Agent Carter was cool, my standouts are Peggy of course and Jarvis, especially Jarvis. Didn't much care for Stark, felt the show could have had less of him, and more fights like Dottie-Peggy. Seriously Season 2 needs more throwdowns. All in all i enjoyed it, still prefer AoS though, maybe unfair cos i'm comparing AoS season 2 to AC season 1

Does anyone here know if there's an active DC/Marvel comic book thread?
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by sage1000: 9:47pm On May 19, 2015
Don't think so. Maybe create one in the literature section.

Jeremy Renner shared this pic on his twitter account. Does this mean Hawkeye will be on Cap's side in Civil War?

Marvel recently bought back the rights to Blade, Ghost Rider and The Punisher. There is talk that one of the three might feature in Season 2 of Daredevil. Who would you rather see? I'd personally like Punisher to appear. He shares many similarities with Daredevil and is the type of hard boiled hero that might survive Hell's Kitchen.
Watching season 1 again, anyone notice the sniper that took out the detective at the warehouse...could that be Bullseye? Also Foggy mentioned Matt's high school greek girlfriend...i'm thinking Elektra. Hope those two feature in season 2

I never liked Ghost Rider because of Nicolas Cage. While bringing him into the series might improve his rep among Marvel fans, I don't know if it's possible for him to fit in the plot, same goes for blade. I never saw the Punisher movie(s) but I know he's a bad a## and most likely the one that's show up.

Marvel does like their eastereggs so those were most likely references. Doubt Elektra will feature though.

I saw an article that deals with how the MCU leads up to Infinity War so i posted it here to save you guys the hassle and so we can discuss some doubts i have about the theories. SPOILER WARNING for AOU

We are eleven films into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and yet we are still somewhat blind as to what’s really happening with it all. There are plenty of dots to connect, it’s just the task of connecting them is a Herculean one to say the least. Despite that, I’ve undertook the challenge and I hope to high heaven that this all makes some sense to someone besides myself. Essentially, there are two concurrent themes running throughout the MCU and those are the Infinity Stones and the acquisition of superpowers. Seems obvious, but they’re more important than you think. In this theory I’ll cover how all the MCU properties thus far contribute to those two themes and also speculate slightly on what brought about the events of the MCU. To begin, I’ll summarise the event order of the MCU, which is as follows: · Captain America: The First Avenger
· Agent Carter
· Iron Man
· Iron Man 2
· The Incredible Hulk
· Thor · The Avengers
· Daredevil
· Iron Man 3
· Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 1, Ep 1 – 7
· Thor: The Dark World
· Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 1, Ep 8 – 15 · Captain America: The Winter Soldier
· Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 1, Ep 16 – 22
· Guardians of the Galaxy
· Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2, Ep 1 – 19
· Avengers: Age of Ultron
· Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2, Ep 20 – 23 Now that all that’s out of the way we can begin to take a look at the foundations of the MCU that pretty much acts as a launching point for both the Infinity Stones and the acquisition of superpowers. By the by, MAJOR SPOILERS for every Marvel movie and T.V. show from this point onward. Captain America: The First Avenger introduces us to the MCU’s first superhero and subsequently, the first human being to possess superpowers granted by something created by another human being. Nothing alien went into this, and that’s something I’ll get into more later on. We also encounter our first Infinity Stone, the Space Stone, encased within the Tesseract. One thing to note about the Tesseract is the exact location in which it is found. Inside a box with a carving of the Midgard serpent on it, embedded into a mural of Yggdrasil, inside a church in Tonsberg, Norway. We see in this movie that superpowers have a direct link to someone’s physical and genetic structure, but also their minds. This is seen in that Doctor Erskine accepts Steve Rogers for Project Rebirth due to his attitude and spirit over the physical strength of other candidates. We also see that when Johann Schmidt took the serum, he ended up deformed, due to the fact he was not subjected to Vita-Rays, the radiation that activated the serum in Steve Rogers’s blood. So, we can take away from this movie that superpowers are both physical and mental in nature. We also see the capabilities of the Tesseract. At first, it seems that the Tesseract is only capable of acting as a power source, being used to fuel all of Hydra’s new equipment. Later on though, we see that the Tesseract opens a portal, almost like a rift in space, and sucks Red Skull into the abyss. It’s worth noting that the Tesseract may have done this due to an influx of power, something that will prove important later on. We then see Howard Stark recover the Tesseract and we can assume he continued his experiments on it, trying to develop a means of using it as a power source as Hydra had. In summary, this movie showed us that superpowers are both mental and physical in nature and also that the Tesseract can be used as a source of power as well as a means of opening portals or rifts in space. As an addition, we can add the events of Agent Carter to show that anything that grants superpowers are something that corporations, secret societies and governments are all working to try and get their hands on. Also, the work of Doctor Faustus shows that people are still experimenting with milder forms of superpowers such as hypnosis and mind control. Next up we have the movie Iron Man which, as a direct result of Howard Stark’s experiments with the Tesseract, has a minor connection with the Infinity Stones. We know that Howard Stark experimented with the Tesseract and in Iron Man 2, which I’ll get into more detail in a moment, we see that those experiments led him to discover a new element. The furthest he could take that knowledge at this time was the creation of the ARC reactor. Essentially, some aspect of the Tesseract led to the creation of the ARC reactor. We also see that the world has given up on the pursuit of superpowers and has now begun to focus on advancing weapons technology. I hope to see this elaborated on more with the Ant-Man movie, which we know will feature a flashback sequence to Hank Pym’s time as Ant-Man in the sixties. Ant-Man is also a hero whose powers come from technology. I suspect this is why the pursuit of superpowers was abandoned, the world now favouring the pursuit of super technology. Then comes Iron Man 2, a film that existed purely to establish The Avengers,
and in doing so it provides us with the most links to other movies. In this film we see that Tony Stark is under pressure to surrender his Iron Man technology to the government. This further shows that superpowers are no longer perceived to be of any great importance and that technology is the best way to advance humanity’s efforts in war and defence. So much so, that several other nations are trying to develop Iron Man technology of their own, but failing. We also see that the ARC reactor was left unfinished by Howard Stark and had left Tony with the resources to finally finish his work. This is where the ARC reactor really begins to connect with the Tesseract. After Tony synthesizes the new element derived from the Tesseract, he uses it to power his electromagnet, saving his life in the process. Now, the ARC reactor is by no means an Infinity Stone. It displays only one of the Tesseract’s features and that is the ability to provide power. Also, the Tesseract derived power makes the repulsor blasts of the Iron Man armour a lot like the blasts of Hydra’s weaponry from the forties. It seems to me that the Tesseract is the link between these two instances. You’ll note that I’m saying Tesseract rather than Space Stone and there’s a very good reason for that. The Tesseract just contains the Space Stone. We then come to The Incredible Hulk, a film which showed superpowers once again coming into prominence. However, as far as we know, Bruce Banner has been on the run as the Hulk for several years. Due to his condition being considered a failure, this would have further fuelled the pursuit of technological advancement over human advancement. However, we see General Thunderbolt Ross retains a level of great interest in the Hulk, believing he could be used as a weapon. We also learn that the project that led to the creation of the Hulk was an attempt to recreate the work of Doctor Erskine and his super soldier formula. I believe the key fault made with this recreation was the use of gamma radiation instead of Vita-Rays. The gamma radiation led to Bruce Banner only being able to become the Hulk when angry, a mental state rather than a physical one. Also, he becomes exponentially more powerful than the super soldier serum originally allowed. However, the conditions further display that superpowers have both a physical and mental effect on an individual as well as those two things having an effect on the superpowers’ reaction in the individual. We then come to the film that introduced us to the Asgardians and their alien ways, Thor. This is a film that displays a world where science and magic are one in the same thing. We see things that would be impossible on Earth, but that are perfectly scientifically plausible in Asgard. Also, we see Tonsberg, Norway once again when the Frost Giants and the Asgardians engage in a battle there. We have to wonder what the significance of this place truly is. I believe the answer to that question likely lies in the carving on the box in which the Tesseract was being kept. The carving of the Midgard Serpent. We’ll get to that later though. Thor showed us that there are beings in the universe who are already genetically superpowered. Frost Giants are superpowered by genetics and Asgardians possess immortality as well as an aptitude for “magic” which can both be construed as superpowers, however the latter is taught rather than inherited. Either way, we see that human beings are quite feeble in comparison to other alien races, some of which possess superpowers by genetics rather than having to be granted them by formulae or radiation. We also get two Infinity Stone references in the movie. We see one of the Infinity Gauntlets (the right hand) in Odin’s vault. We also see that S.H.I.E.L.D. are in possession of the Tesseract and that they want Erik Selvig to carry out
experiments on it for them. In that scene, we also see Loki possibly influencing Selvig’s mind. The answer as to how he does this lies in the next instalment of the MCU. The finale of Phase One was The Avengers and it delivered several big clues as to what the nature of the Infinity Stones really is. If you think about it hard enough of course! We see that Loki is in the possession of the Mind Stone, embedded within a sceptre, given to him by none other than Thanos. We now know that the Mind Stone is yellow and that the casing is what made it seem blue in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Which leads me to think that the casing of the Mind Stone and the casing of the Space Stone are in some way connected. Both casings allowed for the Infinity Stone within to exhibit
its true power. Both casings allowed any weapons derived from it to fire blue energy blasts. Finally, and most obviously, both casings are blue. I also believe that this is how Loki was able to use the Tesseract to open a portal to Earth from wherever he was in the universe. He used the connection between the casings to power up the Space Stone and make it create a portal. Another thing that backs this up is that he appeared to be somewhat influencing Selvig at the end of Thor, possibly channelling the Mind Stone’s energy to him using the connection between the casings of the Mind and Space Stones. This is also why Thanos gave Loki the Mind Stone. As long as the Mind Stone remained within the sceptre, it would be connected to the Tesseract and thus, he’d be able to find either one quite easily, hence his willingness to give it away. While we’re talking about Thanos, I may as well mention the mid-credits scene of The Avengers. In this scene, we had confirmation that Death is indeed a physical entity with whom Thanos is in love. This is confirmed when the Other states that to challenge the Avengers “is to court Death”. Thanos turns and smiles and I believe this is the moment that he decides that the Avengers will be the enemies he uses to prove his love to Death.

We then come to Daredevil, the MCU’s first vigilante. This show displayed that someone who could potentially have gained superpowers at an incredibly young age was not tracked down by the government or a secret society in order to exploit them. Matt Murdock was able to go on with a more or less normal life after he had been taken in and trained by Stick. We also see that Matt needs to be in a particularly tranquil mind-set in order to use his powers effectively, again making superpowers both mental and physical in nature. As far as the other Netflix shows are concerned, I believe those shows will focus on the fact that these are characters who have gained superpowers in a world that no longer cared about superpowers. Aside from Iron Fist, which I believe will serve more of a mystical purpose and a setup for The Defenders team-up. We then come to Iron Man 3, a film which told us a great deal about superpowers with a minor hint as to something involving the grander cosmos. In this film, we’re introduced to the Extremis Virus, something that seems to grant superpowers to just about anyone. Although we do see that some people die when exposed to the virus, due to the fact that they’re unable to regulate the heat the virus gives rise to. Initially, Extremis was to be used as a means of allowing limb regrowth and to that end, many of the applicants for the programme were missing a limb. So, we see that Extremis has regenerative capabilities, grants super strength and endurance, and allows those more attuned with their powers (like Aldrich Killian) to breathe fire. Those are quite particular powers that it seems all those exposed to Extremis are capable of, there is no variation. Why is this the case? Killian explains that Extremis fills in a hole in the brain, a hole that shows human DNA is incomplete. Something is missing from human genetics, all human genetics. Everyone has this hole in their brain. Extremis fills the hole. Where did the hole come from? We’ll have to wait a while before we get into that question a bit more. Finally, the minor hint to the grander scheme of things that I mentioned earlier. Aldrich Killian, while trying to sell Extremis to Pepper at the start of the movie, accidentally brings up a hologram of the universe. It’s incredibly throw away when you don’t have to connect it to anything else, but when you do, there’s something else to it.
Why would a biologist have a hologram of the universe in his possession? Well, just think about where superpowers originally came from in the MCU. When I say originally, I mean thousands of years ago. We then come to the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which shows that the world is now very much interested in superpowers again. We see the organisation Centipede has begun to experiment with superpowers and we also see that S.H.I.E.L.D. has compiled an index of people who have superpowers. Also, the Rising Tide hacktivist group along with the action figures of the Avengers show that the general population very much cares about superpowered individuals once again. We see that normal people are now actively pursuing means of acquiring power. People are allowing Centipede to experiment on them, Franklin Hall is hired to experiment with Gravitonium, Scorch is taken in and experimented on by Raina, Cybertek are developing cybernetic enhancements for people, and some people even hunt down an Asgardian artefact in order to grant themselves with greater power. This is a world obsessed with superpowers but also the potential of combining superpowers with technology. This is seen most evidently and prominently in the creation of Deathlok, a superpowered individual later enhanced by cybernetics. We also see that people are developing a fascination with space, after all, Earth was invaded by aliens and a core member of the team that saved the planet was from another “planet”. We then come to Thor: The Dark World, a film that offered us our first uttering of the words Infinity Stones. In this movie, we see Malekith attempt to use the Aether, formerly the Reality Stone, to try and bring the universe into a state of total darkness so that his race can flourish once more. He is stopped by the Asgardians, led by Odin’s father Bor. This happened in 2987 B.C. which, given Bor’s appearance and Loki’s statement that Asgardians live for around 5,000 years, I believe Bor to be little less than 4,000 years old in this battle. Which makes Odin around 2,000 years old at this point. Essentially, that then puts Thor at around 2,500 years old in the modern day, with Odin reaching the end of his life. Back to the Aether, the newest Infinity Stone, which we know to be the Reality Stone. Its power was made quite clear in the movie. The Aether is capable of reverting all matter in the universe into a state of dark matter. This gives it a small link to the Tesseract, which supposedly relies on dark energy to create portals. In fact, Odin supposedly required dark energy to send Thor to Earth in The Avengers. So, it’s possible that dark energy is necessary to create portals and rifts in space. The Aether, unlike the other Infinity Stones is a liquid. This is due to the fact that Malekith weaponised the Reality Stone, converting it to a liquid form which made it easier for him to wield. The liquid form of the Aether may be the reason why it doesn’t kill
lesser beings upon touching them. I also think that Malekith was given the Reality Stone by Death =, who saw Malekith's goals as a means of increasing her own powers in the universe. We see Jane Foster survive for quite some time with the Aether in her system. That is assuming that all Infinity Stones require a living being of great power to wield them. Also, we learn that Odin used the Tesseract to rebuild the Bifrost after its destruction at the end of the Thor. Lastly, we see that Loki has replaced Odin on the Throne of Asgard. Sneaky bugger that he is! At the end of the film, we see Lady Sif and Volstagg deliver the Aether to Tanaleer Tivan, the Collector. He makes it quite clear that he is trying to acquire all six of the Infinity Stones. We are not sure why, but it seems to me that he has no motivation to collect things outside of the fact that he likes collecting things. No longer is he collecting various artefacts and aliens so as to rescue them from Thanos’s plans, but he just seems to like collecting
things. I may be wrong, but we’re yet to see proof that Tivan has any motive in his collection of the Infinity Stones. I’d also like to add that I believe Selvig’s chalk board in the mental institution held something of a clue as to what may come up in Doctor Strange. We see that the words “Nexus of All Reality” are written there. Evidently, Selvig has gone to great lengths to suss out the workings of the cosmos and this Nexus may well have something to do with Doctor Strange. We know that the movie will deal with inter-dimensional aspects of the MCU and the Nexus of All Realities is traditionally located on Earth and guarded by the Man-Thing, a character that was subtly referenced later on in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s first season. I believe that these two things, the Nexus and the Man-Thing, may well be touched upon in Doctor Strange but time will tell if I’m correct. We then come to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. once again. After the events of Thor: The Dark World we continue to see a rise in the interest people have in superpowers. We also see Lorelei come to Earth and Lady Sif says that Odin has sent her to retrieve Lorelei and bring her home. We know that Odin is Loki at this point in time, so what does Loki want with Lorelei? Could it be that he's already amassing an army for the inevitable day of Ragnarok? We'll have to wait and see. We see the team finally take the fight to Centipede and we see that quite a few people have now been enhanced by the Centipede formula. It’s also at this point that we see Mike Peterson get on the road to becoming Deathlok. We also meet John Garrett, who would later be revealed to be the Clairvoyant that Raina had been working for. There is also a larger focus on what happened to Coulson after he died. The MCU then changed forever as Captain America: The Winter Soldier revealed that Hydra had been hiding away inside S.H.I.E.L.D. since the organisation’s formation. The Winter Soldier himself further shows that superpowers quickly became outdated after the loss of Captain America, but technology became the best possible way of advancing humanity. Thus, superpowers were abandoned by Hydra, who began to focus on more technological methods of advancement. Obviously, this is not entirely true, as we later learn in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s second season that Doctor Whitehall had been carrying out experiments on Inhumans just after the war and eventually managed to use the power possessed by Skye’s mother to become essentially immortal. Back to the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. We see that Hydra has infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. and that they have been working their schemes into S.H.I.E.L.D.’s plans over the many decades so as to fully secure a
position of power. Hydra had begun to focus solely on technology to advance their aims, whereas S.H.I.E.L.D. had now begun to focus once again on individuals with superpowers. We see that Senator Stern, who was the Senator who wanted Tony Stark to give up his Iron Man tech to the government, was a Hydra benefactor. It’s obvious enough that he wanted the tech due to the fact that Hydra was now focusing on technology rather than superpowers as up until the appearance of the Avengers, superpowered people weren’t at all popular. We see in the movie’s post-credits scene that Baron Strucker has been experimenting on people, trying to grant them powers using Loki’s sceptre, which contains the Mind Stone. We learn also that the Maximoff twins are the only survivors of these experiments. Why? Their mentality of course. They wanted to have the power to stand up to Tony Stark and defeat him and the Avengers, believing them to be threats to the world. That was more or less the exact motivation Steve Rogers had for becoming Captain America. He didn’t like bullies. Once again we see that a certain mind-set makes it possible for someone to gain powers. We have to wonder though, about the hole in the brain. Patience, for that is the climax of the superpower aspect of this theory. I will say this; the Mind Stone obviously had something to do with the Maximoffs’ transformation.

We then return to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. where we learn that Ward and Garrett are actually Hydra agents and to boot, Garrett is the Clairvoyant that Raina has been working for. Garrett is also a cyborg, further showing that Hydra was more interested in technology than superpowers. After the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. however, that began to change. We see that they’re more interested in alien technology and the effects it can have on people. Hence Garrett’s obsession with T.A.H.I.T.I. and the GH-325 that brought Coulson back to life. Essentially, Hydra was now focusing on alien technology and biology in the hope that they could combine all of that and create technologically and biologically advanced super soldiers for themselves. Meanwhile, Whitehall is still focusing on Inhumans. However, we now leave the Earth entirely and head out into the cosmos for Guardians of the Galaxy. Easily the film that brought the most to the table in
terms of the Infinity Stones given the amount of exposition they had. We learn in this movie that the Stones were created after the universe began and were confirmed to have been created by the cosmic entities of Death, Entropy, Eternity and Infinity. This was confirmed in the Art of the Movie Book which displayed the mural from the walls of the temple vault on Morag in which the Orb was being kept. However, if you look at the image closely, you’ll see that, A) there’s a figure stood at the top of the mural and B) there’s a serpentine form wrapping around the outer edges of the mural. I believe the figure at the top to be a Celestial while I believe the serpentine form to be that of the Midgard Serpent, which you’ll recall was on the box in which the Tesseract was being kept. Why do I believe these things? Well, we know that the Celestials had the Power Stone in their possession at some point in history and that Eson the Searcher used it to destroy whole planets. We also know that the purpose of the Power Stone is to grant immense power to its wielder and anything they combine the Stone with. Ronan’s Universal Weapon became much more powerful when it had the Power Stone embedded inside it. Imagine what would happen if the Power Stone came into close contact with another Infinity Stone. Or all of them for that matter! That’s a topic for a little bit later on though. We also see Thanos once again and he’s still sitting down. However, it struck me as quite odd that he expressed no interest whatsoever in recovering the Aether from the Collector. Nor did he express any disdain when Ronan decided to use the Power Stone himself. In fact, he grinned. Thanos obviously has a grand scheme at play, but why is it he has no quarrels with the fact he’s basically lost every Infinity Stone he’s ever come close to having in his possession? Evidently, there’s something amiss here. We learn that Peter Quill’s father is something ancient and given the description of him that his mother gave, coupled with the fact that she nicknamed Peter Star Lord, I believe his father is either Starhawk or Starfox. Starfox would be quite interesting due to the fact that he’s Thanos’s brother, Eros and thus, Peter would end up being Thanos’s nephew. If Starhawk is his father, then there may be a way to link Starhawk with the Time Stone. In the comics, Starhawk has lived his life over and over again in an effort to finally defeat Michael Korvac. If they were to swap Korvac for Thanos, then Peter could essentially be the instrument of Thanos’s downfall that Starhawk ensured he brought into existence. Another thing to note is that the Production Title for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is Guardians 3000, the name of the current run of comics featuring the original Guardians of the
Galaxy. This could lead to something along the lines of the end of Thanos Imperative, the arc that saw Peter sacrifice himself, along with Richard Rider, to send Thanos to the Cancerverse. Thus, there are strong cases for both candidates and I’d be delighted with either outcome. They’re the only two that I can see making any sense, but we’ll have to wait and see where Marvel takes it. Next up is more or less the entirety of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s second season. This season focused primarily on superpowered individuals, going as far as to break them down into two categories, Enhanceds and Inhumans. Those that are enhanced are those that have been subjected to experimentation that has led to them gaining superpowers of a specific nature, such as with Cal becoming Mr. Hyde, Angar the Screamer, and indeed the Maximoff twins. Inhumans are a different kettle of fish given that their powers are genetic. Inhumans require a certain gene in order to gain powers and those powers are triggered by Terrigen crystals. How did the gene get there? Luckily we already know the answer to that question. The Inhuman gene is the result of Kree experimentation on early man. This would have occurred hundreds of thousands of years ago, and may explain why early civilisations ended up taking such a great interest in the cosmological ways of the universe. Hence the construction of Stonehenge and other such sites. However, over time and without Terrigen crystals to activate the powers, Inhumans quickly became an isolated part of society and eventually drifted away from the rest of humanity, leaving behind a large number of people who have recessive Inhuman genes. Herein lies the reason as to why people have a hole in their brain. The human genome is incomplete due to the fact that over time, the Inhuman gene has been recessed so much, it’s vanished. As a result, most of the population of Earth has been left with a hole in their brain, a region that essentially wants to be filled. Basically, everyone on Earth is capable of having powers, it’s simply a matter of having the right catalysts to grant those powers. Inhumans retain the gene due to it being hereditary. Skye has the Inhuman gene due to her mother being an active Inhuman. The second Avengers film, Avengers: Age of Ultron, didn’t seem to offer much in the way of the Infinity Stones or even in the way of superpowers. However, we see that as I said earlier, the Twins have a particular mind-set that I believe to be the reason they survived the experiments, in which the Mind Stone simply filled the hole in their brain which granted them power over either their mind or their body. I believe that Wanda’s power obviously stems directly from the Mind Stone’s ability to control people’s minds while Quicksilver’s power may well come from the saying, “mind over body”. His mind may remain intact but he may have an increased control over his body which allows him to move at phenomenal speeds. Another thing that adds weight to this “mind over body” possibility is the fact that Vision is capable of altering his body’s density to the point where he can phase through objects as well as fly and increase his mass to the point where he can lift Mjolnir. No, he isn’t worthy. If he had been worthy, he’d have been able to use Thor’s powers. We also catch a brief glimpse of all the Infinity Stones that we’ve seen thus far. Those being the Space, Reality, Mind and Power Stones. Of these, we know Thanos has actively pursued two of them while giving away a third and not seeming to know the fourth had even emerged. What’s more, the Mind Stone was removed from its casing. That means Thanos can no longer track both the Space and Mind Stones by using one to find the other. However, Thanos already knows where these two Infinity Stones are. He also knows that the Orb is on Xandar. This is why he decides he is going to start carrying out his plans himself. With that we come to the speculation on what Thanos is doing and where all of his plans have come from. To do that, we must go back to the very creation of the Infinity Stones. Then, we’ve got to work our way up to the present day. Sound difficult? Course it doesn’t! As I mentioned earlier, the Infinity Stones were created by the four cosmic entities, these being Death, Entropy, Eternity and Infinity. We see each of them in the four corners of the mural from the temple vault on Morag in which the Orb is being kept. Now, I mentioned earlier that I believe there to be a Celestial along with the Midgard Serpent being present in the mural also. Well, now I’m going to explain why. We see that Eson the Searcher, a Celestial, had the Power Stone and used it to destroy at least one planet at some point in the past. We also see that the Collector works his entire operation out of the severed head of a Celestial. I believe that this Celestial was killed by Eson, who took the Power Stone from the more benign Celestial beings and then used it to wreak havoc as he so pleased. Why did the Celestials have the Power Stone in the first place? Well, I asked earlier if you could imagine what the Power Stone would do if it were in close proximity to another Infinity Stone. I believe the Power Stone is the Infinity Stone that acts as a fuel cell for the other Infinity Stones. For example, if the Power Stone and Space Stone were used in tandem, the wielder could teleport anywhere without the use of a portal. Some evidence to back that up: Red Skull overpowered the Tesseract and it just teleported him away in an instant through a rift in space rather than a condensed portal. That is why the Celestials had the Power Stone. To prevent the cosmic entities from using it to grant them and their Infinity Stones with power that would disrupt the cosmic balance. After Eson meddled with the Power Stone, we can only assume that the Celestials tried to make sure something like that would never happen again and thus the Power Stone was locked away on Morag with a mural to warn invaders as to what they’re about to encounter. The second presence of note is of course the Midgard Serpent. Three guesses which Infinity Stone I believe the Midgard Serpent to be connected to. Of course it’s the Space Stone. We see that the Midgard Serpent is carved onto the box in which the Tesseract was found in Tonsberg, Norway. Speaking of Tonsberg, why is that place so significant? I believe that Tonsberg is the resting place of the Midgard Serpent. The Serpent’s job is to devour Yggdrasil at the time of Ragnarok and until then, it rests on Earth. I believe that the serpent is resting in Tonsberg for two reasons and one relies on the other. One being that the Tesseract’s box had the Midgard Serpent on it and thus the connection between the mural on Morag and the carving on the box. I believe that the Tesseract is what the Midgard Serpent will use to “devour” Yggdrasil. We’ll see whether or not I’m right in Thor: Ragnarok which will indefinitely shed some light on the subject. For now though, let’s assume that the Tesseract is connected to the Midgard Serpent and is now located on Asgard rather than Earth. That may well be the entire basis for the plot of Thor: Ragnarok. We learned from Red Skull that the Tesseract was the jewel of Odin’s treasure room. So why was it on Earth? I believe that the Tesseract was on Earth because Odin made a bargain with the Midgard Serpent. When the Jotuns invaded Earth, I believe their goal was to awaken the Serpent and perhaps they managed it. However, Odin stepped in and prevented further damage by offering the Midgard Serpent the Tesseract which one of his ancestors may have acquired from the Serpent many thousands of years ago. In exchange for saving Earth, Odin left the Tesseract on Earth until such a time as Ragnarok could finally go ahead and the Midgard Serpent could claim the Tesseract and devour Yggdrasil. However, the Tesseract is now on Asgard, which complicates things slightly. It’s possible that Odin planned on returning the Tesseract to Earth after he had used it to fix the Bifrost but now that Loki is on the throne, it’s doubtful that will happen. Like I said, until Thor: Ragnarok, we’re more or less entirely in the dark about what’s going to happen with the Tesseract. However, we do know that the Tesseract and the Orb contain the Space and Power Stones respectively and those are the two Stones Thanos actively pursued by sending Loki and Ronan to retrieve them for him. Why do this? If Loki failed, the Tesseract would end up on Asgard and Thanos could take out the threat of Asgardian interference with his plans while retrieving the Space Stone. If Ronan failed, the Orb would end up on Xandar where Thanos could destroy the Nova Corps, another potential threat to his plans. If both had succeeded, Thanos would have been able to use the Power Stone to amp up the Space Stone and use it to travel anywhere in the universe, quickly retrieving all the other Infinity Stones. So why give away the Mind Stone? Quite simply, Thanos gave away the Mind Stone because he could use it to track the Tesseract. However, due to the casing being broken that connection as no been lost. Thanos can probably venture a guess as to where the two Infinity Stones are though. Also, now Thanos can retrieve those three Infinity Stones quickly and easily. It’s likely that we’ll see him remove the Mind Stone from Vision in the near future, however whether Vision survives or not is another question. Still, if Thanos acquires those three Infinity Stones, finding the rest will be a cake walk for him. He can use the Power Stone to make it possible for the Mind Stone to read the mind of anyone in the universe, making finding the Aether quite an easy task. However, the Aether is a liquid, so how will he make it a Stone? Quite briefly in Thor: The Dark World, we see the Aether as a mass of shards after Thor has struck it with lightning. I assume that the massive amounts of energy and power are what made the Aether solidify. So, if the Power Stone were involved, the Aether would have no problem reverting to its more mineral form. That leaves two Infinity Stones left to be found. It’s worth noting that each of the Stones seem to be associated with particular entities. Power to the Celestials, Space to the Serpent, Reality to Death and Mind to Entropy. That leaves Soul and Time to be related to both Infinity and Eternity. So, who’s got what? It seems pretty obvious that Eternity would take the Time Stone and thus that leaves Infinity with the Soul Stone. I believe Phase 3 of the MCU will finally introduce us to the physical forms of these cosmic entities, with Eternity appearing in Doctor Strange and Infinity appearing Guardians of the Galaxy 2. We don’t know why these Infinity Stones were created, all we know is that they were and they’re now the centre of the MCU. Lastly, I’ll touch on the Infinity Gauntlet itself. It seems that there are two of them in the MCU, confirmed by Kevin Feige. Thanos has the left hand in his possession whereas the right hand is in Odin’s vault. The size of it suggests it too is a glove of Thanos’s. However, it has six stones on it. These are not Infinity Stones. I have no idea what they are, but they’re most definitely not
Infinity Stones. It’s possible that they’re the Infinity Stones for another reality. If so, I expect Doctor Strange will be the film to explain that one. If not, then any number of Phase 3 movies could explain it. All that’s certain is that Thanos has an empty gauntlet and he is now gearing up to start retrieving Infinity Stones by himself. It's also worth noting that Korath the Pursuer refers to Thanos as the most powerful being in the universe as well as Rhomann Dey calling him the Mad Titan. So what has he done to gain that repuatation?

phew, finally! It's no fun being banned trust me.
Ok i have some questions...first i watched GOTG again & Thanos looked pissed when Ronan took the Orb for himself, so how was it still part of the plan? Also Star Lord's mum described his dad as a being of "pure light". That could be any number of people, so guessing is hopeless.
Then the Captiain America movies, Howard Stark mentioned that Vibranium was the rarest metal on earth & Cap's shield was the last vibranium they had, but they obviously got it from somewhere yet no mention of Wakanda or how they got it. Seeing as Stark knew it was completely energy absorbent, it's difficult to imagine S.H.I.E.L.D letting it go.
Then Iron Man, Stark somehow "stabilized" extremis in Pepper and yet didn't use it? Supposedly he destroyed all of his suits in part 3, so where did Hulkbuster come from? And the suit he used in Aou?
About AoU Vision was worthy, that's only way he could have lifted Mjolnir. The magic of the hammer would make it unable to be lifted, irrespective of Vision's density powers if he weren't worthy. Afterall Hulk coudn't lift it in Avengers & he's stronger than vision.
Then Thor....Odin Allfather lost his eye in the battle with the Frost Giants at the beginning, yet supposedly he sacrificed the eye to the well of wisdom that waters Yggdrasil, the tree of the world. And how did they rebuild the bifrost after Thor destroyed it?

Good fan made Spiderman trailer, but what i like about it, sorry what i love about it, is the ideas; the idea of Asa Butterfield as Spiderman, the idea of using Kraven the Hunter as the villain, the idea of Gerard Butler as Kraven, the idea of Fisk recruiting Kraven to take down spidey, i love all of it! Make it happen Marvel!

What movie was that with the Russian accent talking about the "hunter"?

Not sure how I feel about this, The Ancient One is male for me, don't think there have ever been any female Sorcerer Supremes. On the other hand, i like the news about Death. It will definitely make tnkngs with Thanos more intetesting

I don't think a gender swap for The Ancient One is that much of a big deal. Would have preferred the original but Tilda seems good. After all she has played a guy's(technically an angel's but...) role before. As for Death, I just hope it will be much more than a reference, cameo or AC scene.

Am certain this "thanos in love with death storyline" won't be in MCU
They will just make him a crazy dude that wants to rule the universe, which I am all for and I think is a better motivation than a love crazed maniac trying to be worthy of his would be woman.
Presence of death won't really fit well

Depends on how they present it cos it's not as simple as that. Death is not really a female, but a cosmic entity, it just assumes the form that most closely represents it's aspect and also appears as a skeleton but i think that trope has been done to death pun intended, personally i prefer the female. Death represents the end of all things and it's relationship with Thanos isn't love per se, it doesn't really care about anything but it's own aspect and realm. Which is where Thanos comes in, cos he's the perfect tool; he's already one of the most powerful beings in the universe, he doesn't believe in life, wants to destroy everything, and is obssesed with Death, death as an entity and as a physical manifestion, cos he's mad of course. In other words, perfect. Remember Death abandoned him in the end when he stopped being useful, resurrected him when she needed him again, and opposed him at one point. Also remember Death displayed an affection for Deadpool, cos it served "her" purpose. Again it was with a character that is certifiably insane. So their "love" transcends the level we mere mortals can understand cheesy
In short i don't have a problem with it, if they want to go down that route fine. They have to give a legitimate reason why the most powerful being in the universe, according to Korath in Gotg, wants more power. I'm concerned about how they'll potray the cosmic entities. It's not going to be easy to represent Infinity, Oblivion, and Eternity on screen without looking weird

I believe that is the storyline we're getting @Sircumalot. Remember the post credits scene of The Avengers where Thanos was being briefed and his servant mentioned fighting them would be to "court death" and Thanos smiled. They're foreshadowing it but i think there'll be a twist
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by SIRcumalot: 7:09am On May 28, 2015
@moneyallowed
The cosmic entity thing is tricky that whole death story is riskier than GOTG but they can pull it off

The way I see it the major part of the first movie will be Thanos attacking civilizations live Xandor and asgard for their stones eventually he will come to earth to recover the stone with Vision and fight the avengers.

The Dr strange movie is the key to see how strange the MCU universe will get.

I watched that post credit scene and yeah it support the comic line but I think the twist would be that death is like a god Thanos worship and we won't be seeing it on screen.

I just discovered this thread. Kudos to the creator.

I'm a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I've watched all the films in it, including the one-shots ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_One-Shots ). I've also downloaded and watched the series Agents of SHIELD, and I will soon start Agent Carter.

I've also downloaded every single film and tv series, except Age of Ultron (as it's not in DVDs yet).

Steve Rogers (Captain America) is my favorite character in the series.

I don't see X-men returning soon tbh, it's too successful for Fox to let go. The best hope we have is Fantastic Four. Spidey back is the best news this year. Question is who should play him? And what villain should they use? I'm tired of seeing Osborn and Green Goblin
