I have never been as humiliated as I was today at ECOBANK Badagry. I had applied for a MasterCard two weeks earlier and decided to go for it yesterday, Thursday June 25th. I was given the MasterCard but was unable to get my pin as someone in the CSM's office told me the guy had just gone out for medicals. After waiting for about 45 minutes, I left the bank and went about my business. I returned again at 3pm and the CSM wasn't on seat... The same guy in his office told me apologetically that everyone had been looking for him and I gathered from the tone of his voice that the CSM guy's absence was unofficial.

I however returned today, friday 26th and as I walked down the banking hall towards his cubicle. I greeted "Good afternoon, I came for my pin, here's my card" the guy looked at me and ignored my outstretched hand for about 30 seconds before snapping in a loud voice "did I ask for your card?"

I replied that I was a customer and he had no right to talk to me that way, his reply was to snatch the card from me and tell me "you are a goat". So I told him I wouldn't stand there and let him berate me... His response was to fling the card at me. He flung it with so much force that I had to avert my head as the card almost struck my left eye.

I called the head office and try as they did, the guy refused to apologize to me, claiming instead that he was older than me and that why did I call the head office. This was from some guy who called me a goat!

I don't know what ecobank values are but if Na first bank, the guy will be sacked that minute.

I guessed you were too gentle, you should have raised your voice n closed your account sharp sharp . there are many other banks with exceptional customer care.

What nonsense angry

For the employee to have acted that way and even same way in the past, it's either he is great asset to the bank, a top shot in the bank or just plain lucky. For whatever reason and in every case whichever way you look at it, the customer is sovereign. So it's quite shocking that he has done this severally and had gotten away with it. It doesn't tell well of the bank.

U took the appropriate step. Don't worry,go back there in 2weeks and u'll discover he's been fired or transferred. U will see the power of nairaland.

U've done your part. I'll do my own small part by sharing this post on my facebook.

I hate that guy,a bad attitude like that will obstruct a lot of good things from getting to him.

That guy may end up in jail someday. He would also find it difficult to succeed in Life.
Na Angry Man, those kind people can kill.

In a bank, its unbelievable.

Same ancient bank NYSC forced us to open account with? angry angry angry angry

Anyways that dude is so lucky that he met a "cool" babe like u @ op, I don't take poo from any arrogant banker. I will make sure he don't return to that seat angry angry

I had a similar experience when I was in Owerri, tho its in Diamond bank. I yelled back at d lady that thinks she's screaming at her house help. Everyone in d banking hall started yelling at her, telling her to go back home n settle any issues she had with anyone before coming to work. Some of these bankers are so rude, ladies especially, I'm surprised that a man behaved this way undecided undecided undecided

My dear brother, na so we been plenty for one bank to deposit money....instead of d nincompoop to tell us say server dey down or something, him dey there dey play spider solitre game, next thing him tell us say him dey go break, we wait till wen their closing time reach, dem tell us to come back d next day..

the next day pple carry food flask, mat, pillow etc come because dem no know d next excuse

It's indeed a pity how these people fail to understand fact that customers(who are always right) are the very reason they are there, no etiquette, no training on quality customer service delivery and because they know u'll neither Sue dem nor d company, they keep on keeping on embarassed

I understand just how you feel , quite sorry about that but most of these bankers have grown this kind of attitude not to take it away from some that are extremely virtuous but some are just way not worth being employed, they are just everywhere, I please want employers to train their staff in human relations as some lack every bit of it.
