Iheanacho wants to battle Aguero for Man City shirt https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2015/05/Samm_4_October_5_580x473.jpg AfricanFootball.com has specially learnt that Nigeria starlet Kelechi Iheanacho has turned down a chance to go on loan from top EPL side Manchester City, preferring instead to battle the likes of Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko for a first-team place at City. An inside source at City told AfricanFootball.com Iheanacho, who has been granted his work permit in the United Kingdom, was given the option to go on loan so as to play regular first-team football and then return to the club a lot more experienced. But he turned down this chance, insisting he would rather stay back at the club and fight to make the first team. “He refused to go on loan. He and his representatives have told City he would rather battle the likes of Aguero and Dzeko for a place in the first team,” revealed the source. “His compatriot, Chidiebere Nwakali, opted for a loan move away to Malaga because his management team believe he has to gain experience outside the club before he could really challenge for a place in the City main team.” The 18-year-old Iheanacho, who is bound for this month’s FIFA U20 World Cup with Nigeria, was a big hit during City’s pre-season tour of the USA in the summer. He has fully recovered from injuries to score goals for Manchester City U19 and U21 teams recently. |

joseph1013: I disagree with your point of the EDS of Man City being an average team. The EDS have produced players recently that have walked into the starting line up of top teams. For instance, Dennis Suarez, Rekik, Guidetti, Lopes etc. If the top academies like Real Madrid and Barcelona field their players against the EDS, it will not be a walk over. So how can they he average. This season, the EDS of Man City beat Bayern Munich youth team, (one of the best)1-4. If an EDS player can become a La Liga star, think of the talents there. If Success was at Man City, he will play for the U18 or the EDS. |

joseph1013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYLqRY_iZVo If you have data to spare, check from 2:57 and see Zackarias Faour in action. A talented striker who has not broken into the EDS. Note, Yeboah, the AYC MVP has not broken into the EDS of Man City. That will tell you how much talents are at the ETIHAD Campus. |

Hmmm... kelechi the choice is urs. but remember, in d epl, athleticism, guile, stamina matters. u need a lot of improvement with ur ryt foot too- to control and shoot. so as to reduce wayward shots. but best bet remains belguim or holland. see bertrand traore as a good example. |

TheGoodJoe:that some nigg* won MVP (on God knows what grounds) ....doesn't mean nada. Apart from AYC, I've never heard of that guy's name from City fans just to show how irrelevant he is Kelechi will break into first team before him....after all, it's KC they wanted to seek work permit for on grounds of 'special talent' |

safarigirl: Our Flying Eagles won the tourney and a player from Ghana was crowned the MVP shows the kind of talent he possesses. For such a player as Yeboah to be a no name for the Cityzens shows the kind of talent in the Etihad Campus pool. |

safarigirl:sucess might still be better nw it's agreed he has shitty team mates but its a fact that he has had d opportunity to play against defences that compete in d ucl and to me that edges out pyagbara(local league),eze(academy) and even AWONIYI hu plays against semi profesional defences. LASTLY we failed to qualify 4 d afcon cuz keshi refused to 'idolise our in-form players' |

I pray he stays fit and continues to understudy those two talented forwards, Dzeko and Aguero and also grab his opportunity with both hands when it falls inis laps. |

TheGoodJoe:on what criteria did he win MVP? Besides, your academy did not train him, not like he came in as a kid. He was up to 15 abi? Na so dem say Kelechi na Manchester City Academy trained, for where? |

TheGoodJoe:You're missing the point and it's surprising (but maybe it's because it's your club). Read my comments again. I did not ay Man City does not have good players or even have fantastic players. Heck, our very own Kelechi and Nwakali are there and that's enough to make me hold my tongue about the talents there. I am a Barca fan but would immediately adopt Man City as soon as Kelechi becomes a regular. I said that as a team it is an average team. And that's obvious to see. How are teams judged? Trophies! How many trophies have the team garnered since it was formed? What is the team's standing in the U18s and U21 Premier League standing? How did the team fare in the Youth UEFA Champion's league? You cant say it's the best team when Chelsea is there? When Leicester has beaten them blue black this season home and away. I can show you clips upon clips of talented lads in other youth teams. Go take a look at the Atletico madrid youth setup. Fantastic boys. It's all over. Check out Sunderland, Totthenham, Southampton, Liverpool. These teams have a ocean-deep arrays of star kids. Beating Bayern Munich 1-4 means nothing really. They were beaten by the same scoreline at home to Man Utd this season. Do we say, by your logic, that Man Utd is better? Sunderland also beat them 4-2 at home. It's a no brainer! |

joseph1013: As I said before, it depends on the criteria. When Unai Emery took over Sevilla, they might have been tagged average. However, as time has gone under Unai Emery, they are a force. My point is that the criteria. Note, the FC Porto team we faced, was experienced. Mikel Agu who played for FC Porto's main team last season against Benfica was an unused Substitute. That will tell you the kind of team the EDS defeated to the title. So when a team is tagged average, it depends on the criteria. Based on your criteria above, they are an average team. But, based on the process on ground and the talents nurtured, they are not. Note, teams kept on taking talents from the EDS. |

TheGoodJoe: Based on what's on ground: The facility, coaching team, talented kids. They have the potential to be a great team in the FUTURE. Just not now based on the results so far. And it's not a surprise to me. Rome was not built in a day |
| Re: Flying Eagles of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (New Zealand 2015) by Nobody: 10:25pm On May 11, 2015 |
TheGoodJoe, The Porto team completely outplayed Man City EDS in the Final... The keeper came up with a lot of outstanding saves in that game. That was the first time, i watched the EDS but the better team lost on the day. |

joseph1013: My point is, when we judge these kind of cases, we can not use historical accomplishments. For instance, are we going to call the Valencia youth side a top side or an average side? In recent years, they produced Alcacer and Isco. However, I do not know the major break through stars there. Will we judge the Real Madrid side based on their past or present achievement. The Man City EDS are showing promise. PSV is a top side in football. For an EDS player (Rekik) to walk into PSV, shows the EDS is not an average team. Rekik was named in Louis Van Gaal's 30 man provisional squad for the World Cup 2014. Guidetti walked into Celtics and banged in goals before his drought. Celtics is a top side. So you can not use history and tables to judge but the kind if talents produced in recent past. |
| Re: Flying Eagles of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (New Zealand 2015) by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:31pm On May 11, 2015 |
tbaba1234:As I said, the FC Porto team is an experienced side (I repeat, Mikel Agu was an unused substitute). So winning them shows that the EDS team is not average. When we call them average, what criteria? Average against the main teams of Barca and Madrid? Or, Average against other academies and youth teams. If it is the later, I disagree. A team that put four past a Bayern youth side can not be tagged average. |

I don't know wat u guys re going on about, the fact dat success has not been released is not his fault after all he has a contract with d club.if u ask me it even shows how important he is to granada even when he is unable to score frequently. |
| Re: Flying Eagles of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (New Zealand 2015) by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:58am On May 12, 2015 |
lardy96: Definitely, it is not Success' fault. However, when Coach Manu Garba and his coaching crew drops Success, it will not be their fault. |

If u guys remembers Manu Garbas theory ,u will know that this guys are in thier period of grace to join d team....don't forget manu believes that no player is a star players and he believes in d team abilities not d player ability .also he doesn't carry any player in his head or shoulder (meaning no player is indispensable ) and he maintains discipline in d team , If u go by this policy some special talents will not make the team if they exceed d grace period . There is |

Blogger Olawale Leke Predicts His Flying Eagles World Cup Squad https://level3.soccerladuma.net/cms2/image_manager/uploads/News/209342/7/default.jpg The time is short to make people happy or break their heart. Will there be casualities? Flying Eagles head coach Manu Garba has said that he will not make the mistake of taking players that don't fit into his system to the World Cup. Goalkeepers It is now new that Adamu Abubakar has been extended a privilege of fighting for jersey in the camp. Ideally, he can't unseat the three goalkeepers that were picked for the African Youth Championship in Senegal. Perhaps Terkaa Melai, Emmanuel Iwu or Chidiebere Eze could have been better placed to be invited. On that basis, Adamu would not be in my squad for the World Cup in New Zealand. Defenders This is a straightforward selection, apart from the call on who should be Mustapha Abdullahi's back-up at left-back. My choice is Samuel Okon. Midfielders We have varieties in this area. There can be no waiting on it. It is a great pity to see such talented players in this department of the team having sleepless nights. My preference would be to take midfielders/wingers which would allow for Moses Simon and Bernard Bulbwa to go to New Zealand, as well as Kingsley Sokari who can play out wide or in a central position. Godwin Saviour is always a good option. He is capable of adding strength along one flank against an opponent with a dangerous wide player. He can also play in the central positions. Strikers This provides the most difficult choices given the abundant talents at our disposal. The all-round game of Moses Simon trumps what is offered by other attackers in the team. The question is, will he make it to the camp on time. Manu Garba will surely start with Taiwo Awoniyi upfront and then others will follow. Although this forward line have talents in them. There will have to be a goal contribution from those attacking players picked in the midfield. Olawale Leke's Flying Eagles World Cup Squad: Goalkeepers: Leke Ojo, Joshua Enaholo, Dele Alampasu Defenders: Prince Omego, Zaharadeen Bello, Samuel Okon, Mustapha Abdullahi, Musa Mohammed, Wilfred Ndidi Midfielders: Bernard Bulbwa, Ifeanyi Matthew, Chidiebere Nwakali, Musa Yahaya, Kingsley Sokari, Idowu Akinjide Attackers: Taiwo Awoniyi, Isaac Success, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alhassan Abdullahi, Godwin Saviour, Moses Simon |

safarigirl:Nacho joined at a young age, but he was not ready for professional football. It still takes hard work to turn a young talented player into a World Class Superstar. The EDS is a work in progress, but the promise is great. |

Saviour to gate crash Flying Eagles final squad https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2015/05/Samm_30_April_4_580x473.jpg Godwin Saviour is set to be one of the surprise inclusions on the Flying Eagles squad to the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand after he showed remarkable progress in training camp in Germany. Nigeria will announce a final 21-man squad for the World Cup on Friday and coach Manu Garba has admitted there could be a couple of "gate crashers". Saviour, who plays with both legs whether on the flanks or as a striker, was part of the squad who won the U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, where he played a largely bit role. He was not involved in the Flying Eagles qualifying series for the African Youth Championship or the competition proper in Senegal, but he has shone with the country’s Olympic team under Samson Siasia to earn a recall to the Flying Eagles. “He is the most improved player in the training camp and if he could do a few things right, he could well be the star of the World Cup because he will score a lot of goals,” said one of the Flying Eagles coaches.
