Just imagine how our money is being vanished yet bloodshed continues, would it be a sin if all this money is to upgrade the military, police and other security agencies?

Each time i wake up and see billions go through drains i feel like migrating to Europe where a penny spent is accountable.

This money goes to the pocket of each governors but they claimed there is no money to pay their civil servants. Why can't they use part of this to pay them.

Securing lifes and properties of people is not cheap.

Ofcourse those governors also use the chance to steal some money.

are you kidding me,
Cos last time I checked, state governors were not paying our police or army's salaries,
Neither are the buying them firearms,
So are you telling us that buying 20 hilux vehicles and handing it over to the state police command once a year sometimes once in four years cost our governors this billions am seeing there?

@Those that may not understand. The so-called "Security vote" is an opportunity for Governors to enrich themselves. The FG statutorily fund Police and the armed forces, most of these monies end up in the pocket of the Governor and his friends. They do NOT ACCOUNT for security vote money, and they don't joke with it.

In other words, it's a defacto FREE money
barca so whats the way forward..who would save us from these animals called our leaders..by default people like akpabio, ameachi etc walk away with more than a billion per month and we have lots of nigerians suffering..what we need in this country is not an election but a revolution where the masses just kill every leader...because as it is these security votes are meant to continue and we have the same crop of leaders within the system...

I appeal to the career "ARMED ROBBERS" in Nigeria.

Please stop robbing the poor masses like you without any security votes.

Kindly direct your aggressions to the pen robbers who are stealing our common wealth in the name of Security Votes instead of using same to provide jobs.

Thank you for your understanding and compliance.

Because Kwankwaso has never been an apostle of it.

Another thing is, my estacode was only N15,000 and no security vote. Security vote anywhere is stealing. I don’t believe in it, I never applied it during my first tenure (1999-2003), and I don’t think I’m going to apply same now, in that the provisions aid corruption in the art of governance, I will like to lead by example and the moment you steal once, your subordinate will double your record.- Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso

This man should have been the President of this country. Pa Buhari is too weak to put up a fight with the hawks that got him to power. Kwankwanso has done wonders in Kano, and to think he doesn't get this money is very very impressive.

So the saintly El Rufai is going to be chopping some 3digit millions every month as security votes....and he will not shout for it to be scrapped.

They are all the same.

The moment we youths that voted in 72 years president, who was a president when I was born in 1982, becomes wiser and realises that we are voting our own lives for our grand fathers.....that moment I will tell us what we need to do.

They use ethnicism, religion and party sentiments to wash our brains and then they share the oil money to even the Igbo governor whom they tell u to hate.

The Nigerian youth, This will never happen in Benin republic, Togo, Guinea, etc not to talk of Europe.

I tell you. The Nigerian youth is the worst in the world! Docile and cowardly!

If you call for protest, they will wait for their father to lead the march.

Na this mentality make some of the tribes hate Igbos for Biafran war. I still respect those Bifran soldiers' courage. They held up a nation for three years with just local dane guns and local explosives, without food and pure water.

Only courageous pple live, others just exist. If you doubt this check out the Niger-Delta militants.

If you stand up, you will be seen. No one can spot you sitting down, cos the whole crowd of 150million pple are mostly sitting down.

Wake up, The Nigerian Youth!

I have been telling ppl for so long that there is no miracle buhari or anyone can perform with the current system of politics in nigeria. The problem isn't gej, tinubu or amaechi , the problem is the system of politics and society that produces these leaders. The leaders produced are the direct expression of the system and people. They are simply products of the system . And we are the system , as long as a governor candidate keeps spending as much as 6 to 10 billion just to win an election ,this sort of looting will continue ,as long as ppl keep collecting rice ,recharge card, fufu and 5000 to vote for candidates, these sort of looting will continue. This has nothing to do with party lines, apc senator and reps do collect jumbo pay packages with their pdp counterparts and they have never said it is too much. Politics in nigeria is a big time multi billion naira industry, where the amount u invest in will 90% determine how big your profit will be. During the last apc primaries in lagos ,delegates were given 5000 dollars each and some even collected more like 8000 dollars to vote for various candidates ,where did the money come from ?definitely from sources like this, Same with pdp also. So the solution is for the educated ppl to join politics and mobilise the grassroot against such practices or to start a pressure group which will be demanding for transparency and accountability from elected leaders. This security vote issue is just a minute tip of the ice berg, what about local govt funds and derivation fund grin
