Hello People,

I have watched this forum for the past few years and I must say I do not like what it has become.

I am a Nigerian from the Yoruba tribe married to a wonderful Igbo Lady and have wonderful friends( both Igbo and Yoruba). The notion on this forum that Yoruba's hate Igbos or Igbo hate Yoruba's should please just stop because generations after us would read this forum and would begin to abhor hatred to other tribes.

I was in churchj yesterday and a female Igbo MD came out for thanksgiving and could not finish her speech without thanking her Yoruba Musiim Lawyer (a SAN) for doing her case for free when she could not afford a lawyer.

Another example is a colleague of mine that used to report to a fellow Igbo man. He wasnt confirmed in over three yearsbut was recently confirmed by his new Yoruba boss immediately after his appraisal.

I once worked at a place where my boss was Igbo. For a fact he was way better than the other Yoruba guy i was also reporting to.
My life is also an example of love from Nigerians of different tribes.

I think the tribalist on Nairaland both Yoruba and IGbo should begin to renew their mind and begin to realize that anyone can be good to you regardless of tribe. At least our politicians dont think of tribe when they steal our money.

So please to all you tribalist just let it end with you. Don't spread it because it is a form of mental laziness to connect most situations to tribal wars.

I would also encourage peace loving Nigerians to please speak against this sad people whenever they start their hate write ups.

God bless us all.

My friend the WRITER.

Tribalism did not start on Nairaland.

The Yoruba/Igbo fight did not start on Nairaland, and it will not end here.

It started before you were born. It started before the Civil war. It started before you met your igbo wife,it started a long time before our ancestors even knew it had started and the sooner you take sides the better. There is nothing that you and i can do to change it, i mean you can trek from Lagos to Australia and back to raise people's awareness about tribalism on Nairaland, and TEAM Yoruba and TEAM Igbo will still be in their trenches firing bullets.

I am from the South South and i have chosen TEAM Yoruba, just in Case Nigeria breaks up. There is no way i want to be counted among the BIAFRAN'S.

In your own case, its a little bit tricky considering the fact that you are Team Yoruba, and your Wife is Team Igbo. You know for a fact that your wife will not leave her people and follow you right?(incase Nigeria break)and there is no way you will leave Oduduwa land for the Biafran side right?JUST DEY THINK SECOND WIFE MATTER(just in case)

But i digress.

Back to Nairaland and the Tribal War. Seun needs to look into it and all these E-TRIBALIST we have here should be banned and sent on a permanent exile.

This whole tribal attacks resumed after the election..
No one condemed the yorubas when they started calling igbos all sorts of names.
No one condemed them when they started tounting igbos that they have no political relevance in today's politics, knowing fully well that the election was clearly a case of 4 regions against 2....how do u win in such an election.
They kept opening meaningless threads,no one said anything.
They keep complaining whenever igbos are progressing, when igbos try to defend their hardwork that brought them success, the yorubas term it "chest beating".did igbos make them lazy?
Some are pained ordinarilly that there is no fuel scarcity in the east, finding it hard to believe, why?
Finally, why does the mere mention of biafra send shiverings to their spines?what are they so afraid to loose, from a tribe they hate and envy so much?
If you don't want igbos as you claim, support their struggle for biafra, simple.
One more thing, the igbos careless about SS support, its your choice,no one is forcing you.
They are in for some 4yrs crying o,the earlier they accept it,the better.
As you lay your bed,so shall you lay on it.

Please why not try to understand people as individuals before concluding. Prove to me you have never met someone outside your tribe that has been good to you.

My take-For generations unborn dont let us fill them with hate.

Tribalism is here to stay and there is nothing OP can do about it,in any multi-ethinic country there is always tribalism,go to any country in the world expecially indian, russia, ukraine, france, brazil and so on you will realise NIGERIA is better,if the OP got married to Igbo doesnt mean we must all cross-breed

Good point OP...But just go through the politics section and count the number of ethnic induced threads created, by who and against who...Then you will know where the problem is coming from...

Those who matter on both sides sit in the comfort of their offices, houses and clubs sharing the national cake over bottles of wine with pretty damsels from both sides too dancing on their laps while the hungry and unemployed insult themselves online

Ifeanyi Uba, Arthur Eze, Femi Otedola, Wale Tinubu, Alhaji Indimi, Ayiri Emami all share from our oil and fuel troubles yet some stay online 24/7 spreading hate.

Some shout secession and i ask who will divide Nigeria? Who will pay for the bullets and guns? these same ones who are feeding fat from the anomaly?

Think of something else pls

Am not going to compare Nigeria and all this countries. My point is that this forum would be read by generations unborn and we would not want them to wake up and read this stuffs.

Just Imagine your self growing up as a kid with no hate filled in you then later in life stumble on this, wouldn't it change your outlook about life?

It's a lost cause. The mods are helpless, so is the admin. The hatred runs deep and it will get worse before it gets any better if ever. That's one thing i still respect Debosky for. As a mod,he put his foot down. And i think the usual diatribes that has become a regular with every frontpage story was toned down for a while.

So where is Debosky now.

I am concerned that with the way Nairaland is going no intelligent contribution would be made here again. Every contribution now is a tribal attack.

People are not ready to be logical in their thinking anymore. They take the Lazy way out(Tribal attack)

My brother, God will bless you for this write up. I also agree that this rubbish on nairaland must stop. I am not innocent of the tribalism going on here because I have been involved heavily in tribal wars here but am seriously trying to change. This Igbo vs Yoruba nonsense has to stop honestly.

The major tribalists are know here and they are not much both ways but the question is how to permanently take them out for good. I have dated very wonderful Yoruba ladies and just might end up marrying one.

You have my 100% support in this war against tribal fighting here especially the Igbo & Yorubas.

you think by hawking,armrobry,419,lobing in petypety trading is what is called success. All multinational companies in nigeria are owns by hausa/yoruba
just listen to yourself, attributing 419,robbery etc to a particular tribe simply because you have 10mb.
Its your type the OP is talking about.
What does your last paragraph mean?
