there is a very active thread in the career section that addresses this.

From my own experience, its a man know man business now, that's why I created this forum.
Been in the system now I will like to share my experiences on how i got in.
1.First get to know any top shot in the drilling firm which to me I consider the easiest.
2. Go to any of the recruitment agencies, apply as a roustabout. If you are lucky they might pic when jobs come up. I must make you understand that this option is a bit difficult but works at times
3. Sponsor yourself to trainings with amounts ranging from 150k to 600k for the required certifications and then apply online.

Thank you for this post. For months now i have been trying to search the internet for ROUSTABOUT but i don't see adverts. Their adverts are QUITE RARE on the internet. It is more like they don't advertise these jobs.

I am a fresh graduate geologist with no experience and i am looking for a FREE/UNPAID intern position to gain hands on experience.

I'm a graduate of Mech. Eng , Hnd (automotive opt with a yeah experice). Highly interested in rig work. Which of the listed 1-11 best fit for me.... As well pls, torchlight how I can go about it.

The best position for you to start is to go as a roustabout then sail to motor-man/mechanic.

Roustabout are guys dat do manual labour jobs on a rig and the requirement is wassce or Neco. A DEGREE holder shouldn't be talking about roustabout job because you under utilizing ur potential? Instead aim for rig engineer or field technician

its easier to get in as a roustabout, then move to the rightful position for you,
it will be difficult to get tech or an engineer position from outside when there are people already inside aiming for it.

This is a great initiative. I've been looking for the platform like this to land on a rig job either onshore or offshore. I am a graduate of applied geology (2.2) with no relevant experience. I will appreciate further information on any certification required to land on any of the 1-11 listed position.
