youth team in england.

Nice to know that TheGoodJoe shares some of my sentiments on ManCity's EDS.. thumbs up sir!

But I still stake my claim that Bulbwa can't bench a Fit Isaac Success oh... even if he arrives late to the show and makes the final squad!!..not now..and not anytime soon! LOL!

grin!

And err...

I don't care as much if we don't win the competition..na normal thing anyway.
What will gladden myheart is that theyall have blossoming careers and key members are fastracked into the super eagles team cos these papa Eagles do not give me any joy at all...yeah.. and the hiring of that nonsense coach! angry angry angry !

Dennis Suarez left the EDS last season to join Barcelona. He was sent on loan and he is now a La Liga star with Sevilla.

If those above are the only stars, What about Pozo. There are more stars.

If the team was shiiit as they say, why is Bayern Munich keen on bring Coach Patrick Vieira to Bayern?

Some of those writing there are not true City fans but Man United haters,

kannymoore, for now the EDS is an average team. It is certainly not the best team in the English Youth Setup. Ever heard of the Chelsea team and a certain prolific Solanke? What about Liverpool? Leicester? All you need to do is check out the standings. Man City EDS is certainly a team for the future. Not now.

Honestly, the Isaac, Iheanacho, Bulbwa argument is not one I want to get involved in. I love them all. But be that as it may, if Isac comes late to camp, he's not going to New Zealand. You can bank on that.

If the last few reports are anything to go by, Iheanacho, Success and Moses will make the team. The coaches are monitoring their league progress.

I do not think, it is fair to compare Granada to Man city EDS.. Isaac Success plays with grown men every week, players that are far more experienced than him whether in La Liga or Lower leagues. The Man city EDS plays with their age mates, people still learning the game. There is a world of difference. Many of the EDS players will not make the top flight... Isaac Success is already playing top flight football.

Let us not forget, this is Isaac Success first season abroad, playing in the world's best league arguably... In the next two seasons, we can examine his progress. However, right now, he is more experienced than most of his team mates.

I have seen some of his games... I believe,, he would have been a revelation in a lower league like Belgium or Holland. He still makes a lot of good runs.... All he needs is confidence and that comes from scoring goals...
