You don't get it, general hospital and Iyienu hospital are different hospitals in Ogidi, that of Ihiala is quite different. I believe you know that Ogidi and Ihiala are different locations entirely.

yes! off course.Iyienu belong to Anglicans & General Hospital is govt owned!. It should be noted that Iyienu Hospital was in a 'Very Sorry' State until Peter Obi Invested more than half a billion Naira there! Neglecting govt owned!

Anambra State indigenes recently poured encomiums on the state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, as he commissioned a 10km road. The road stretched from Igbariam Junction to Igbariam roundabout.

The commissioning ceremony started with an opening prayer, which was said by Sir. Anselem Okafor, Senior Special Assistant on Religious Affairs to the Governor.

In his opening remarks, the SA on IGR to the Governor, Uchenna Okafor asserted that the commissioning of the 10km road was symbolic to the people of Igbariam, Awkuzu and other neigbhouring communities because the road is one of the major roads that linked them together.

He said that what surprised everybody was how Obiano was judiciously managing the lean fund within his disposal towards the delivery of democracy dividends to Ndi Anambra, considering the drastic fall of oil price in the international market, which affected Nigeria’s economy. He pointed out that out of the 36 states of the federation, 29 states are owing workers but that Obiano’s administration was paying workers their salaries when due.

Likening Obiano to George W. Bush of America, Okafor commended the governor for the eradication of insecurity in Anambra State and attributed the victory of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, House of Assembly candidates in the last general election to Obiano’s good work in the state. He further said that the road being commissioned was very important to the people of Igbariam, Awkuzu and other neigbhouring communities because it leads to Odumegwu-Ojukwu University, Anambra State-owned tertiary institution.

Also speaking on the occasion, Anambra State Commissioner of Works, Hon. Law Chinwuba (Chidera Aguleri), asserted that construction works on the road was first awarded in 2006 to CCC Construction Company Ltd. However, the former governor, Mr. Peter Obi (Obiano’s predecessor), re-awarded the road to the same company after some years. He said that, in the spirit of continuity, the Obiano administration completed the remaining 4.5km of the 10km road project.

The commissioner recalled that Obiano had promised promised Ndi Anambra during his campaign that his administration would continue and complete all ongoing projects in the state, commission them and commence new projects, hence Obiano’s resolve to ensure that there would be no abandoned project under his administration.

He also said that what Obiano was doing in Anambra State is rare in Nigeria because most Nigerian leaders are known for abandoning projects started by their predecessors and it is not good because governance is supposed to be a continuum because continuity entrenches sustainable development.

He also lauded Obiano for launching operation zero tolerance of pot-holes in Anambra State roads, saying that the policy have beautified Anambra roads.

Speaking during the commissioning event, Obiano promised that his administration would continue with the implementation of his Four Cs agenda, stating that the Igbariam 10km road project was started by his predecessor and that his administration ensured its completion. He urged the people of Igbariam and Awkuzu to maintain the road as their own, attributing the earlier failure of the road to the condemnable acts of dumping refuse on drainage channels.

The governor admonished the people of the community to desist from burning tyres and dumping refuse on the road, so that it would last longer because the road project gulped a lot of money.

Inasmuch as i love Peter Obi, he did abandon government hospitals for mission hospitals and that's my grouse with him, more catholic than the Pope

That road is not a finished product. The most important thing that should never be joked with in road construction across the State is a functional drainage system serving the roads and the anticipated housing density around the area. Such drainage plans should be part of the consultancy for each road.
Anything short of that is a poor quality road
