Mavin act, Korede Bello has once again performed at another Church service despite the view of some fans that a secular musician should not be allowed to mount a pulpit and sing in the church.

He performed last weekend at Embrace International Assembly in Lagos.

Korede first appearance as a performing act in a Church was at HICC(Harvesters International Christian Centre) where he sang his smash hitGodwin.

When he was criticized for his actions, the Young singer said that he was going to perform in a church again.

In an earlier interview with NET, he said;

“If you are the pastor of a church and you invite me to perform the song, Yes I will perform the song again.

“It’s God’s song and whatever is happening now is predetermined, people are talking about God that’s all that matters”.

“From the inception of Godwin, I knew that it wasn’t my song, I knew that anything that’s for God has the potential of growing bigger than you imagine. It’s not quite a gospel song, it’s an inspirational song, what I mean by it’s for God is the fact that it’s dedicated to God. I don’t see it as my song, I see it as people’s song and I see it as a song for God.”

Its just a way to boost customers to d church biz, if dem leave some pastors they will invite terry g to perform 'akpako' as long as e bring many customers enta church thus, more money for offering, tithes n seed sowing. Some pastors don dey already use nollywood actors draw customers sef.

I'd rather prefer to look beyond the singer and claim the content of the song, turn it to prayer and wrap it up with a resounding amen.

Even though God is the judge of all, Korede Bello has not showed signs of a genuine Christian.
As long as he's still singing secular music, he shouldn't be invited to sing @ Churches. The Pastor that invited him is a business man. It's just about driving crowd to his Church. I can never attend Churches that do this.
Can Korede Bello, join the choir dept in his Church? No!
Therefore, I stand on the truth of Christianity to say: NO to inviting secular artistes to Church programs.
All those Mama Gee, Paw Paw invitation as guest ministers are wrong!

Godwin is a good song, a most perfect combination of good lyrics, tight beats and instrumentation a deep understanding of both singer and producer.

But,
my first problem is Korede Bello is not a Born Again Christian, or at least he hasn't come out to openly declare so. If he is, then anyone who comes to a church or ministry to render a song is a minister by default, with a sole aim of using his spiritual gifts to openly edify the church and glorify God. He is not just a 'Guest Artiste', he has a mandate to operate and minister the word (through song in his particular case) and this ministration should be done spiritually and with a spiritual undertone.

Godwin as a song to me lacks spiritual depth and anointing.

But if we assume it does, then Korede Bello MUST LEAVE the MARVIN LABEL owned by Don Jazzy as the Label itself is not Gospel and is not directly interested in winning souls to the Kingdom of God. It is more of a profit seeking organization that seems to entertain and not minister spiritually (which Godwin does - entertain) and make money in the process.

A Born Again Godwin Korede Bello unequally yoked together with a Tiwa Savage who uses her body and lyrics to sell sex in a bid to feed herself and attain cheap popularity internationally does not rhyme and sit well spritually. Any mature Christian will attest to this.

So, for entertainment and emotional excitement, Godwin is like Gongo aso or Dorobucchi; a smash hit, perfect by musical and international standards, but it is not and should not be mistaken for a spiritual song to be used in the church to minister.

If anyone has felt the anointing by listening to the song let them come and state it here.

There is a reason why Don Moen, Nathaniel Bassey, Frank Edwards and ifeSinachi's songs are never played in clubs. The reason is simple; the anointing will never be allowed be manifest in such places simply because people simply know the presence of God does things to you and will scatter the atmosphere of sex and vanity that the club so desperately tries to sell. A song like Godwin (anointing lacking, club-stricken and entertainment seeking [which is completely opposite to the enlightenment that comes from the spirit and the word]) should not be played in the church at all and any pastor or church that allows it is in gross error of spiritual principles.

Don't get it twisted; the song glorifies God but it wasn't composed with spiritual edification in mind; just for entertainment and profit making.

The church should uphold its standards and stop trying to be like the world. It is a shame that most pastors and church leaders do not know this.
