You know it's crazy, when you are not treating the pawns well, they end up turning their back against you... These country was destroyed by the generals only buhari stood out way back and now he is back as a civilian and the living generals of way back are still much very alive as super rich Nigerians... Danjuma, obasanjo, David mark, babangida, abdulsallam etc...

I just pray our president can handle them with wisdom... And some fools would be shouting Tinubu this, tinubu dat, Sarako this Sarako that, Amaechi blah blah were as Nigeria don rot since...

The ADC is an officer, they are the ones who oppress n suppress the other ranks. He may not do anything about it.

This guy is just what an army officer should be.I knew that these army top ranking officers are pure business men while they sacrifice the life of these innocent junior officers for selfish reasons.

You can imagine where Jonathan's government of PDP used an army officer to be displaying the School result of General Buharu saying that he had F9 in mathematics. A retired general who is as old as his father because he was playing the script written by PDP.

This is too bad. Top army officers are pure businessmen as they are using Boko Haram in making money just like Ihejrika.

He may be saying these because he was denied the chance to represent his constituency in Katsina state house of assembly.

His action and those of the army are embarrassing to the country.

Life in the military is Hell on Earth!! especially when you belong to the lower rank. There are people in Abuja here who have spent 18-23 years in service but are still lance corporals.

Don't say that-the army is rotten and needed serious surgery in order to re-position the system to what it is supposed to be.

What are you saying? When did the Army display Buhari's "result"?

I fear for this soldier as he signed away his rights to air his views 1ce he joined the army. Asides this I believe he went a tad far in his expositions in areas of training and expertise;its like exposing d soft underbelly of the Nigerian military to external enemies

NDA termer 1 allowee is not upto that amount even the termer 5 receive less than the amount he called, the only arm of service that receive upto to that is Navy and that's because in termer 5 they are already midshipmen
indirectly, they receive up to that. Remember they save part of the money for them till they pass out from academy. Everything this sldr said here is 100 percent correct. But honestly, it is not the ethics of NA personnel to give public info except he NA public Relation

Buhari should have sacked all d service chiefs after his inauguration.

Up till this moment they are still in charge and these same people conspired with Pdp govt under GEJ to say Buhari does not have certificate.

This same Buhari is having security meeting with this security chiefs and side lining his VP (Osibanjo) so sad if you ask me.

I cannot see what is wrong with the operations of the army is his report apart from the instances of corruption. He cannot be discharged because the armed forces is undermanned, fighting an insurgency and policing the state at the same time. What is wrong with that. When it comes to standards I repeat again, it was a collective national decision both financial and strategic to de-invest from the armed forces. It was a delibrate policy of the Obasanjo administration. Some units were closed, others were merged, training and logistics was scaled back. In effect the armed forces was hung out to rot simply because of their involvement in politics over the decades. No one wanted to see a strong army just ten years ago so what is our complaint today. Not everyone suffers from amnesia. Some of us remember that period quite well and as they say it is far easier to destroy than to build. Far easier to demobilize an army than to retrain, equip and prepare them for combat duties.

And about the call for the retirement of top officers. How many times are we going down this road of error. Obasanjo retired his, Jonathan retired his, Buhari should retire all. Has it occured to the Corporal that the Generals today were Colonels just a few years ago. What was the result of all the retirements over the years? an armed forces gutted of the necessary experience and manpower to prosecute operations. If you claim you have no money what are you doing creating more pensioners and spending even more on training of the rank to fill the gap. Will the enemy wait for you to do all these. Look at what America did to the Iraqi army. They overthrew Sadaam (good), gutted his army like we did ours (bad), and now accuse the same unprofessional, factionalised, politicised army they created of running from ISIL forces. Same thing in Libya. Is this not stupid.

As for corruption, the corporal has just proven to be as naive as the average Nigerian that believes the pursuit of individuals to be the answer. His boss in the Mobil deployment was not in any theatre of war, was not responsible for procurement, logistics and training of soldiers yet he was corrupt. What has that got to do with the army. Even a sub-lieutenant in that post will 'chop' that money and they are doing so all over the armed forces in all kinds of postings. The problem is not the people, it js the structure. Why is Mobil paying cash to soldiers. He talked about Yakubu Gowon being a colonel-in-charge. We all know how that ended. Gowon became equally as corrupt as others. What makes him think the colonels are not corrupt and 'chopping' Mobil, Shell, LNG money as we speak.

Corruption is a structural problem, professionalism will remain locked in battle with the opposing forces of federal character, political intrigues and personality cults till Nigerians make the necessary sacrifices of tribe, religion and politics for the greater good of institution and national building. The armed forces is ony a reflection of the society we live in. He wants to go to the Legislature. Are they any better.

We are in dire need of honourable men in this country. Honourable men in words and deeds. Men that will put duty and state first before self.

Yeah I have found the word! We need selfless men. Selflessness is the dead virtue that must be resurrected.

There are pastors with just one church and a congregation of thirty after 20 years of ministry, there are blogs and forums with next to no traffic after a decade on the web. No doubt the Army needs to be restructured.

However, there is nothing special in this account (note i am not saying things are as they should be). You can speak to any police constable on his experiences and see if they are any different?

Speak to a nurse in any general hospital outside the state capitals and see if the story is different.

The Country's public management systems are rotten. Every sector operated by Government is exactly like this, so it would be naive to imagine that our military would be different. The only sad thing is that the Military involve life and death, so the effect of the rot here is more dramatic. However, we must be truthful and admit that it is not unexpected.

The solution is simple but difficult ----- Public service reforms!!!
Unfortunately, this would be a 10 year game at the minimum, involving extensive re-professionalism, change of terms of service, rewrd and punishment etc.

How is he unreasonable?

How can you call someone that describes military life as hell on earth unreasonable with all that the officer said is going on within the NA?

If all the rot as complained was not the case but the officer complaint was just that of promotion, you will have been justified.

He is perfectly reasonable.
