Edgar Davids

Excerpt:
Four minutes after referee Saccani blew the opening whistle he was sending both Davids and Contra for an early shower.
Trouble began when Milan’s future enforcer Gennaro Gattuso was brutally fouled by Davids with what was by all accounts a brutal, ruthless tackle. With Gattuso holding the ball, Davids flew at him like a missile. Unleashing a devastating two-footed tackle which almost broke the Calabrian midfielder in two. This was not going to fly with Contra, himself no stranger to a brash, reckless challenge. He immediately sought retribution, charging and kicking the Dutchman in the back and proceeding to walk away. Anyone who knows anything about Davids knows you don’t kick him when he’s down and get away with it. The Suriname-born midfielder is well known for flying off the handle and Davids got up and threw himself at Contra trying to strangle the Romanian, while the fans in Trieste whistled their collective disproval of the scene before them. It took many members of both teams to separate these two powerhouses. Saccani had no choice but to show both men a red card and send them packing. If only this was the end of the story.
However, as the two men entered the tunnel the fisticuffs continued. According to witnesses inside the tunnel it was Davids who waited around a corner to ambush an unsuspecting Contra. He unleashed a hailstorm of punches and kicks on the Romanian. Security guards tried to separate the two but to no avail, Davids was on a rampage. Ciro Ferrara and Lilian Thuram were alerted by the scuffle and got involved. Milan back-up keepers Christian Abbiati and Valerio Fiori came to the aid of Contra. According to witnesses Ferrara kicked at Contra causing Abbiati to growl, “Ciro, I never expected this from you!” Finally the two were pried apart and went their separate ways. In case it mattered, Milan went on to win the match thanks to an Andriy Shevchenko goal in the 17th minute most.

It was not the first time Davids found himself at the center of controversy and certainly wouldn’t be the last. Under investigation just a few months earlier for using performance enhancing drugs, the Dutchman had been sent off nine times in his career in Italy racking up 69 yellow cards in the process.

This was not the end of the Davids-Contra affair as years later, when Tottenham Hotspur were contemplating a move for Davids in 2005, Contra (then a member of Getafe, a side he would go on to manage) spoke out against the Dutchman to The News of the World branding him a “psychopath” and a “violent man”.

El Hadji Diouf... Always spitting on anything that annoys him.

But you can't deny his immense talent. Anyone, especially Africans, who watched the 2002 world cup (France Vs.Senegal) will forever adore Diouf. I'll never forget that game, and what Diouf did - legend right there.

I think it's the same with a lot of supremely talented footballers. The likes of: Tevez, Balotteli, Totti, Viera, Cantona, Di Canio, Riquelme, Gazza, Ibrahimovic et al are some of the gifted footballers we've ever seen and, I think it has to do with the passion for the game.

one common feature among these aggressive players was their incredible talent and football skills . They were virtually the very best in the game at their time
I'm telling you.

BIBLESPEAKS:
This is my opinion(probably some of you football fans have observed it too): I consider sergio Ramos the most aggressive player.

There is hardly a match Ramos dsnt confront opposition players after a foul against his team. He usually runs to the scene furiously sometimes being the first to hit or rain insults on opposition player. My God, he's always at the centre of a fight.

This was funny: I watched a match(champions league), isco was brought down by the opposition. Ramos ran a record breaking time, got to the scene first. The referee left all the players and held firmly on Ramos, like he was the only problem on the pitch.
sergio ramos na fine boy oo, infact he is very very normal and decent footballer in contrast to cantona , sebi ramos go just charge at u , cantona go remove one of his boots and start chasing the player about ,until u give am red card he no go stop,grin

I agree with your list intoto..... Alan Smith was one hell of an aggressive player esp during his Leeds Utd days.
Best list so far thats if you add Cantona to it.

All the lists posted earlier v been declared null!
An aggressive player is a player that gets involved with one negative thing or the other consecutively.
Such a player behaves like a goat!
Yes, like a goat that bleats...Meeeh, meeeeh, meeeeeeh!

Here's the original list:
* Cantona
* Gattuso
* Pepe
* Sergio Ramos
* Diego Costa
* Joey Barton...
All these players behave like possessed goats or beasts on field...
Honorable mentions: Nigel de Jong, Roy Keane, Wayne Rooney, Dani Alves, Michael Ballack, Arda Turan to mention a few.

I hope Balo gets his shiit together. He's too talented to be where he's right now.

Hopefully, he'll get a career transformation like Viera's, and start banging in goals again.

Zidane and requelme are the most finest of footballers. Zidane can never be termed an aggressive footballer by any standard. Marco Materrazi was a one off incident.

Minus his characters, though sometimes with them, that Balotteli still remains one of the strikers I love the most.

After Neymar's 4-match ban in the copa-america (dem 4 leave those guys make dem beat foolishness comot 4 him head angry) I decided to compile this list. Feel free to add yours grin

1. Gennaro Gattuso (The General)
This guy needs no introduction! just view the attached pic to refresh ur memory

2. Pepe
The latest tout in town after the General, this guy plays both ball and players.

3. Sergio Ramos
Pepe's partner in crime. This dude has received a total of 19 red cards in his career.

4. Roy Keane
The only good thing about this guy is that he was one of the best midfielders of his time.

you made list like this and called it joey Barton, balotelli and Luiz fabiano!!!.... Dude go and watch what luiz fabiano in action he even fought with his team mates, country men and many more..... What about Balotelli dude ya list is incomplete!
