I will advice you wait for your letter, doing the other way is a desperate move and that's a red flag to the embassy. Next week is around the corner.
thanks adenjr. Appreciated

The waiting period wasn’t easy at all. Even though I did well in the interview, 1000 reasons why my visa would/won’t be approved kept coming to me. The 1st 2weeks were the most tensed week of the waiting period and after waiting for 6weeks with no response, I became unsettled, I mailed the embassy on a Monday stating when I had my interview and I got the usual mail on Wednesday stating “they are yet to get consent from the Alien Office in Berlin” without wasting time, I forwarded the mail to my school adding they should help contact the Alien Office in Berlin when I didn’t get a reply from my school on Thursday, I decided to search for the Alien office contact on Google and I mailed them. Low and behold, on Friday I got a reply from the Alien Office through the embassy that my visa is ready for collection, I should come with three months travel insurance but there was a clause that I shouldn’t come before 1st of march as my resumption is still far (1st week in April and we are still in January), I was not worried about the clause as the fear of been rejected is no longer there, I just have to wait till March 1st.

The rest is story, I am typing from the comfort of my room in Berlin. Big up to @topeajis who took me-in in my 1st few days in Berlin

I wrote this piece to encourage the winter 2015 prospects and beyond. My advice will be:

1. If you try and fail, don’t dwell on it, put yourself together and try again.

2. Don’t just apply to school(s)/course(s), look for school(s)/course(s) that match your qualifications if you do this, you won’t have to apply to 10 schools before you gain admission.

3. Make sure you start preparation on time and apply ahead of application deadline. This will help you save cost by posting through NIPOST Registered mail i.e. if you post 1-2months before deadline your application will always get there before deadline and in cases of missing documents, you will be able to sort it out before deadline.

4. In most cases where required, Motivation letter is a powerful tool, make sure it is meaningful and convincing (it add as much as 30% to your admission chances). In cases where your grade is low to that of others applying to the same course, your letter might be your saving grace.

5. The thread will teach you a lot of things but there are a lot of things your personal research will teach you that the thread won’t. You can’t come and be asking lists of schools in Germany, lists of schools that teach in English, which school did you apply to? I also want to apply there. Etc like seriously?

6. Reading Pages back on the thread will help you answer 90% of all the questions you might want to ask. It is not punishment or wickedness, I did and it paid off (I know many may not agree to this but when you get here and you have to read 250pages for just one presentation with 5-6 presentations in a semester). Whenever I say stuffs about Germany, my uncle marvel how I get to know those things more than him that has been living in Germany for more than a decade.

7. Most of our fears do not even exist when it comes to the embassy/visa processing

8. Sponsorship works as much as blocked account. Your sponsor just have to be a Good Resident/Citizen i.e have a good work, pay tax, no criminal records and have a good credit.

9. Book your appointment with the embassy on time so as to beat your enrolment deadline.

10. Prepare well for your interview; know about your school, course, Germany, city and state you are going to. Have a prepared likely interview questions and answers for yourself which you will read once or twice a day, allow a trusted friend or family conduct a pre-interview for you before your interview date proper. Do not Cram because you might end up forgetting.

11. Try to but you don’t have to answer all questions 100% perfectly e.g. list of courses you will be doing but there are some salient questions you need to answer perfectly e.g. tell me about your course in general. In all be confident, consistent, and sound convincing in your response even if you are lying (which I won’t advice you to do anyway).

12. Facts and figures will make you sound more convincing. The VO will always ask you to slow down when mentioning facts and figures so that she won’t miss any important thing when she’s typing.

13. If you are using a Sponsorship letter, do not show “too much” connection to your sponsor especially if your sponsor “chop aduro” to collect his/her residency/citizenship because you might give the German government reason to think you will follow suit. The only connection should be he/she will be sponsoring you, why he/she is sponsoring you, your relationship with him/her except in a case where you will be living with him/her then you have to know practically everything about him/her. During my interview, I never made the mistake of saying I will 1st be arriving at my sponsor’s place or I will be visiting regularly, the only place I showed strong connection to is my school in Germany and my beloved country Nigeria. You can also say you want to stay back in Germany, all that matters is the follow up story i.e why you want to stay back, what you will be doing staying back etc.

14. If after 4weeks of your interview you are yet to get a response from the embassy and your enrolment deadline is near and after 6weeks if your enrolment deadline is still far, it’s better you send the embassy an email requesting your application status (you have the right to be concerned just don't sound desperate).

15. If you are going to ask the VO a question after the interview, ask a question related to the interview question/visa processing. Please don’t ask a silly question and its not a must to ask question(s) after the interview.

16. In all be PRAYERFUL.

Disclaimer - This piece is an advice/my opinion based on my experience and that of others close to me (it is not absolute), you don’t have to agree with me, make use of the ones useful to you and discard the rest.

All the best

it is not possible. They will remind you just after your interview via email that you should fund your account in order for them to continue with your application. So not funding may mean dumping your application. Besides y do you entertain fear and skepticism. Be prayerful and positive. I don't see any reason why u shouldn't get the visa by God's grace of cos

No it is not possible. After your interview the VO will remind you to fund the account.
And before you get your visa (if it eventually is approved) they will send you email reminders to fund your account.

From the experiences of others that has been shared on this forum, you go home with your passport.

You will only go back to the consulate when you have been notified to come for the approved Visa.
