I totally agree. The Factors are numerous. Others (I think) would include desire, hardwork, Player's life style, choice of club, willingness to accept correction, Player's true age and the ability to handle pressure and criticism.

Very good. It is a universal principle. The same with our coaches. They are very lazy. Manu Garba is just so special

SKY Sport to screen all U-20 World Cup matches live in New Zealand

The world’s future football superstars are coming to New Zealand to showcase their sublime skills and SKY Sport will be there to capture every moment of the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015.

The 52-game event is being hosted in New Zealand for the first time, with matches spread across the country, and SKY Sport has LIVE coverage of every game of the star-studded tournament.

“Hosting the FIFA U-20 World Cup is a huge deal for New Zealand, and being able to screen every match will give customers a great opportunity to enjoy another world-class event on SKY Sport,” said Richard Last, SKY’s Director of Sport.

“The event will feature the future superstars of the most popular sport in the world – and it’s fantastic we’re able to experience another international sporting event so soon after the hugely-successful ICC Cricket World Cup.”

The FIFA U-20 World Cup has been a launching pad for some of the biggest names in world football. Previous U-20 events have kick-started the careers of Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona and Ronaldinho.

Local Organising Committee Chief Executive Dave Beeche says having every game live on television is fantastic news for the tournament.

“SKY has proven to be one of the best in the business when it comes to broadcasting live sport, and we’re very excited to have them on board for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

“Our goal is to fill the stadiums, and would encourage fans to get in quick if they want to experience the thrill of the game live in the stadium environment. However, we appreciate that even the most committed fans will struggle to get to every game, so we’re delighted SKY are covering the entire event,” said Mr Beeche.

FIFA Director of TV Niclas Ericson said: “FIFA is delighted to be working with SKY Sport in New Zealand to broadcast and promote the FIFA U-20 World Cup this year. The FIFA U-20 World Cup showcases the very best in young talent in the game – this is where fans get to see the stars of the future.

FIFA believes the staging of this major tournament and SKY’s dedicated, world-class coverage of the matches will raise the profile of football in New Zealand to a new level and inspire a whole new generation of players and fans.”

SKY’s coverage starts with the opening match between New Zealand and Ukraine at North Harbour Stadium, on Saturday 30 May.

Fans can also enjoy the FIFA U-20 World Cup free-to-air on Prime, starting with live coverage of the opening match between New Zealand and Ukraine. Once the tournament kicks off, Prime has highlights of all the action on the field and delayed coverage of New Zealand matches and the final. Full broadcast details will be released closer to the event.

MANU GARBA: FRIENDLY VICTORIES MEANS NOTHING

Coach of the Flying Eagles of Nigeria Manu Garba is not getting carried away by the recent spate of victories recorded by the Flying Eagles ahead of the Under-20 World Youth Championship in New Zealand.

Manu Garba lead team have so far scored 14 goals in the three friendly games they have played, conceding twice and sowing traits of a team that is fully ready to take on the rest of the World at the World Youth Championship.

The coach is however not so much in tune with the recent praises that have come the way of the team insisting it counts for nothing if they fail to replicate such feat at the World Youth Championship.

"Good for our confidence level but the victories will mean nothing unless we do same at the World cup proper" He told Mowizsoccer.

On the areas of the team that still needs strengthening, the Under-17 world cup winner stressed his team defence needs fine tuning but the attack also despite scoring 14 times needs to be more clinical in front of goal.

"We missed too many chances in all of the games we play and that is a concern although am happy we creating them, we are a bit lacking one or two things in defence but you can play it down to the fact that we used three different goalkeppers, we will fix up all those areas before the game against Brazil"

MORE TO AWONIYI GAME THAN GOALS....Ugbade

Assistant Coach of the Nigeria Flying Eagles Nduka Ugbade says there is more to the game of top striker Taiwo Awoniyi than scoring of goals.

The lanky forward has been the most talk about youngster in the Nigeria youth team set up picking up the top scorer and MVP award at the super 4 invitational tournament before scoring four times for the Under-20 to help them clinch the Africa Youth Championship.

He was drafted to the Nigeria Under-23 team and scored twice to propel Nigeria to the All-Africa games on a 2-1 aggregate win and so far ahead of the World Youth Championship with five goals from three friendly games.

However Ugabade told Mowizsoccerblog in a chat after the team 4-1 friendly win over Freiburg Under-23 that the 18 year old has blossomed into an all round forward capable of doing much more than scoring goals.

"Taiye (Taiwo Awoniyi) has grown into the striker we always wanted him to be although there is still room for improvement in some areas of his game, most people talk about his goals but there is much more to him than scoring goals" He said.

"Most people forget so soon the goals he created at the Africa Youth Championship plus the penalties he won for the team, He brings others into play with his hold up abilities and can pick a defense splitting pass aside his strong point of pulling defenders out of position for others to pounce".

FLYING EAGLES PERMITTED IHEANACHO TO PLAY FOR MAN CITY

Kelechi Iheanacho who featured and scored for Manchester City EDS in their 4-0 win over Southampton was permitted to play for the team last night by the officials of the Flying Eagles to help boost his fitness ahead of the World Youth Championship.

Iheanacho who also picked up two assist in the win is suppose to be in camp with the Nigeria Under-20 team but according to details made available to Mowizsoccer he was permitted to play the game by officials of the Nigeria team.

"We have heard a lot about accusations bothering on his commitment but that is not true , we permitted him to play in the game as it falls on same day we are having our final friendly game" He said

"People forget so soon that he missed the game against Manchester United and it was confirmed by the team that he has being released for the World Youth Championship but we allow him play as visa issues kept him in Manchester"

A team source told Mowizsoccer that when the 18 year old was battling to obtain a Schengen visa to join up with his international colleagues in Germany, Manchester City application for him to be granted a work permit made him terminate the process as he also need his passport for same purpose.

The source said after he was issued a work permit if he is to re apply for a Schengen visa it will cost him few days of training hence they decided it's better he meet them up in New Zealand.

In addition to keep himself fit for the tournament Manchester City approached Nigeria for permission to use him in their EDS game and the Nigeria team willingly obliged as it will help sharpen the player's fitness ahead of the daunting task of the World Youth Championship.

Manu: We Selected Players On Merit, Not Sentiment

Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba says he has selected his 21 players for the FIFA U20 World Cup based on merit, and nothing else.

Manu announced his final squad to the competition in New Zealand last Friday, with the only top casualty being Alhassan 'Muazam' Ibrahim, but Manu says he has done his selections based on what the players have been able to do for the team and for their clubs.

"I have always said it that we would select our players based on merit and not on sentiments," he said.

"We have been with the boys for some time now and we have selected them based on what we have seen of them.

"If it were possible I would have selected all of them because they're all very good players but we only have to pick a specified number and we have selected only the best of them at this minute."

The former Nigeria U17 coach also spoke on why he selected some of the overseas based players who aren't with the team in Germany.

"None of those boys (overseas based) got selected because they play abroad. We understand their clubs couldn't release them and you can't blame the boys for that but we monitored their progress for their clubs and we are satisfied," he added.

New Plymouth Plan May 29 Welcome Party For F/Eagles

Spokeswoman for the local organizing committee in New Plymouth, Theresa Caley, has revealed that an official welcome party will be organized for all teams to be based there on May 29 at 6pm at Waitara’s Owae Marae.

Hungary will be the first team to arrive in New Plymouth to complete preparations for the FIFA under-20 World Cup football tournament.

The Central European teams are due to arrive in the city late on Thursday, several days earlier than originally planned.

“They are currently in transit so are unable to confirm with them their exact plans for their stay in Taranaki,” said Theresa Caley, spokeswoman for the local organizing committee.

She however did not rule out the possibility of the Hungarian team playing in an unofficial warm-up match in the province before the start of the tournament proper.

“That’s currently a work in progress,” she said. “We are planning to catch up with them on Friday morning to gain a better understanding of their plans.”

Hungary only just qualified for the tournament, finishing third in their European qualifying tournament.

They lost their opening games 3-1 and 6-1 against Austria and Portugal, but then beat Israel 2-1 in their final game.
