Finally! That spambot banned me since so I couldn't celebrate with Awoniyi my loff on his hat-trick angry....anyway, now that I'm free....

I'm highly impressed with the striking force. We have to remember that this team has never really had a strong defence, we menntioned this during the U-17 world cup. They thrive onn early goals to psychologically weaken their opponents.

Apparently, that hasn't changed. I do agree that we need to tighten the defence, hopefully we can do that before the tournament. I doubt the Brazilians will pity a weak defence.

That being said, this Saviour dude may just be the wildcard to replace Isaac on the bench....if we have Moses, Awoniyi and even Kelechi (as a false 9) we may not really need him

Our defense line seems to be shaky without Ndidi , Manu needs to work on that so that we can have a decent World Cup without conceiving too many goals and putting the team under pressure .

Great one from our flying eagles. This team is just too hot, I pity brazil, yes seriously. Their team is in disarray sef, they just appointed a new coach for their team few days to tournament.

But who cares? This is our time to whitewash them, demolish them and boost the morale of our players. Our team has always been like that defensively, but what they lack in defense they have it abundantly in attack.

Their motto is: "Attack is the best form of defense"

I hope we lift this cup finally.

I don't know why we are all complaining about brazil. We are goin to top our group 4 sure.
I've taken time to study our opponents in this world cup and i can tell you that our real threats are Germany, Argentina, Uruguay. I woulda included mexico but it seems lyk we have their medicine. Brazil was 4th in the CONMEBOL U20 so we shuldn't fidget. Germany re the real deal.. The hav david selke too and argentina has giovanni simeone (diego simeone's son). But am confident we will win all of them.. All i've just written was for u guys to stop focusin on the brazil match like its out toughest. GarBa boys hav won all the first match at any tournament, brazil na sure win

For me it is not like people commenting on brazil here are afraid of them but we are only looking forward to the great resounding defeat the brazillians will suffer from our flying eagles. Remember our record against Brazil and all south american nations at the U-20 level. Mentioning brazil frequently on this thread is not about fear but about the sweet victory are expecting on june 1st.

Exclusive: Moses Simon May Miss Out On Flying Eagles 21

Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba is undecided on whether to include Gent (Belgium) forward Moses Simon in his final list of 21 for the FIFA U20 World Cup, SL10.ng can reveal.

The Flying Eagles coach has all but concluded on his team for the World Cup in New Zealand, but is yet to decide on two players.

The 19-year-old Simon is currently involved in a league play-off for his Belgian club, and is not expected to join the Nigerian U20’s until at least May 25.

Although Manu is disposed to having the former AS Trencin attacker on the team, SL10.ng can reveal that he’s unsure of whether to include Simon on the final list since he hasn’t been a part of the team and as a result he’s yet to submit his list to the NFF.

The deadline for the submission of final lists is midnight on Friday, and Manu has until Friday evening to submit his list to the NFF for onward submission to FIFA. A source understands that “Simon and one other player are giving the coach serious thoughts”.

And as it stands, SL10.ng can reveal that “one or two prominent names” will be dropped from the final 21-man squad.

Meanwhile, SL10.ng can also reveal that barring any last minute change, the three goalkeepers on the list will be Joshua Enaholo, Dele Alampasu and Adamu Abubakar, with Leke Ojo expected to be axed.

Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Isaac Success have all made the list, barring any last minute change.

Olorunleke Ojo should go and play with his mates lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

On a serious note, I do feel he is over aged because he is so massively built that it is difficult to see how a 19 year old has built so much.
Re: Flying Eagles of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (New Zealand 2015) by TheGoodJoe(m): 9:42am On May 13, 2015
I will feel disappointed if Chidera Ezeh or Godwin Saviour gets axed and Success arrives late in campand makes the team.

Fingers crossed. My disappointment will not mean I do not trust the judgement of the Coaching crew.

If the recent report is believed, Moses might be axed to accomodate Godwin... Moses has not been a part of the team, Iheanacho and Success have.

This is true that guy looks too old, he should go and sit down. We don't want a situation other countries will be insinuating that Nigeria cheated when we perhaps eventually win.

It has gotten to that stage where I am comfy with any player dropped. Manu Garba has proved over and over again to pick his team based on merit. For the fact that we're not with them in camp, we do not know the most in form players. What I just want is to have a TEAM that is going to beat the world.
The success of this team has always being in taking their chances and attacking space, not individual qualities per se.

By Shina Oludare0May 11, 2015 11:45:00The Nigeria U20 midfielder has revealed that his side are on track to lift the 2015 U20 World Cup in New ZealandFlying Eagles skipper Musa Muhammed has said his side have all it takes to emerge as world champions at the 2015 Fifa U20 World Cup in New Zealand. The 2015 African Youth Championship top scorer is assured that the depth of quality in the squad as well as hard work will give his side the upper hand when the competition starts on May 31.“Yes, we can do it again. We will not disappoint the millions of fans back in Nigeria who have so much confidence in this team,” Muhammed told theNFF website.“We have trained very hard, we are focused, we have the quality and we are ready to make history again. We will give everything to win the World Cup in New Zealand.“[The AYC has helped a lot especially as we promised the whole nation that we will be going to the World Cup as African champions. We have done so and that has lifted our self-belief considerably.”With less than seven days to the announcement of the final squad by Manu Garba and his technical crew, he divulged that the tension is very high in camp as everyone is working hard to make the final cut.“There is a lot of tension in the team, every one of us is fighting to make the final squad. We are all putting our lives on the line to be on the flight to New Zealand. The coaches now have the chance to pick the best to represent Nigeria,” he added.“The coach picks the team and I will be very proud and happy to make the final squad. No one has an automatic shirt in the team, we all have to fight to be selected and the competition has been very fierce.Nigeria’s first game is against six-time world champions Brazil on June 1 before facing Hungary and North Korea and Muhammed opined that no team will be taken for granted.“Brazil is Brazil and Nigeria is Nigeria. Everyone is talking about Brazil, but they ought to also be talking about Nigeria.“We respect all the teams in our group, but we will approach each game as a World Cup final. We are up to the challenge. We are driven to succeed,” he concluded.

Flying Eagles 70% against Hoffenheim says Manu

Coach Manu Garba has scored his Flying Eagles 70% after they got off to a winning start on a training tour of Germany ahead of the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The African champions brushed past Hoffenheim U23 5-2 on Tuesday as part of the build-up to the U20 World Cup, which starts on May 30.

“It was a good outing overall and I will score us about 70%,” said Manu after the thrilling encounter.

“We started the game slowly, but we later picked up to play our normal game.

“But again we need to work on our defence by taking on more defensive responsibilities and our finishing has to be better as we lost several chances.

“All the same, we should also praise the Hoffenheim team, they are a team of professional players and they took the game to us very early on.”

The Flying Eagles next game will be on Friday afternoon in Nurnberg against the Nurnberg U23s, before they play their final warm-up match against Freiburg U23 team on May 19.

Man City Star Delayed Camp Arrival Due To Visa HitchVisa Hitch Delays Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho Arrival To Flying Eagles Camp In Germanyby SL10May 11, 2015 11:32 AMTags:Kelechi IheanachoManchester CityFlying EaglesManchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho is currently being held back from the Flying Eagles camp as he is yet to secure a visa to travel to the camp in Germany.SL10.ng gathered the 18-year-old has submitted his passport to the German embassy in the United Kingdom but he is yet to get a reply. His case is made more curious and serious as England is not a member of the European Union meaning he can't travel across the continent with his UK permit. However an answer if he will be granted a visa to hook up with his colleagues will be known by today but the team already has a plan B in case he doesn't get a visa. The plan will be for him to hook up with his colleagues in New Zealand since the crew are satisfied with his form and fitness for Manchester City EDS in their last four games.Iheanacho has scored three times in his last four games for Manchester City youth teams including the winner against FC Porto in the final of the International Premier league cup.
