Gripen + Recon pods + Targeting pods = ISTAR that can operate in a contested air-space

Gripen is NOT anything ISTAR, it`s Recce pod NOT an ISTAR pod .....and NO on-board intelligence center-command and control integrated multiple computer systems console existing on a Gripen, all you have is pilot`s cockpit for flying.....Gripen is ZERO ISTAR, the RAF did most of the ISTAR job in Libya with USAF E-2 Hawkeye doing AWACS and NATO jets providing air cover against the half dead Libyan air force that refused to fly, and NATO air to surface missiles doing SEAD on the half dead Libyan defences.

Gripen jet does recce with pod, same way F-7 jet of Bangladesh does recce with pod, and the pod on the Gripen is same as the one for old school Jaguar jets flown by India.

Gripen jet recce.... how many hours endurance? what altitude above enemy air defences? what radar range? how many targets can be tracked at once? which airborne multiple computer console will process thousands of situational data for command-control ?

Gripen jet = F-7 jet = Jaguar jet = Gripen jet = ZERO ISTAR shocked shocked

Gripen with Recce pod complies with the definition of ISTAR

The "intelligence center-command and control integrated multiple computer systems console" will be on the ground - with info being streamed to it from the Gripen

Helicopters can gather intelligence.

The Gripen can gather surveillance.

The Cessna can gather intelligence.

SAAF helicopters have NO recce radar to gather intelligence.

Gripen with recce pod = F-7 jet with recce pod.

Cessna is a toy plane with ZERO radar.

One single NAF Beechcraft ISTAR aircraft outclasses and out-performs ALL the South African air force recce and surveillance aircraft combined.

SAAF = ZERO ISTAR in 21st century grin grin

oh.. sorry... i forgot you are a dunce who can't understand simple things.

BBC reporter tobi oladipo and some other Nigerian journalists were taken onboard the ATR when the military was prepping to retake a town frim boko haram.

according to the channels reporter onboardd.." the ATR was relaying cordinates of enemy positions to troops on ground for artillery fire.
that's one.

secondly... Nigeriam military commanders get realtime video coverage at DHQ from one of our ISTAR platforms during the heated battles to reclaim territories.

i have given two instances of Nigeria's operational data link usage.

now be a good boy and give us south african one. not frim news articles.

ode oshi

South Africans know data-link only on paper, they have no idea about it`s operation in real combat.....Nigeria will educate them

What does a reporter know about a military stuffs? Of course, the data stations related the information through radios and rather the ground forces did not see the enemy position on the monitors themselves.

In SANDF our ground forces see the enemy themselves in real time on their own monitors. Our ground forces uses cytoons which your poverty stricken forces have none.

Your ATR 42 is just a one eyed slowpoke who is selfish to share information with others. That expense could have procured something better for you that is mostly basic like submarines.
