Hi Goldtooth,

I reside in Montreal and I have friends in Concordia. All their courses except for Language majors are conducted in English. It is possible to get permanent residency after school if you meet the immigration requirements. Quebec has a different process which includes a French competency test but once you are in Canada, you can apply for permanent residency in any province. You are not bound to remain in Quebec. Your application to the federal skilled workers scheme would be assessed based on the immigration rules in operation at that time.
In summary, don't let the worry about permanent residency deter you from applying to Quebec if that is where the course you are interested in is. There are a lot of English speaking people (Nigerians inclusive) who have settled in Quebec. As for getting a job, yes it is possible to get a job, though customer service jobs might be a bit more challenging as it would be preferable to have someone who is bilingual for such positions. Nonetheless, I know Nigerians with little or no French who studied (and are studying there) and have jobs.

Hello gurus in the house i am new to this thread i have read a few of previous pages. My question is this: i searched the link above for sch for a certificate diploma. I got two results one of them was three years which is too long for me while the other was one year in the university of concordia, montreal in quebec. This is in french speaking part of canada but read that the university teaches its courses in english including mine. I will like to know if there is anyone who attends this school and stays in montreal. I will like to get a permanent residence permit after sch. I want to know how easy it is to obtain in this part of canada and also if i could easily get a job during and after sch in this part of canada. I will appreciate your opinion and response thanks

Undergrad or postgraduate?

Undergrad tuition is contigent on a number of factors but If you are going for postgrad, with the right profile, you may not even have to pay a dime.

Let us know your profile and your choice location of study and you will get the best advice.

Please advice on this details.
If it's a postgraduate study, Computer Science (MSc), preferred location is British Columbia, Manitoba or your advise will be welcomed on a better location.

Please which institution/location is advisable to enroll in terms of affordability/low cost of living?

It is late but NOT TOO late. Many of those submitting right now are for Sept. admission.
You need to be fast about it. Latest by weekend if your are going via online route. You may also try to do upfront medicals. This will hasten the process

thanks for the reply @all. e be like say if person no cry una no go reply cheesy i want to submit my app on monday. but im confused abt d starting date i should fill in d permit form. d sch i applied to gave me to starting dates 06 sept 2015 and 09 jan 2016, is it late to submit for fall sept2015?. cos i hv all d necessary docs with me. is it compulsory to submit waec result?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by soji0509: 4:49pm On Jun 18, 2015
You need to read back. Some body was delayed just less than 5 days ago for a 1 year program with the SOA you just asked about. That is why many are not replying you as they think you should have gotten the inference. Is the said amount in your own account ? Add $10K CAD to your tuition and Convert to Nira and see what remains !
Find additional sponsor or a co-sponsor in order to play safe . If its difficult to get additional co-sponsor, then you may consider the 2nd preparing for the 2nd date in your admission letter. Things are getting harder with TRV application. Many with less got it in the past. But remember, Nira is now greatly devalued !
What is the duration of your program ?
waleakins:
Pls my bros n sis,i want to ask, if the school that gave me admission estimated $17500 as first year expenses, and im presenting 5m in soa to d vo, is d money sufficient

NO that is not true. Read back. Stop speculating discouragingly with "they said". Yes The CIC says 4-6mnts since long time ago even as early as 2006 when there was no online route. Things just got improved. Many (if not all) online Applications are forwarded to Accra, Ghana.
This makes processing time faster thaN stated on CIC. Hurry up, gather all doc and ask for support of those who recently won their TRV.
The joy of their success will make them lend you a helping hand that you so badly need. Use PM (private mail) facility of Niraland for quick response.
Bear in mind however that you are asking for a favour. Everybody has more that enought at hand and no one is being paid to be here. So Cast your net very wide and be very polite. I assure you guys are very kind here. Trust me, you are in the right place if you act well your part very well. Best wishes
waleakins:

@darefestus
you know the letter of admission is only valid for one semester, but they said because of ebola outbreak in africa, study permit processing will take longer than usual. 4-6mnts. so the letter of admission will be valid till jan2016, so as to gv embassy enough time.

montrealer, can some1 with a year program qualify to apply for PR? Generally, wat qualifies one to be a PR? I've read elsewhere that it better to do 2yrs program if one wishes to get a PR after study. Gurus with ideas should pls enlighten on this. Thanks
