What a humble man! He's too innocent to be a leader. Those who criticise him should know one thing- he is mature. All Nigerian past leaders did wrong. But how many of them have been humble enough to admit their mistakes and apologise. He may not be the best leader but he is a good man. |

socialmediaman:Onyeoma u r a worthy opponent but u have to observe that the rot that happened in Jonathan's tenure didn't start there but it was made open becos 1.signing of FOI bill into law which OBJ refuse to do,and least I forget didn't OBJ doubled as both the president and minister for petroleum, which makes corruption and money paid to oil marketers impossible to ascertain.mind u am not defending Jonathan but they two of us r engaging in serious discussion about the men mention and their two tenures |

Yeah OBJ doubled as minister of petroleum but before Jonathan assumed office, the subsidy payments were 400 billion under Yaradua, they shot up from 400 billion to 2.5 trillion during his administration. You're right that media expansion and outburst helped in making Jonathan's case more publicly pronounced, it's a reality we have to deal with though it started during Yaradua's time, if you remember the media fuss about his health circulating all over. Do you remember Richard Nixon and the water gate scandal in America? Do you know he was the one who planted those audio recorders in the White House during his first tenure as president that later exposed him and made him one of the most hated presidents in America? If you observe very well, GEJ enjoyed the sympathy and goodwill of Nigerians till at least one and half years into his government when scandals upon scandals started, coupled to the rising influence of the insurgency, people soon got tired of the statements after every destruction of lives etc and it wasn't long they lost sympathy with the president because how could a group of people be bigger than the presidency? It shows the commander in chief wasn't capable of the job. People can stand by you in times of trials but you've got to show that you're still in charge because the unity and welfare of The country depends on it. He got all he wanted, 900 billion plus extra 1 billion dollars to fight insurgency etc, what else? Are people going to eat stories of conspiracy? Remember if the presidency fails, Nigeria is finished, the job needs someone who is tough, not loose when it comes to critical issues. Okeycima: |
