€31M not pounds..... that's around £23M. That's a steal for a bright prospect like DEPAYS. It is more expensive to sign a young player with a very bright future than an established player with 2-4 years of topclass football to offer.

Everton paid £20M+ for Lukaku
Wolfsburg paid over £20M for Schurlle after a not so good spell at Chelsea

....bottomline €31M is a steal for Depays. It might take sometime but he is gonna light up the EPL.

And what about the unnecessary distraction the whole issue has caused? (and may still cause)??

We are rebuilding the squad - if there's any inkling that a player doesn't want to be with us, he should be shown the exit door.

I like your analysis. I think you do have a point. We can't let a player,no matter how highly rated,to hold us down as a club. We've got other pressing transfer business to meet up with and we don't have the luxury of time. We have got to act fast.
