To me, Engagement ring is like a tag or scarecrow to ward off pests but some vultures can be so rude and stubborn that they'll like to get a taste of the cookie especially if the newly engaged is a cheat. Once a cheat, always a cheat.

I do not believe in engagement and I don't think it's necessary. After my husband proposed to me we got married less than 3 months and it was need to have an engagement of any length if we were serious about the marriage.

Engagement doesn't stop someone from cheating and it certainly won't make you a wife. I think people don't date like our forefathers did in the past. It was simply scoping out the girl that was of choice and asking parents for permission before a relationship was formed and sex wasn't even a subject until after marriage.

Dating should be about meeting different people and not putting your eggs in one basket. Too many people get engaged and don't know a chapter about the person they are about to married.

An engagement ring is a waste of money but I am practical. I am not into showmance because it won't strengthen my marriage or relationship with my husband. A ring doesn't mean a happy and fruitful marriage. I have seen people spend thousands of dollars on a ring and their marriage ain't worth 2 USD.

You can be exclusive without being engaged and focus on counseling and making sure you guys are compatible gor marriage and understand how to work together in tough situations because marriage isn't easy. Engagement doesn't improve trust and security with each others. It won't intensify your love and desire for your mate.

You don't need a ceremony to announced your plans for marriage. You can simply spread the word and send invitation to the wedding. People will know when they are invited to your wedding.

Whoever thought of engagement was bored.
