These right-brained writers will never admit that no party since the history of the geographical expression called Nigeria could survive the military for up to 16 yrs, from the days of Action Group, to NPN, so SDP and NRC. It took PDP to keep the military away from politics and handover Nigeria as a Democratic Entity to another civilian party. APC the way it is constituted could NEVER have handled it the way PDP handled Nigeria and diplomatically transitioned it from one party state to a multi-party democracy. You must give it to PDP. Without PDP, there would have been no democratic Nigeria. Needless to say, there would have been no APC. So therefore, APC is just a grandchild of PDP. Fullstop fools. 3 Likes 1 Share |

It's a big shame that Jonathan is leaving nothing in the coffers for Buhari. This is unlike in 2007 when the outgoing President Obasanjo, after clearing our debts, left some money in the coffers for Yar'Adua/Jonathan. |

Our problem is lack of true federalism. Most states governors does nothing to increase their internally generated revenue since they are certain hand out is coming from federal givernment. The moment states are made to generate and pay tax to federal government instead of the present arrangement then half of the problem will be solve. Same goes for loal government chairmen. The fact is some states are richer than others and same goes also in united States. Every States, local government area need to generate their revenue and spend according to what is generated. Oil prices will continue to go down due to oil discovery in new places and over reliance on oil is a recipe for disaster.. Buhari does not have any magic to do and he knows that. All he has to do is true federalism and reduce in cost of governance. Federal government has way too much responsilities that makes it impossible to accomplish. My opinion though.. |

xandy84: Even with true federalism.....you would still have many lazy state governors. The fact is...most Nigerians don't want true federalism. Most Nigerians just want to chop oil money all day long...and that includes many of the true federalism advocates. Because it is far easier to do that than actually work at developing innovative economies. |

I really pity GMB as the rot he is inheriting will almost kill him with it's stench. For all those Jonathanians/GEJites who were shouting Transformation hope you have seen it all with the accrued debt all over? Hope you all are enjoying the hardship caused by the fuel scarcity and lack of electricity? I have confidence in GMB as he has done it before and will do same this time around. He inherited a Nigeria that was bastardized by Shagari and Umaru Dikko but was able to stabilize the nation even as a military man. He is once again inheriting a bastardized nation courtesy of the PDP and its poor leaders and I am sure he will deliver but surely needs time and the cooperation of Nigerians.
