Eke! I know you encourage this but this is just too much, its obvious that this person must have applied for 7 difft courses that he most likely would not qualify for all .

See these things we are doing is affecting the image of this country, what if all of them accept and u didn't even show up dis year, probably because Buhari gives u an appointment or blocked account tries to ginger ur swagg.

Brothers, it simply shows that we do not do a lot of research on our course of study, city etc.

Na dis kind attitude they make most schools join UNi- assist.
See how dis guy use his applications they block every where, simply because u dey avoid uni -assist money. This is greed in a subtle way. hope u have blocked account money ?

Guys ! Let's be modest in our actions, act wisely.

Don't be selfish, let's think of other people behind. If we block the way, how will others get admission.

As for this nelly guy! Supposing all the schools gives him admission, what it means is that he has denied 6 Nigerians n opportunity simply because its cheap to apply to a non-unassit school, then using Nipost makes it a sweet dream.

We have made efforts to route out ways to help our fellow nigerians. Pls less all be modest.

If you do your research well, there is no need apply for millions of schools, you will just know schools that are likely to offer u admission. Let's stop making a mockery of the process.

My advice, do your research well, know what u want to study (u can't study every thing), select 3 or 4 schools nd in a worst case scenario 5. Do your app well. That's all.

And when you make your final choice, please write back to the other schools nicely, telling them you that you appreciate their offer but you won't be joining them this time. Pls do this.

Just imagine after your application they didn't contact you to tell u if u where accepted or not! How will u feel ?

Even sometimes, if they don't notify us that they have received our apps, I notice a lot of people come here to lament.

The reason is ; so that they can give ur space to someone else who is on the waiting list. And that will put Nigerians in good light. Its wise to notify a person you have contract with that you are no longer interested , than keeping the person hanging.

Trust me, if we continue this way, every app from naija will be treated with dignity.

Thanks everybody.

BETHIANO,
Altho u raised some good points,
I WOULD STILL SAY THAT ONE SHOULD APPLY TO AS MANY SCHOOLS AS POSSIBLE (especially when you dont have a high cgpa).
PS: I KNOW SOMEONE WHO MADE 1ST CLASS THAT WAS REJECTED IN 2 OUT OF 3 SCHOOLS. SO PLEASE CHOOSE WISELY.

Another question for nelly guy!

If na uni-assit would u have applied to 8 schools ?

Now use d same wisdom, to apply for non Uni-assit schools. Don't just flood your documents every where.

I applied to 3 schools,

The first one talk say my app deliver late, they even begged me to allow my app to be considered for next year. I reapplied them accordingly. Well no be their fault sha, na that elections period cause am. Infact na my fault because I suppose calculate well. The blame is mine, I could have sent it months ago.

The remaining two offered me admission.

Now,na only one I go...go , I can't be in two places at same time. I dey prepare my reply to the other school now,say make them no vex .

For all of you wey apply to 10 non- un-assit schools, abeg make sure you write them when u make your final choice, abeg no litter them.
But, if u applied through uni-assit I have no issues with u cos na ur money, u paid for the service . So u are free to apply to 500 na ur money dey talk.

But its honourable to reply the ones that rejected you, trust me they will be bitter, the quality of candidate they just lost.

University Education is being worthy in character and learning.
Cos as the Vice chancellor of the University of Nigeria (2030)
I know I will accept some students based on their distinctive character.

Little things matter ! "Sorry" would have averted the Biafran war. Lol !

Then we wey dey enjoy the alawi we german schools dey share, abeg make we respect ourselves.

Let's show the whiteman that an average black man is sensible, we re no fools, and ungrateful entities.

That we are black and proud. That our culture respects procedures and we do things right.

The question is y was a first class rejected by two institutions ? Thank God one accepted him.

But, I don't believe in half stories, ask him to tell you d reasons. Oyibo must tell you reason !
If u observe he must have ignored one or two important requirements, thinking his first class will blindfold oyibo ?

You don't do things that way?

Your first class don't move them, disobey one instruction and they will wash you. I sure say u never jam winchy admission coordinator we be woman, wey dey vex, wey also get some atom of racial bias.hmmmmmm! ...lol!

The bolded should have been the main plot of this epistle, not that people should reduce the amount of schools they apply to. How certain are you that he did not fully qualify for courses in all those schools? You make it seem like sending applications outside uni-assist is free. Well it's not. And except NIPOST is used (with their unreliability), using uni-assist is actually cheaper for multiple applications. While you were fortunate to have been admitted to both schools you applied to, others are not so fortunate. Personally, I qualify for over 15 programs in different institutions (I didn't apply to all oh) and have already been rejected twice; one due to NC, and the other for no reason I can understand.

My point is, while it is good to apply to as many schools as possible, resources permitting, it is very wise to let schools know of your intention to enroll or not.

Cc: @ william , tanks for the highlight of the main point.

Hello guys,

Anytime u make applications please be realistic. This is the problem with Nigerians and Jamb .

Half of the population apply for medicine ! Y ? Ignorance and unrealistic dreams.
I was a victim too, I did apply for medicine. But now I know better.

When u know you don't have what it takes, why not respect your old age .

For me, just like Nevile bode, I have a jotter I call "german Move".
Every info about German movement is there. I get a lot from this thread tooo. I put dem down with dates.

This helped me to make inform app, if u study this thread from the first page way back 2006. You will observe that people are becoming lazy and clueless this days.
And this down thread of things, affects not just them but a lot of things they can't see or imagine.

I am seeing these things and Noting them.

That's the decline going on.

In my next post I will tell u y german schools are now asking us for english test this days. Its our failure to handle things right. If you are observant that was not the case before things are changing.
University of Duisburg-Essen introduced english test this year, it was not so last year.
I no some persons will say why are we shying away from the english test (@ neville) . But bro, when a yoruba guy come dey teach me igbo, e get as e be! English is our first language! Besides, nigeria dash those English test firms millions of dollars every year, we can't keep telling oyibos that every thing here is rubbish, now that they accept our four year study in English, let's hold it there. If we don't stop dis, Germans will begin to query our degree certificate and ask our successors for GRE. Big thanks to our big brothers in Germany, they are doing us proud, germans value our apps because our guys dey do well in german varsities, graduating tops in their class. Let me stop here, after I will trash this.

Somebody was saying something here about grading system change, yes... Its happening! People that will feel the impact is next year applicants. If you doubt come back here next year and see for your sef.

I am only trying to protect our pride and future generations from disrespect.
We speak better English than these germans, when u get to germany u will see you are better than some of your teachers. You go even they fear to use big words, because they may not understand.

Sorry guys I am going too deep. I am a development expert, I study trends.

We must defend this nation, we must protect our race. And every thing we hold strong.

Brother, since I have made these things clear to you privately, I don't need to give a lengthy response but for the benefit of others who will read this, hearken and end up in a bottomless abyss of heartbreaking disappointment.

You must understand that multiple application is an acceptable norm any where in the world. Have you never heard of American students bragging about how ALL the ivy leagues they applied to gave them admission? why would the embassy certify ALL the application documents you bring for free? why would uni assist accept an uncountable number of application as long as you pay? Why would even a single school even as great as TUM give you space for application(s) 1-as many as are available? Do you think they are not wise?

It is good to evaluate yourself and course to make sure you meet their minimum requirements but even the school will tell you that for restricted admission (which applies to almost all the English taught courses) admission is not automatic even WHEN YOU MEET THEIR MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS. What does that mean when you reflect thoroughly?
Bottom line, Multiple admission is acceptable universally, wise and normal. You may not have applied to a course where there are 1020 applicants for 30 spots, but many are in such position. Even jamb gave you chance for 1st and 2nd choice.
Tschüs!!

I thought i have posted the link before though. Let me calculate it manually this time.
Step 1: (Max grade obtainable- Grade obtained) ÷ (Max grade obtainable - Minimum grade required to pass)
(5-3.71)÷ (5-1); 1.29/4= 0.3225
STEP 2: Multiply result of step 1 answer by 3; 0.3225* 3= 0.9675
STEP 3: Add 1 to step2 result; 1+ 0.9675 = 1.967
Step 4: Just take the first figure after the decimal regardless of how small or large the number that follows is; 1.967~~1.9
Final answer 1.9
Use this tool to crosscheck. Note that It only gives a ROUGH estimate.
