I don't usually complain or criticize bt if I do it must b constructively, These r the lapses I noticed that cost us d game. 1- Not playing IDOWU or not playing 2 defensive midfielders against a team perceived to b tactically superior. 2- wrong changes,YAHAYA scored 1 goal and 1 created 1,playing with outrageous confidence shouldn't have been substituted, I.IFEANYI should have been substituted. IHEANACHO with one assist should have remained on the pitch, the right substitute should have been AWONIYI,he is not a player of the topmost level against Brazil or Germany. 3- The left back MUSTAPHER was overwhelmed by the magnitude of this match, thus exposing us by letting the Brazilians gaining more confidence with their skills against us. Manu should do something about this when playing a top opponents. If someone else can do better, let's try him. Even MUSA was outplayed. 4- AWONIYI's bad day,2 miss chances, not a player on the biggest occasion,I hope he proves me wrong in future. Anyways I downloaded the full match,if u guys need it should let me know 1 Like 1 Share |

wordychap:its not, the midfield and defense myt be average but the attack is world-class. It all depends on how manu garba arranges them and the tactics he uses. |

Ratings of the Flying Eagles players We take a look at the players and how they fared in a game they recovered from a goal down to take the lead but end up losing 2-4. Ratings: Joshua Enaholo: (GK): Largely at fault for the two second half goals scored by Brazil, while the third goal he conceded appears deflected, the fourth goal leaves him with no excuse....3/10 Musa Mohammed: Captain and leader of the team had a game to forget, poor in taking set pieces, gave away needless fouls and his natural instinct of going forward was largely curbed, even when he did, he was wasteful with the final ball....4/10 Mustapha Abdullahi: Known for his constant forays upfront but in this game that was his undoing, poor in marking, unassured going forward and by far had his worst game in a Nigeria shirt, a huge let down going by his potential....3/10 Wilfred Ndidi: Expected to bring stability to the problematic backline of the Nigeria team, the Genk defender put in a gritty shift but showed zero understanding with his pair in defense Zarahdeen Bello, commanding performance but could have done more....4/10 Zahradeen Bello: Alongside Ndidi in central defense the pair were culpable for the first two goals Nigeria conceded, Bello particularly left Mustapha Abdullahi over exposed, lost all of the one on one duels a below par showing from the man revered as team best defender at the AYC....2.5/10 Ifeanyi: Failed in his primary role which is shielding the defense line, poor in his passing and fouled his opponents when possession was there to be won, largely the sore point of this team very static and played far from the team other midfielders....3/10 Ifeanyi Matthew: A far cry from his usual domineering best in the middle, bar a pass to Taiwo Awoniyi in the second half he was appalling, always in a rush to thread passes which was easily cut out by the Brazilians and his movement of the ball was poor to say the least....3.5/10 Kelechi Iheanacho: Only had two moments of note in the entire 75 minutes he was on the pitch, a shot that came off the bar and laying on the assist for Musa Yahaya, other than that the Manchester City teen was poor, a liability defensively and rightly subbed off....3/10 Musa Yahaya: Nigeria brightest attacker on display, set up Isaac Success with a rabona piece of skill and finished off a swifting counter attack by scoring Nigeria second goal, missed a header to draw Nigeria level, surprisingly hooked for Stephen Saviour as Nigeria chased the game....5/10 Taiwo Awoniyi: By his standard he was a disappointment rounded up the goalkeeper in the first half but failed to hit the target wasted two other chances to score in a game, where he was the poorest among the attackers on display for Nigeria, still a surprise he lasted the entire duration of the game....3/10 Isaac Success: Best attacker on display for Nigeria scored a vital goal to draw Nigeria level and started the counter that resulted in Nigeria second goal of the game, need to be selfish at times as his desire to always set up his teammates saw him miss a chance he should have taken by himself, went missing in the second half largely due to lack of service....5.5/10 Substitutes: Saviour Godwin: Lively after coming on and created two goal scoring chances wasted by the forward men, direct running saw him win corner kicks for Nigeria and got fouled, on the strength of his showing should have being introduced earlier.....3/10 Kingsley Sokari: Came in when Nigeria needed to score and not one known for his goal scoring abilities, failed to justify his inclusion as he was off colour like the Kelechi Iheanacho he replaced....2/10. |

SambisaaForest:no that is not true. There are thousands of beninoise and togolese not forgetting Liberians, Senegalese, Malians, chadians, nigeriens, camerounians, Kenyans, Gambians , Lebanese etc living comfortably in naija, why do u say naija treat Ghanaians as shi. t? I know some Ghanaian men married to naija women with kids here in Abuja. A Ghanian man has lived in my village in bayelsa since the early 80s till date. He is even given a chieftancy title by our king. Bro if we treat u guys badly I don't think ur people will be comfortable here all these years. We love u guys. Not only the whites but also our African brothers. One love Africa. Peace 1 Like |

@kannymoore have to hand it to you bro you called it when you insisted how invaluable Isaac success would be to the attacking setup. didn't watch the game but from the comments here and on twitter I can piece together how the match went. first though I'm sad we lost I'm happy the boys have gotten a reality check at least all those annoying (to me at least) shouts by players, coaching crew and fans alike that we are favourites for the title will stop for now take each game as it comes. going forward I would advise the coaches not to make any rash decisions regarding enaholo remember he was instrumental to us winning the AYC a clear decision devoid of sentiments should be made regarding his starting place should be made if he's the best goalkeeper in the squad then he should continue and be encouraged if alampasu is better then him. I have to say I'm a bit surprised bello had a shocker he is usually reliable but that's football for you as for Mustapha he had better get serious and stop with the selfie ishh. I'm never comfortable with a two man midfield going forward infeanyi2x should be dropped sokari and idowu to start next game. with awoniyi he will learn from his mistakes boy is gifted just has to develop a killer instinct would have been more worried if he wasn't getting into scoring positions but let him learn from the bench for now success, yayaha (my boy) nacho to lead the line please bench be more pro-active kannymoore: 1 Like |

I think manu nid 2 sacrifice 1 point man 4 d other, he should either start with awoniyi and end with success or vice versa. he should introduce idowu or nwakali and sacrifice 1 infeanyi. play nacho 4rm d wing. I must confess yahaya was d best on our side against brazil, I can't believe his RABBONA through ball 2 set up Isaac 4 our first goal, DAT skill was a masterpiece 1 Like |

Ugbade fumes at WC defeat Flying Eagles assistant coach Nduka Ugbade has reacted angrily to the side disturbing defeat to five-time champions Brazil. The Eagles were pegged 2-4 by the South American giants in Monday’s group match at the ongoing Fifa Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand. Ugbade said his wards paid undue respect to the Brazilians in a match they had a clear chance to end on a high. “It was a very bad result, the 2-4 loss to Brazil. I never expected it’s going to be like that even though we understand that we are confronted with difficult opponents. It’s not a match we should lose the way it turned out. “We created several chances but could not maximise the opportunities and got punished. I believe a lot of things went wrong in the clash. “Discipline is key for any endeavour and we didn’t see more of it especially in the second half of the match. “The players appeared to have lost complete concentration in the half, a performance that suggested they’re afraid of their opponents. “Right now we are condemned to beat Korea and Hungary to amass six points that will see us progress to the next round of the championship,” said former Nigerian defender. Nigeria will play their second make or break match on Thursday against Korea Republic at the Stadium Taranaki, New Plymouth. |

Former Nigeria’s junior national team coach Alphonsus Dike has urged Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba to work on the team’s defense after the Nigerian U20 national team shipped in 4 goals against Brazil in their World Cup opener. Dike told www.footballlive.ng shortly after the game that the defense was flatfooted and were caught ball watching occasionally which he reckoned affected the team in the encounter. ‘ Thee boys tried their best except that they have to work their defense, that was the main problem. They were flat footed; the coverage was not there that accounted for the first goal,’ he said. ‘ The second goal also came from a defensive error, they were ball-watching instead of closing up on the opponent to make sure they don’t take possession of the ball.’ |

kannymoore: Rubber plastic fans everywhere.. Believe you me the boys will bounce back bigger and better. It is said that it's not the size of a dog in a fight but the size of the fight in the dog.. This is a pointer to the team that they not invincible. Psychologically, their mindset had been rewired for optimum performance. Naija will bounce back.. 3 Likes |

Brazil celebrate victory over Nigeria in their first Group E game in the FIFA U20 World Cup. Nigeria’s Flying Eagles were hit for 4 by Brazil in the first Group E match at the FIFA U20 World Cup. 1st choice goalie Joshua Enaholo’s 82nd minute howler effectively put the game beyond Manu Garba’s lads who had conceded as early as the 4th minute in a not to impressive 2nd-half display at the Stadium Karanaki in New Plymouth. Isaac Success and Kelechi Iheanacho started for the Flying Eagles along side Taiwo Awoniyi up front but the trio failed to turn up the goods as Manu Garba suffered his first defeat since 2013. Nigeria next face Korea DPR in the second Group E game in a bid to launch themselves back in contention for a place in the second round as Brazil wrap up valuable points in what might turn out an easy ride in the group. |
