Akwa Ibom is not owing salaries of workers or pensioners.
Why haven't the report stated in clear terms the number of months owed by Akwa Ibom Govt.
My mum is a pensioner, she has collected her April pension!
That's what i try to let people know...if a Nigerian worker is owed a month salary he/she will always hype it to look as if his forever salary have not been paid grin grin

This is disastrous, Let's just say approximately all states in Nigeria are owing Wether P.D.P or APC or XYZ.....Madam Ngozi Iweala has thrown d economy into a big mess..Havard my foot. Yeah, Crude oil price has gone south so States can't afford to pay workers. It shows how stupid dis country is, anyway d Blame stops at Jonathan's Desk. He is/was d president and he should have grown the balls to fire or atleast sanction NOI for her terrible job performance. ....Pls as from now on, let no government appoint any "foreign expatriate" to man the affairs of this country. Havard, Yale, World bank-Mean nothing.....We need "real nigerians" with indegenous, homebased work experience. Who really understand d problems facing the country and have practical solutions.......Not people who work based on textbooks they read in school.

This labour force self...yea Abia owes the workers in ABSUTH but it is not more than three months...The primary and secondary school teachers have got at least their march salaries. Those in Abia state civil service have been paid their April salaries...I see no reason for strick considering our economic situation now...maybe the ABSUTH could jst give a 1wk warning strick
Your post is annoying and insensitive.

Are you trying to say that they should wait for 1 year before complaining.
How do you expect them to cater for their families without salary for 3 months. Even if you are still in secondary school you should be able to understand that.

What economic situation is one considering when states like Enugu, Anambra and Ebonyi with much lower allocations have managed to pay their staff and execute more projects.

How can a state with an IGR treasure like Aba, oil producing communities (13%derivation, NDDC) be owing salaries.

Abia state has an extremely irresponsible government.

lt all depends on what you define as poor performance. Enugu city enjoyed 8 years of total government attention in beautification and road construction. Abia enjoyed 8 years of industrial growth and construction of power generating and distribution plants. Between beautification of one city and industrial growth which would you choose. Inability of States to pay salary is as a result of dwindling oil revenue and their inability to increase IGR

You read the article I suppose, digested it and your brain came up this.

Is NOI responsible for managing the economic affairs of the given states.?

Did the states claim that they did not receive their allocation?

Why are some states able to pay and others owe?

If you do not start asking questions of your local politicians from ward councillors to LG chairmen to state governors but instead "robotically" scream FG then you will continue to languish in penury and debt because these politicians will keep milking you dry and blaming the FG.

My choice of words might be wrong but i still don't see the reason for these hype...the governor has already pleaded and gave logical reasons for them to exercise some patience...though i don't work in ASBUTH and am not proud of the debt but it will be the height of irresponsibility if they embark on an indefinite strike

So Amaechi is just owning one month of unpaid salaries........................where are those foolish Amaechi haters?

Are yu serious?! Don't allow ur political party determine ur sense of reasoning. Amaechi is collecting 13% derivation plus a good IGR moreso that the FG had paid all its monthly allocation to Rivers. So wats the excuse dude?

- Well, NOI/federal Govt has to share in the blame....If this was happening in 1 to 5 states, i'd blame only the State-Govts but with 20+states owing then something is definitely wrong fundamentally...federally. You can't completely absorb the federal Govt from this mess. Afterall, it too has been owing.

Some states like Kano were added for political effect. There is nothing there. Benue on the other hand is a small case compared to other states but if performance was about paying salaries then nearly every govnor wud have been cool. Fact is that Suswam did not do himself any favours as far as Benue is concerned. His punishment comprises of likely jail time and or living with the ignominy of a poor performance for another 3 odd decade before he checks.

So what do you think the state Housez of Assembly exist for if you are blaming the Fed govt for the poor performance of the state govts?
Fed govt cannot force any state to take any action the state is not inclined to. Leave FG alone for state matter.

There is a short fall of about 40% in the allocation to each state, but that doesn't justify state owing salaries especially the oil producing states.

Of the 18 states, 10 are PDP and 8 are APC. So, what the he'll are you saying. Are you daft, simply mischievous, or un-educated? Choose one, lol.

And if you look @ the proportion of months being owed, PDP states have more!

No Niger Delta state or oil producing state should be on that list with all the extra-statutory allocation they get from the FG! It's a shame!

Abia had been a sorry case since Orji Kalu. TA Orji just made it worse! I wished Alex Otti of APGA won!

I know you were disappointed by the list because your premonition was that Osun was the only states in Federation owing workers salaries, and that is why you displayed the naivety and the infinitestimality of your sense of thinking, honestly.

Out of all states mentioned, how can you single out Osun only? If economy of Osun who is among the state receiving the lowest allocation in Nigeria is bigger than that of China, how much more of a state like Anambra with huge allocations and better internal revenue as compared to Osun which is owing workers salaries up to nine months?

On the issue of Osun Defender tarnishing the image of Ndigbo. In your sense that lacks deep mental horizon, how did Osun Defender, a local newspaper in Osun state becomes the mouthpiece of journalism in Nigeria if I may ask? A simple research on-line show many sources, but your sense of hatred and 'better than thou' attitude further buttress your stupidity.
