During the interview that took place at their Business Dev Centre in PH, I categorically told them I was still serving, yet I passed the interview. I took their medical test and check ups. Precisely by December 2007 I got a text message to prepare for their induction training in their training centre in Enugu, and that will be by January 2008. By then I had only few weeks to complete my NYSC which actually finished be Feb 2008. During the accreditation, the guy they sent asked me and 2 other guys that were still serving at that time to go home and promised to add or names in the next batch, which by then we would v completed or service. Alas 3 months later, the names for that batch came up but mine wasn't there. I gave the guy a call and he apologised that he actually forgot to bring or case up. and that was it. Lost the opportunity. I still remember that and feel bad

Director: From your cv I can see you have some HSE courses
Me: Yes sir (smiling sheepishly)

Director: Are you an Engineer or a safety officer?
Me: Puzzled by the question, I replied " I'm a Mechanical engineer sir, but I understand the importance of safety especially in the oil & gas industry.

Director: Your cv says you have a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
Me: Yes sir that's correct

Director: Hmm, where did u see this job advert?
Me: I saw it online sir

Director: What did u see when you saw the advert?
Me: I stated all the requirements I remember including a minimum of HND in either mechanical or electrical engineering

Director: Sorry we want only HND engineers, thank you.

I left feeling disappointed asking myself whether it was a crime for me to have done those HSE courses I did and also when minimum of HND meant strictly for HND

The most annoying thing was that we had submitted all our credentials both at the application stage and the accreditation stage just before the interview. How come I was invited for the test in the first place and wasn't also disqualified during accreditation

Honestly it too me a while to get over it. Smh

Mine was fidson, that was my ist interview after nysc cos I was always turning dwn interview invites I ws always receiving frm lag, I no like the state, but when I saw fidson I just had to go for it, travelled dwn frm abj, aced the aptitude test and was called back for the interview 2 weeks later, I travelled for the interview and the position was for medical rep, my plan was if I gt the job would choose abj as my preferred state for the job, the interview panel was made up of 4 men and a lady, during the interview they were surprised I dint have any workin experience (like say no be them invite me come), funny enough I ws the only candidate with no wrk experience, others had wrkin experience so my chances were zero, bt I answered the questions they asked, when I was asked if I had any question for them, I then asked of their new water injection plant which I read online that they were the ist to build such in nigeria as @last year, na so the man I ask begin blab, then told his colleague to answer me, that one was blabbing too and told another of his colleague to answer me which was a lady, she then finally told me more about the plant, then one of the men chipped in that the plant would resume operation the followin month with free accomodation, the pay was above 100k, expatriates were gona train the new recruits and they needed young graduates like me, that if I was interested he would send my name down right away so I can work there, I then asked him which state and he said ogun state, na so I scream nooooo (mumu like me, na abuja just dy my mind to work, till 2day I still regret that action), that its d medical rep job I'm there for and that's why I was invited, the man just shook his head in a pathetic manner when I said no, they then said ok they will get back to me, till 2day even regret mail them no send me.

After that fidson interview I swore I ws neva gona travel to lag again for any interview, then I received an interview iv for one gulf treasure oil and gas like a year lata, choi na so I borrow money travel go lag again, this time I no mind wrk for lag cos owu don blow me, when I got to the compound mehn the building was superb, (for my mind I say this company get money o), when I ws goin to sign in, the courses I saw that other candidates entered was shocking, cos we were told to write dwn our names nd our discipline, me come dy wonder wetin I dy find there cos most of them were engineering courses while mine was natural science (for my mind I say mayb na the HSE wey I do mk dem invite me sha), I then sat down, other candidates started trooping in, mehn see old men, men wey be like uncle nd pple papa them, nd when they brought out their CV it was like a text book, fear no let me bring out my cv cos e be like flyer, and I was obviously the youngest among them, I was like na only me waka come?
Then the sec started calling our names nd ushered us into a conference room for a written test which was nt indicated in the txt, one guy say 'excuse me sister, they said interview nd nt test, so why u wan come gv us test na' mehn everybody burst laugh..as test start come see old men dey copy frm phone after browsin, me broswe too sha my no lie, bt I observed the room if der ws camera.. After the test we were called in for the interview, I ws nervous thinkin I will meet with panel of pple, only to gt der nd saw one man sittin alone pingin, nd he ws dressed casually, I den sat dwn nd gave him my cv, he ws still pingin den only to look @ my cv nd exclaimed 'no wrk experience? You can't keep contacting the same guy and get a different result. He is probably not a serious person.

I remember doing an ecobank intervirw, was sent a success mail and 3 months later, I was not contacted. I got a job ontime and few months into my job I was deleting my messages. I came across the success mail, this was about 6months later. I simply replied that success mail copying evergbody that contacted me during the proces with few words saying "till date I have not be contacted, ur mail states I will be contacted shortly"

2 weeks later u I was called up to get my offer letter. Of course I didn't go, I just wanted justification.

As a graduate, we all have a story to tell.
Mine was with Unilag Holding popular called UNIHOLD. A subsidiary of Unilag but still a federal government job. On d day of the test, I was discourage by number of applicant but thank God it's CBT. I applied for Senior Store Officer, even though I didn't have d required experience I believe I could convince them during d interview. God willing I stalled thru d test part and it was then a panel interview at Unilag guest house. We were 22 in no and d interview was scheduled for 3PM. I prepared well and make necessary findings. I got to d interview by 1pm at least to meet people and ask them how far about their interview. Not until our turn they dey need to have a recess. Well, we patiently waiting for them till 8pm, then my instinct told me dis people have decided who they want to select already. Then by 8:30pm they told us to come in at once. Then one prof from d panel said in two sentences we should introduce our self. Then d big qualifications stated rolling in, Phd in view, MBA Msc bla, bla bla. After d intro, dey asked a question from accounting for inventory, one old man sharperly answer d question as if he had d expo before, I know d question as well but dey didn't give others d chance to answer it. Then I heard ladies and gentlemen that's all we could have for today. We will get back to you soonest. Chai!!! My eye was red and I was thinking what type of interview is this. Then, people started calling their Godfather to inform them about d progress. Unfortunately I didn't have anybody to call.

Abobi where I wan start from naa? Tenaris, or Halliburton? Tenaris tore me in bits in June 2013, from about a hundred or more participants whom made it through their SHL online tests invited for the Assessment Day to about 16 participants who made it to the group session and then a final 8 persons scheduled to be interviewed with the analysts I made it through the same day. I got interviewed and after some weeks, received a congratulatory mail with an invite for the next stage whenever it was eventually scheduled. The next stage entails meeting with the line managers, so it must have meant I had passed the assessment day as the mail narrated but the very disturbing part was I was never scheduled for the second stage interview regardless of a prior communication that actually kept hopes alive, till this point I haven't received any. That really consumed useful time
