Very soon our league won't ve adverse effect from foreign leagues.

But I still disagree a bit Enyimba had always brought more fans to d stadia than any other visiting team, we saw impressive turn up @Nnewi, Jalingo and PH despite the EPL at its peak!!

So u think I would have gone to Ibadan to watch 3sc from my temp official base because EPL has ended abi?

Two teenage brothers, 12-years-old Netochukwu Nwogbo and 15-years-old Gozzy Nwogbo, have donated a brand new library to a primary school in Anambra state.

The young philanthropists built and furnished the library and donated it Amaenyi Community Basic School in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Student Pulse gathered that the brothers' step- grandmother had taught at the primary school for years until she retired.

Netochukwu who handed the key of the school library to the Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Kate Omenugha, said the dilapidated and non-functional library in the school inspired them to execute the project.

"We had just paid a visit to the Amaenyi Community Basic School and were heartbroken at the dilapidated state of the library," he said.

He said their parents, also know philanthropists, had fully supported their vision.

“Our parents always taught us to be grateful for the things they are able to provide for us.

"They taught us that giving to those that do not have is lending to God. They practiced these teachings in their own lives by always seeking opportunities to bless others."

He noted that they executed the project themselves, without their parent's assistance.

“We however, decided to do it ourselves, to prove to other kids that you’re never too young to lend a hand.

"We are extremely grateful to all the people that responded to our fundraising requests."

The Headmistress of the school, Eunic Okoli commended the children and their parents for the library which she said would improve the reading culture of students.

Governor Willie Obiano, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke, promised to provide more materials for the library.

Awka=>>>>>Anambra judiciary gets financial autonomy

Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano has granted financial autonomy to the state judiciary.

Chief Judge Justice Peter Umeadi said this while handing over 22 cars to magistrates.

Handing over the keys yesterday, Umeadi who said he was representing Obiano, said the vehicles would help the magistrates in their work.

“We hope that these cars will assist them in their work, and we also hope they will use it wisely and always report to work in good time,” Umeadi said.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, state Chairman of the Magistrates Association of Nigeria, Mrs. Vivian Udedike praised Umeadi for the vehicles. She thanked the governor for granting financial autonomy to the judiciary and for his open-door policy which she said made it easy for him to be consulted on matters concerning the judiciary.

Chief Registrar Doris Ezeani said it was the first time the judiciary was taking absolute charge of its affairs.

“We thank the chief judge for his interest in staff welfare and in the transformation of the judiciary,” she said.

Sir Emeka Offor Please Take Note:
Onitsha=>>Onitsha Residents Protest Poor supply
Onitsha, commercial city of Anambra State boiled over at the weekend when hundreds of angry residents of Awada, a high density area of the city took to the streets to protest consistent poor public power supply in the area by the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC).

The residents marched through the Enugu-Onitsha expressway, waving placards some of which read: 'EEDC Give Us Prepaid Meters'; 'Old PHCN Is Better Than EEDC'; 'EEDC Officials Are Taking Us For granted'. The angry protesters stormed the offices of EEDC at Awada, GRA and Ogidi, the headquarters of Idemili North local government area, where they handed their petitions to the officers on duty.

In the petition, the protesters said though they received the privatisation of the power sector and the handover of electricity supply to EEDC, they expectation had been met with worsening electricity supply, as well as sharp and underhand practices by staff of EEDC.

According to them, some of the ills that had befallen them since EEDC took over electricity supply include non- reading of electricity meters, consistent outrageous estimated electricity bills which is not based on electricity consumption, frequent power surge and outages and sometimes total blackout that sometimes last for many weeks and removal of transformer fuses and deploying same to preferred customers.

The protest letter read: "It is worthy to note that despite promises to install pre-paid meters in houses in our area, all the buildings in the area most regrettably, still operate under the analogue system because of the corruption of the staff of EEDC who use the analogue system to exploit us. "The epileptic supply of electricity has disrupted social and economic lives in this area, thereby making living unbearable.

Awka=>> Ngige Tasks Buhari On South East Challenges

Former governor of Anambra state, Senator Chris Ngige, has spoken on the expectations of the Igbo tribe as regards President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Ngige who spoke to newsmen in Abuja which Daily Trust was part of, outlined the people’s expectations in this dispensation when he was asked what he thinks the people of the region will be looking forward to.

READ ALSO: 5 Reasons Why Buhari Will Still Appoint An Igbo Man As SGF Despite Ekweremadu’s Emergence

He said, “The preponderance of the people of the South-East didn’t believe that a change of government was possible. Luckily, some of us believed in it, luckily our mantra in our party is change. While the people of the South-East are hoping, we also expect them to change in their political behaviour and political culture. There are a lot of things they will expect from our government, there are a lot of things we expect from them too, it’s reciprocal. This party is not like PDP, we don’t share money in polling booths like PDP is doing and even APGA, we don’t believe in that, they have to change.”

Ngige went on to make a case for the roads in the region, doling out the state of the roads, he said, “Our government believes in equity, everybody knows that South-East roads are some of the worst in the country. Enugu-Onitsha through Awka; Enugu-Okigwe-Umuahia-Aba-Port-Harcourt- impassable. Onitsha-Nnewi-Arondiziogwu- Okigwe; Umuahia-Ikot-Ekpene-Aba and Onitsha-Aba are all impassable, so many federal roads that abound there.

“So, the people of the South-East are looking up to this government to give them good roads and infrastructure. They will also expect the 2nd Niger Bridge which has been talked about for the past 18 to 20 years. The talk about the 2nd Niger Bridge is becoming embarrassing. This is a 1.8 kilometre bridge.

The 2nd Niger Bridge is what we expect this government to do for us because the other bridge is rickety, that bridge is in a state of disuse, it’s not been well managed, and it’s also a bridge that suffered the full weight of hostilities during the Civil War.”

Joining the mantra of anti-corruption that President Buhari is known to profess at every opportunity, Ngige joined his voice to the call, saying, “We will also as a government face corruption; once the system is not corrupt the people will benefit, the South easterners will benefit more because they are always out for competition, and if you give them a level playing field which is in an anti-corruption measure, the South easterners will thrive,” he concluded.

ROBBERs BEWARE!!!!!!! Mob sets 2 robbers ablaze in Anambra

ONITSHA—Barely two weeks after a mob set ablaze two armed robbers at New Tyres Market, Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, for snatching huge sums of money from a trader, two other armed robbers were, yesterday, burnt to ashes along Limca Road in the same area.
The two robbers, armed with pistols, according to eyewitnesses, had blocked a lady, who boarded a commercial motorcycle with a Ghana-must-go bag filled with money and heading towards a bank, and allegedly snatched the bag from her.
According to the source, as the lady, believed to be a cashier in one of the petrol stations along the road, was being taken to the bank by the commercial motorcyclist, the armed robbers, riding their own motorcycle, closed in on them and ordered her to surrender the bag of money at gunpoint.
The source said she surrendered the bag to them, but as the thieves made to zoom off, their motorcycle somersaulted.
Mob action
It was gathered that some passers-by alerted policemen and went after them. Bullets reportedly did not penetrate their bodies. They were, however, over-powered by the mob and set ablaze.
It was learned that one of the robbers removed the burning tyre from his neck and fled with his body on fire.
He was, however, caught again by the mob, who tied his hands and legs, pushed him into a drainage with his accomplice and set them ablaze a second time.
Vehicular movements were disrupted along the road for many hours, even as some members of Anambra Traffic Management Agency, ATMA, were busy trying to control the traffic.
The Divisional Police Officer at Ogidi, Mr. Hassan Musa, told newsmen on phone that although he heard about the incident, the scene was under the jurisdiction of Awada Police Division.
He, however, described their death as two less the number of criminals operating in the state.
“If the public could always rise like this to defend themselves from the menace of the robbers, Anambra would then become a crime-free state, as desired by the state government and law-abiding citizens,” he said.

^^^Hehehehehe grin grin grin

.......And as the DPO ends the call and drops the phone on his desk one of the officers in his office with him asks, 'Oga, but what of the human rights of those armed robbers burnt in the gutter.....shouldn't they be assumed innocent until proven guilty by a competent court of law?' The DPO sharply looks up in anger in the direction of the person asking the question and swears 'Damburuba shege!'......Coupled with a few other unprintable choice insults, also delivered in Hausa for maximum effect! He goes on to ask the officer rhetorically if the 'blaady' armed robbers stopped to consider the human rights of the poor woman they robbed.....and states -with a note of finality on the matter- that he hopes they both roast in hell! wink

You are absolutely, 100% correct.
We need a beach 5 star hotel on the banks of River Niger. But the question is that our entire shoreline from Ogbaru to 33 have been built up already. The ONLY remaining shoreline left is the Anam modern city area. the only reason that has not been taken over is that there is no bridge yet at Nsugbe opening access into the area. Therefore, the government should use this period to secure the beach line in this area because as soon as a bridge is being built, Onitsha traders will buy up the entire beach line to build more markets.

Recovery is a good thing, but believe me, you don't want a beach that is first polluted by a market and recovered. Imagine a place like ose market recovered and a 5 star hotel built ? It is always better to secure the natural thing before it's polluted. Again recovery is so hard and fraught with all sorts of legal boundaries that make it a Pyrrhic victory.
Take the Chuba Ikpeazu stadium in Onitsha for example. Peter Obi rightly pulled down the 4 storey Onitsha north LGA building wrongly built there and paid to have the debris removed by as much cost as building the tiny stadia. In the end, it may have been better to go some where in Nsugbe and build a bigger stadium on virgin ground.

5 star hotels on river beaches should look like the pics below or you'll be building another hotel that nobody will care to visit.
