Mind you, the fact that they have english/foreign names as first names doesn't mean they don't have traditional/ native names.
There are different factors that come to play when choosing a name for your child. One might decide to name his/her child after a particular person for reasons best known to him/her not minding if its a foreign or local name.
Others might decide to settle for a foreign name just for its simplicity and easiness to pronounce.
I have a native name that isn't funny at all, while I was in primary school I was teased a lot by other kids because of my name and trust kids nah they tortured the hell out of me then.
I talked to my mom about it then and when I got to secondary school I switched and started using english name and its been like that for my siblings.
